I submitted Rita and paid Rita. I paid IRS via voucher. Stephens was to submit IRS and Ohio taxes electronically. I am due a refund from Ohio. Weeks went by. No refund rec'd. Called office, answering person said "Oops, we forgot to call you we need..." I had submitted that info on their secure email but sent again. Called 5 weeks later and spoke with Stephen, the accountant, he confirmed it was actually sent in (call on5/5/26). Still no refund. CAlled Ohio tax agency, they confirmed they have received nothing. Calling Stephens tax office trying to get the confirmation number IRS and Ohio were submitted...no answer. Now I am trying to call IRS to see if the 1040 was ever submitted and this is my worst nightmare. I have never encountered this level of sloppiness ie misconduct.

I had a good experience with Henton & Associates last year, however, this year I did not. I was in…read morea hurry to have my taxes done because I was trying to secure a rate lock on a home loan and my lender required my tax return (to use my rental property as income). I was told it would take 2-3 weeks to have my taxes completed, so that is what I expected. When I emailed my final tax documents over I asked to please forward my taxes back to me as soon as they are available and said why I was in a hurry for them. After 4 weeks I sent an email asking for an update of the status. I didn't hear back so after 6 more days, I sent an email asking someone to please respond to my previous message. Someone responded back later that day saying that my taxes were in the mail that day, which was good, but it took 5 weeks total. Interest rates are climbing quickly right now and this also delayed me in being able to start looking. It was frustrating. When I received my invoice, the cost had gone up by 28.5% from last year, which no one had previously mentioned to me. It doesn't feel good to pay more for a lesser quality experience. I emailed them last week after receiving the invoice to let them know how I felt and even outright asked them to consider discounting the cost and didn't get a response. I paid the invoice today, so that I could post my review. Will never go back!

Now no one there can be held accountable for anything -- very smart, aren't they? Beware if you are a West Coast customer. There is no reaching them during Pacific Standard Time's afternoon normal business hours. If you are going to sell your services nationwide, have a team available during nationwide business hours. Do we get cheaper "support contracts" due to the truncated "support"? Of course not. We also started receiving fines from our state entity AND the IRS because they are depositing our payroll taxes late. Inexcusable. It took them almost a year to figure out how to program a simple electronic certified report required by our state -- again, completely inexcusable. Think you're going to get what you are paying for? Think again. NOW they have eliminated their true online payroll ability (you would need only your browser) and insist that you use a local version on whatever computer you are on via Microsoft Remote Desktop -- its completely buggy and has lost 40% normal functionality. They should have left it IN THE CLOUD where it actually worked. We do not WANT this on our systems, that is why we signed up with your company. Bait and switch. Last straw. Anyone having similar issues with mishandling of your monies or timely payroll tax depositing, report asap to: consumerfinance.gov

During the pandemic when they had a huge increase in people getting their taxes done. I dropped off my paperwork in February and called and stopped in to see when it would be completed the closer it got to tax day. A very rude younger man would not give me any answers. He caused me so much anxiety. He just refused to give me a completion date or tell me why it was taking so long. I eventually was called the day before tax day. I decided to give them another chance. I've been happy with the service once again. If I see this person sitting off to the right in front I just avoid him. The rest of the staff is wonderful including the owner. He always acknowledges you when you enter the office.

I provided notes for some local things that were not heeded. They also made a decision without my approval to apply a refund to the next year's taxes instead of having the money refunded now. Took them to task for the poor service, and then they refused to finish the filing wasting over 2 weeks of time with the deadline approaching. I have fired this company and will be taking my business elsewhere. They were told they would have bigger problems over this, which they responded to by threatening to file a police report (a report for what exactly, I don't know). I'm not sure how they treat their other clients, but I had an extremely bad experience.

I had a unique problem and they were extremely helpful in assisting me on how to figure it all out. They all seem very smart and capable. It makes the weight very enjoyable.
