April 15. The last day to file on time, and I made it. The service here is exceptional from the…read moretime you walk in 'til the time you step out. The tax preparers here have decades of experience under their belt. The receptionist is a lovely, sweet older woman, who claims she is 84yrs, but doesn't look anywhere near her age. She's very well mannered and very pleasant to converse with. She reminded me of my late grandmother. We chit-chatted a bit until Ms. Rosalyn, my tax preparer, called me. It was the first time, I had to file for 2years, whoops! As she crunched some numbers, I was pretty content with what I was going to receive thanks to the Big Beautiful Bill. Now, as fast as I was excited, was just as fast as I was in awe of the filing fee. For each year, I had to pay $491! I asked was that for both years, and she said it was for one. In 2023, I remembered paying somewhere around $360. Next year, I'm definitely going to make my way around it because there's NO WAY I'm paying a half of a grand to get my taxes done again. It's just absurd. I had to bite the bullet this time, and let her swipe my card. Other than that, the folks were friendly and take care of the place. FYI: There's a sign on the receptionist's desk called the sitting fee. This is when you've sat with your tax preparer, and decide you don't like what you're receiving, and decide to go elsewhere. It is a mandatory $50 for wasting their time and yours.

The cleaning was scheduled for a Tuesday at 8am and her and her counterpart, Vanessa, arrived at 7:45am to inspect the home before getting started. Claudia walked me through everything she planned on cleaning, which I appreciated, and I stayed out the way to let them work. For a 1900 sq. ft. home, the cleaning took about 3 hours. They deep cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms, dusted, vacuumed and arranged necessary items to make the home look nice and tidy. The one-time cleaning service was $250, which included a deep clean of the oven as well. Claudia was super sweet and very personable, you can tell she takes pride in her work. Lesson learned: do my own taxes…read more Geez, after tacking on fees for auto deposit ($35), I paid a little over $200 to get my taxes done. I've done my taxes all the time. It just so happened that 2014 brought in some interesting circumstances that I couldn't figure with Turbo Tax. Not wanting to make a mistake that could cost me $$, I went to HR Block. I should have just googled my circumstances and did it myself The lady who assisted me was very nice. Just spending that kind of money on a session that took less than 30 minutes bites.

There's parking on the side of the building. I wasn't a fan of the parking because if you pull in, when you leave you have to back out into traffic. So sometimes its a wait, waiting on the light to change so you can get out. I just needed a little prepaid card for online shopping. The Flare card they offer cost $9.95 per month which i wasn't aware of. But i was aware theres a $3.95 charge everytime you load money.. I've had prepaid cards in the past that weren't this expensive. So i don't know how long i will keep it. But it does the job. If you want to have your check direct deposited on the card, they may waive that $9.95 fee. They have a few different style cards you can choose from. They also offer payday loans and bill payments there . If you come in behind someone applying for a loan it could be a longer wait, like 10-15 minutes, sometimes longer. But I'm normally in and out in 6 minutes or so just to reload a card. The cashiers that work there are nice and the store is clean. Besides all the fees associated, I'm ok with this Ace location and the service they offer..
