Our local H-E-B since moving to Texas has been our favorite place to stock up on all our household needs. Our favorite items recently has been the sandwich meats to make them at home and man just everything here is so good. I guess not too much of a shocker to them hence the name. Haven't been disappointed once and their selection is so good. The coupons u get in store just for shopping there is such a treat and everyone who's helped us has been so incredibly nice and we would recommend it to anyone. Any new Texans should definitely consider this place because after we made the switch I don't think we'll look back! read more

Very nice H-E-B, came in for some valentines cookies. They had the traditional strawberry boot set up where they dipped them and roll them in nuts and do different things. Was looking for small shortbread cookies with some pink or red icing. Did not find any of those. However, found plenty of other cookies just not what I was looking for. read more

Austin was a LOUSY customer service representative for H-E-B. I had 2 coupons. One from HEB for 8$ off and a kitty litter coupon for 4$ off. He literally interrogated me on a store coupon YOUR company sent me in the mail. Stating if the coupon was used before I could not use it again. It was a new coupon and proceed to clip the coupon with sissiors. "He kept telling me "to have a blessed day. " with some serious attitude, I'm not sure why? He was frazzled when I handed him a coupon for 4$ off a 19 lb box of kitty litter. He left the register and said "it was only good on a 15-24 lb box." He went to look at my purchase located in my cart. My purchase was a 19 lb box. Clearly it met the coupons value. He again told me "to have a blessed day. ". I'm taking this attitude as a "screw you customer". I paid and was leaving and the customer behind me said "what about all these other items? " Austin only rang up 1/2 of my shopping cart items. He was so concerned about my 2 (two) coupons. Thinking I was reusing a coupon he was beside himself he forgot to ring up my complete cart. He again told me "to have a blessed day. ". I found this highly offensive because he basically was telling me to "screw you or f?;k off. " he told me approximately 8-10 times without a response from me. I never raised my voice or was rude. He was obsessed with me receiving a discount. Austin does not need to be working with consumers. He also does not know how to make change. Not good for cash paying customers. I had a very disappointing experience at H-E-B Allen on April 22 around 8 PM at the express checkout. There was some confusion in line when a customer ahead of me stepped away and another person was at the end bagging groceries. I thought she is a HEB employee until she said excuse me, and approached to the register to pay.I made space by backing up my cart. The associate, Brody, told me to move my cart back more in a very abrupt and unfriendly tone, which I did. When it was my turn, the interaction only got worse. Brody did not greet me or make eye contact. He bluntly said, "Can I scan those?" referring to my two empty water jugs. When I asked for clarification, he repeated "I need to scan them". I explained that the jugs are refilled and paid for outside, and from that point on he stayed completely silent for the rest of the transaction. I left the store feeling frustrated and honestly surprised. H-E-B has always been one of my favorite stores because of its consistently great customer service, which is why this stood out so much. I hope management looks into this, because this experience was far from the standard H-E-B is known for. read more

Our local HEB! We stop by at least once a week for various groceries. We're very familiar with the layout at this point and have also preordered mass amounts of fresh butter tortillas for church events. One of my favorite things about HEB is the loose spices section, where you can measure out exactly how much of an ingredient you need for a much more affordable price than some of the prepackaged brand name versions. It's definitely our favorite place to get groceries, and much less crowded than the Plano location, especially at the times we tend to visit. I do wish there was a slightly more robust cheese selection, but I can supplement with other grocery stores for those needs. read more

Did you ever wish you'd kept your mouth shut? A few months ago I ( after a few adult beverages) offered to foot the bill for a fall dinner party featuring Moules fries. The national dish of Belgium. My French speaking Belgium friend offered to cook and I offered to buy. So,here I am scouting HEB for ingredients to bring it all together. I love and bleed HEB!! So grateful they're finally building in North Texas. My husband and I previously would drive to the Austin area to shop for groceries... it was well worth it! The Allen location is incredible! It's clean, the employees are always helpful; if you have a question, they will often take you right to where something is located (if you like). So many GREAT things about this and their other locations!!! The "not so great" would be two recent things... 1) The folks that bag groceries need a bit of training... eggs NEVER go on the bottom of a bag, unless it's the only thing; and NEVER put food with ANY cleaning or soap type products... seriously, don't! 2) The curbside pick up is fantastic, there have been a few hiccups, but they're usually resolved (Except that I am tired of getting dented cans!). I did another curb-side pick-up this past week, and while waiting for my groceries, I asked for a Manager. When she came out, I showed her two boxes of HEB "ziplock (type) bags"; they were both previously opened (not by me) and were what was bagged in my previous order pickup. I wasn't mad, I just wanted them replaced. She delegated it to an individual who either didn't understand the assignment OR didn't care. They brought me two identical boxes of QT Freezer zip bags ... which is not what I gave the Manager to replace. Now, I have to take them back to the store a 2nd time, but this time I will need to find my receipt to show them exactly what I was swapping in the first place. An unnecessary inconvenience that should not have even happened... if the original person who "shopped & bagged" the 2 boxes (for curbside pickup) had selected unopened boxes (or noticed the issue and acted accordingly)... I would not even be writing about it here as an issue. Funny how that domino effect works..... If the "H*E*B" mark is on the product, it's a stamp of honest approval, and you will (most likely) not be disappointed! HEB may be the best Grocery store in America... read more

