Used this company before and had a great experience. I used them again in November 2020 and didn't have such a great experience. The people they sent to install the carpet damaged 2 of my walls and broke a light fixture without mentioning it. They even asked me for a tip, which I gave before I noticed the damage. When I called H Discount, they offered to have the same people who caused the damage to come back and fix it. I called H bc needed a carpet fast in a three bedroom apartment and I am so happy to have discovered H D flooring. The called back and sent out someone to take measurements and give a solid written estimate within 2 hours of my initial call. Estimate was fast, fair and guaranteed. I went with H Discount after a terrible experience with Empire Today. I am SOOOO pleased with my floor!!! I was able to call on a Friday and ask for the specific type of floor I wanted (I am redoing a spare room to turn into a gaming/business room). My puppy had torn out the corners of the old cheap carpet that was there initially. They were able to quote me a price and get the floor done by Saturday!!! So much faster and efficient than the other company I dealt with. AND the price was so reasonable (at least to me) $500. Had a 9x9 room done with WPC with a light grey wood grain finish. The ONLY reason I am giving a 4 stars instead of 5 is because I was informed that the team that would do the floors would arrive within a 2 hour window and they ended up coming like an hour later than that window. I know things happen, but I would have liked to have been updated on the status of when they would be arriving and what was keeping them (I had to call and ask myself). Other than that, I am Extremely happy with how the floor turned out. The team that did the floor was professional and worked quickly yet diligently. I had such a delightful experience with this company. After visiting another carpet store and being quoted an absurd amount for carpeting a small walk-in closet sized space, we met Miguel and it was a world of difference! Miguel came out to our space to take a look and gave us a quote. We were unsure of 2 different types of carpet, so he came back with the 2 styles just for us to see/feel. Once we decided, within a couple of hours he had workers come in and install the carpet in 30mins! Found one that was similar here but out of my price range, although I didn't purchase it, I would say their prices are better than anywhere else. I compared their price to other flooring stores in Burbank and Pasadena. Also they carry a lot of high end brands and American flooring at a cheaper price than elsewhere. Upon checking out a bunch of flooring companies, this business seemed to have the kind of variety we were looking for. With that, the owner and lady associate were very helpful, friendly, and willing to accommodate our browsing needs as we checked out a few floors. We chose an engineered wood and the price was fair in comparison to the other places we had visited. We set up a date that worked for both of us which was about a few days after purchase. We agreed upon possibly 2 installers and a 1 day completion based upon a 400sq feet work area. Before the installation day, the owner called to push the date back but we were not able to do so, and he did his best anyway to send someone on the day we had agreed. One installer showed up, and even with my dad acting as his "helper" the installation took about one and a half day. However, the work was done really well. We loved the outcome and would definitely consider them again if we need any flooring for our home, etc. The area worked in was cleaned up well and we appreciated that. Lastly, It would have been nice to hear back from the business after the installation to check if all went well. Overall, a good experience. Thank you! read more

Wish I could write something positive, but they just really handled today's situation badly. We had them put in some carpet two years ago, in two rooms. One of the rooms has had some stretching so that there is a 1-2 inch "bump" or rise in the carpet, which frankly has never happened to me in my many years owning homes. I called them to ask them to come out and fix it; they scheduled a time for today at 11am and I took off from work so that I could be here. I called several times yesterday to confirm. No one got back to me, that is, not until this morning, when they said 1. they wouldn't make it today; and 2. that it would cost me $150 to have them come out and fix it. Not cool to cancel at the last minute. And really not cool to suddenly tell me it's going to cost me $150 to fix something that should have been better installed initially. So now I have someone who will come out, steam clean both rooms, AND fix the bump in the carpet for a total of $145--$5 less than H Discount Flooring. They were nice two years ago, and the carpet is good, at a reasonable price; but this situation has been handled badly. read more