I love this location. It's a bit of a drive for me but it's no where near as crazy as the Plano location. They always have what I am looking for in stock and the employees are helpful and nice. This location is the closest to our home (for now), and is thus our "home HEB store", despite being in a different actual city from us. We've been going on the regular since it opened, and while I've read many of the less than stellar reviews here, I disagree with the slight on one of the main complaints: the personal shoppers. Let's get ahead of it right away: Yes, there are a lot of them, and their carts are sizeable, and they do take up some space. But this is where we're at as a people. We want convenience and are willing to pay for it. We want to be able to order on a website, and either have our groceries delivered, or be able to pick them up at the store without coming in. The logistics of this require the red carts. I see them every time we're there. But, and this is key, I've never encountered a rude employee, or one who didn't go out of his/her way to move their cart if it was in our way. I've had far more issues with normal shopping carts piloted by normal customers, than the personal shoppers. But what of the rest of the experience? What draws us to HEB and keeps us coming back, is the range of products offered, the cleanliness of the store, the staff, and above all, the quality and value for what we get. The HEB branded goods that we've tried have, with very few exceptions, proven to be equal to or better than the name brands, and we often favor them over the big names. The deli area is expansive and stocked with both store branded meats and cheeses, and Boar's Head. There are also a ton of baked goods of all kinds, including breads and rolls, tortillas, as well as sweet goods such as cakes and cookies. We've tried most of them, and never a clunker. Fresh meats such as beef and pork are fresh, well stocked, and of great quality; again, we've never been disappointed, There is a large ready to heat/eat/cook area, with many choices depending on how much prep you want to do at home. This location and most around our area have BBQ made on premises, but this review will remain focused on the store. Associates have always been helpful and friendly, including running back in the cooler to find things that might be out on the shelf. Produce area is expansive and has fresh everything, again, rarely if ever leaving us wanting. One great example is bananas, where you'll almost always find everything from "ready to eat right now" to "let's let those ripen for a few days or a week". Pharmacy staff and service, in particular, is so good that I'll actually pay a little more for my prescriptions, just to have a friendly, laid back experience and not the gristly people mill (on both sides) that are the big box pharmacies (you know who you are). OK, so, what are the negatives of this store? I'm serious when I say, I got nothin'. I mean, they're busy a lot, so you may have to hunt for a parking spot, and might have to share aisles with lots of other shoppers, but that's kind of the point of being a successful business. It's rare that I say I'm a "customer for life" of any business, but HEB is one chain that would have to have a complete and utter collapse of quality and service to drive me away. read more

We don't have supermarkets like this in California. This is like if Tjs, wall mart, Safeway, save mart and food max all came together but this might still be better. This place has everything, a bbq restaurant, bakery, fresh tortillas, sushi, variety of prepared foods and just so much more. They had more types of cheese that I ever knew existed. This market is truly huge so we did not make it to the non food side of the store with pharmacy, furniture, electronics and who knows what else they have here. We found these butter flour tortillas that were so good. High quality items and a great variety my wife detected the fragrance of some Guavas as we walked by the produce department and we got some of those and a few other items we needed for home made pizza. I almost want to move here so i can shop here this place is amazing! My 8 year old self would be lifting his you know what off when you find out what the H-E-B stands for...... read more

I was in the Allen area and needed to pick up a few grocery items and H-E-B Allen was nearby! I bought a couple of the Little John Dwarf Bottlebrush Shrubs. I'm looking to attract some butterflies and pollinators and want to give these a try. I also found my favorite snacking apples - SugarBee! Once I got used to the layout of the store, (it's flipped from the Plano store) I could easily find what I needed. I'm happy shopping at ANY H-E-B in the area! read more

I am adding a new review update. I have shopped at HEB every week since opening. While I originally loved the store, I cannot keep shopping there if HEB does not make an immediate alteration. Right now, priority is given to large red carts for personal shoppers. They block the aisles. The shoppers are rude. They push in front of paying shoppers. They have no etiquette or opportunity for other shoppers to also complete their business. This is inappropriate and unacceptable. HEB needs to address this. I will not be back in until they make it so I can shop hassle free and alongside - not second to - the red cart shoppers. read more

I've been a fan girl of the H.E.B. located in Plano (20-minute drive) for over a year now, but when I was able to drive 5 minutes away from my home to an H.E.B., -- this Texas girl was ELATED!! Yep. I'm one of those people who stood in line for the GRAND OPENING this morning!! We were greeted with smiling faces, a store full of promotions and coupons that had me buying a ton of groceries I didn't need, lol. TIP: This Allen location is easy to access, but I'm a little concerned that there will be enough parking. Don't be surprised if you find yourself parking at Kroger across the street. read more

HEB is a great store. You want the app so you can take advantage off all their deals. Except it to be busy or go during non-peak times.

My original review complained about them not making it. They started making German Rye again in their bakery. All is right with the world.

Of course we were excited to have an HEB, but I have been disappointed more than once, primarily with the produce. I've encounter rude employees and less than appealing fruit and veggies. Today was no exception. Organic strawberries were all moldy and poblano peppers were old and wrinkly to name a few things. Both minor irritation is the kids bucks thing. It rarely had tickets. Really bad experience there. It was a Sunday and we were doing our weekly grocery shopping and thought we'd give this H-E-B a try. The shoppers that push the big red towers around shopping for other people are so rude and just push right in front of regular customers and don't even stop or pause in the aisles. Not a fan !!!! I bought these Rhythm organic beet chips manufactured by Rhythm foods and I ate them and after one bite they tasted horrible and tasted like old oil. so I looked on the back and there's a cancer warning and when I tried to call their number, it is disconnected and when I try to go online to their website, I get notices from Safari that it's not a safe website. While there are certain products at HEB I really enjoy I feel they need to put a much larger focus on the overall customer service they provide. I understand they are busy but my goodness. They just make it feel like you are in the way and the people at the checkout don't even greet or thank and today they just threw all my groceries down the belt and the guy bagging was filling every bag as full as could be and not putting things that go together in same bags. My wife and I went a month or so ago and purchased two of their Sliced BBQ sandwiches, upsized with the extra brisket. They were wonderful. Large buns, lots of tasty brisket. We stopped in Saturday to shop and grabbed a couple more of these sliced brisket sandwiches, again upsized with the extra brisket. These were horrid. Clean, organized, fast self check out lanes, and large variety of products are just few things that I fall in love with HEB! The location is perfect for both east and west Allen residents. Fruit products are fresh, organic fruits are cheaper than Costco!! Their salad is very fresh! They have a huge Asian snack selections and they are cheaper than the big chain Asian markets like Ranch 99, Daiso and H mart!! I feel like I am coming here instead of going to Costco for fruits. I love HEB as it was my favorite grocery store when we lived in Austin. So far I visited all locations here in DFW and so far Allen is actually my favorite when it comes to friendliness, space and location. I also love that they have HEB bucks machine for your little shopper. It's fun to get "heb dollars" enter to the machine to get some points. Once you fill your little booklet your kiddo can pick up some price at the customer service area. Always fun for my little ones. But I have to admit. This is the first HEB location where I do see and hear lots of private chatter among employees and staff. I usually don't get bothered by that but if they bag my food items just plainly without logic and thinking. Thats when I wonder ... hmmm... maybe just put a little more effort on your job and less talking with your co-worker which skin care products are the best for your skin type. I never thought I'd give an HEB 3 stars, but the one in Allen breaks the cardinal rule of HEB, never having fresh tortillas or fresh french bread... it's HEB. How do you not have those two items at 5:30 in the evening, 8 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon, or 3 in the afternoon, or seemingly ever? This is literally the only HEB I've ever been to that doesn't have them fresh or doesn't even have them at all. I've driven to the Mckinney HEB several times because without fail, they have both every time. And I understand HEB stays busy, but the Mckinney store stays just as busy but never runs out. The rest of the store has met HEB standards, but the lack of warm carbohydrates is a two star drop for me. read more

I love this store especially the yellow coupons. I always find a good coupon deal here, and they have great sales.

I usually go to HEB, when their lobster tails are on sale. In the seafood dept, they have a steamer. This is so convenient, because they will season (lemon pepper, Cajun or Old Bay seasoning) your seafood and steam it for you. So, this makes for a very easy dinner. Butttttt, not of late. The last two times, that I've stopped by to get lobster, the steamer was broken. So, I stopped going by. Kroger's steamer works just fine (0n Greenville Ave in Allen, TX). They do have a few sale prices on produce, but most of HEB's produce is very, very pricey. read more