I don't know why we haven't received our keys after the work is done. I know people are busy but not returning clients key can cause privacy and trauma knowing that strangers has our home key. We are changing locks for sure but I'm debating if I should call police. It's almost two weeks and hopefully key will be returned. I've called, texted and nothing has been done. Needed to get new carpets and floorings, had no idea where to look but called a few places on Yelp, this place gave me by far the cheapest quotes, in fact they were so cheap I became a bit worried since it sounded just to good to be true, but I went ahead and first had new carpets installed. Miguel provided prompt and excellent service, he will bring samples for you to choose, or you can visit his store and pick them out. Anyway the carpeting wasn't perfect, I found a few bumpy spots in the floor but overall for the price I thought I got a good deal. Later on I decided to get new flooring for the living room as well, again got a ridiculously cheap quote, went for it and again got quick service and it was done in less than a day, again it wasn't 100% perfect as I found a spot on the floor that creaked a little bit when you walked over it, but then again, I paid such a low price I can't really whine about it. Overall, if you just want flooring done for a really really low price, and don't mind a few imperfections here and there, you can't go wrong! TLDR - If you want a professionally installed floor with a low flexible price (and additional deals), then try H Discount Flooring. They will work WITH you rather than work FOR you to get the job done. I do not normally write reviews, or even write on Yelp - but this is an exception. We recently purchased a home in the 626 area and needed a local contractor/flooring business to help with remodeling the floor with quality laminate. As any consumer would, we went around various flooring companies and contacted them for quotes and pricing. These quotes would include material costs, installation and labor (removal of old flooring and addition of new), misc costs such as fixer-uppers, base boards, and of course tax. We shopped around to The Home Depot and other local companies - although they provided around $10K for a 1400 sqft job. This did not include overhead materials, labor costs, and sales tax. Luckily, we searched through Yelp and found H Discount Flooring located in Rosemead (which is fairly close by to our new property). We called over the phone for a rough estimated quote for a 1400 sqft job. They provided a rough just based on material costs at $1.50/sqft for a waterproof laminate. They also included estimated labor costs. The rough quote was around ~$5.6K - way way lower than any other place we checked. We then went to visit the place. It was a smaller location with a showroom full of flooring materials. The staff was pleasantly kind and helpful. They were able to answer all questions regarding our requested job plans, materials, sqft layout, and installation process. They discussed the rough quote and provided a more accurate one with selected material (they have a wide variety of material consisting of laminate, tile, and various other types). They agreed to have someone come out and measure the flooring dimensions the next day. We then returned to discuss the quote with Miguel (I believe the manager/owner). He and his team was able to provide a flexible agreement on total costs (labor, material, etc). They even threw in extra deals such as installation of base crowning with a small $0.10 fee on total sqft installation. With the final quote including excess material, the price came out nearly accurate to the rough quote, although it was slightly higher. Miguel knew we were on a budget so he offered to waive the sales tax; therefore saving us a ton of money. There were other deals and discounts thrown in (there were too many to count, thanks Miguel). During the job, the installers worked quickly and removed the old carpet and tile within one day. The next day they were able to start installing the laminate. They even worked through the intense Socal heat wave (~120oF) in order to get the job done. The installers were professional and had the project completion in mind rather than just rushing the job. There were some issues found by the installers. Miguel and his team were able to help compensate for the job issues, such as wood being prohibitive during installation and needed removal. We also discussed removal of tile that was not removed by the installers - Miguel and his team were able to remove the tile and place in the laminate with a short amount of time (very impressive). Now the aforementioned seemed as though everything is written to be positive and had no downsides - this is true. We did not have any negative experiences as the H Discount Flooring team was able to update us on situations, progress, and issues/resolutions. Whenever we had a question, the staff was able to pick up the phone without hesitation. The only thing we are not sure about yet is the lasting quality of the floor. They provide a 1 year warranty if there is an issue, although knowing the H Discount Flooring team, they had a quality installation in mind rather than completion for money. In summary - we would recommend H Discount Flooring as they provide professional flooring installation with a low cost. They are honest and want your business; so they will work with you to get the job done. read more
