The price displayed on plants customers were trying to purchase.

One Star is Too Much!!! Garden Area - On this morning 09/24/2025 at 9:30 am, my husband and I, went to H-E-B off Northpark at Interstate 59 and received very poor assistance by a male (description: brown skin, not African American - approx. 5'7 blk/hair,brn eyes) working the area. First of all, I noticed him in the caged area so I said excuse me I'm trying to purchase some of the small succulent plants and the display shows $2 but I purchased some the same ones on Monday at $1 each. He responds, let me scan them and says, well the price is $2.97. Then he, changes the display price from the $2 to 2.97 while my husband and I stand there. And as he proceeded to walk off from us as though we're of unimportance he said with his back to us, I don't make the price so my husband responded back and said, oh you just change them. We proceeded to the inside of the store to attempt to make contact with a manager or individual with a more accommodating and pleasant disposition. But that didn't work either we encountered a female kid by the name of My and after explaining our concerns of what had taken place thus far, she stated, "I don't work in that department so if he said the price was $2.97 then it's $2.97, I can't change it cause I'm not over that department." She further asked for the male name and we didn't remember it but described him and she said, oh I think I know who you're talking about so I'll talk to him. I tried to explain that I'm not asking for you to change the price nor talk to him for the unprofessional disrespect of the individual working outside but that I would like to know if HEB feels that they should honor the prices they display. Manager My said, I can't change the price if it is $2.97. At this point, my attempt for resolution or assistance was to no avail so I told her that was okay but I would be submitting a review for the mistreatment we've encountered today because it's not right and I began to walk away very quickly and hurt. When we had almost reached the exit door, manager or Lead - My, came behind us saying, "ma'am I can give you a discount then", and I responded, "that's okay because if there's not a mature store manager here than I'll just do my review because you all aren't treating people right and we continue walking out of the store and left. This is our neighborhood location but unfortunately if this is the new treatment that HEB will be displaying toward their customers then we'll just have to patronize KROGERS and elsewhere for all of our future groceries/gardening purchases.

unsung heroes hurricane beryl barreled through our cities, towns, livelihoods and family matters. but its not over...h-e-b kingwood was the only place where people could find help in my neighborhood. for me, the store was where i could find wifi so that i could tell my family i was alive and well. but.......such an operation could not have happened if not for the worker. it is the h-e-b worker, stocking, cleaning, opening doors. the worker bagged, pushed carts, held their personal emotions while they, themselves, still have no ligths in their homes; four days after the storm. i cannot tell people to be nice or think of others but what i can do is sing for the unsung heroes working in the midst of uncertainty and strife. thank you for being strength in a time of weakness! special thanks to h-e-b workers: alex, sherida, sanovia, jariel, claudia, rowan, chloe!

Typical watermelon

This is not a flagship store for sure. The photo of the melon I just purchased is not an uncommon occurrence. They need to be more selective with their vendors. Slice open a few melons and if they look like this send the shipment back until they find a vendor that knows how to grow good melons consistently. Their display of red & juicy slices have a different color rind than the melons that are on display. Very misleading.

What's not to like. Huge selections of just about every grocery and the deli counter featured many Boar's Head meats.

The layout of this store is completely different from the Kingwood Drive and Summerwood locations, but it's easy to navigate.

I started shopping in this store after my primary and backup grocery stores flooded during…read morehurricane Harvey. I wanted to give this store more stars but I just couldn't because of a few huge issues. The store is freaking huge! That's not necessarily a good thing. It's likely as large or larger than a super Walmart. There really is no reason for the store to be this darn big! It has an indoor, and outdoor furniture section. It has lamps and accessories for the home. It has plants, shrubs etc. it even has clothes and shoes! These aren't things I'm bothered by, but the way the store is laid out you have to visit all these areas to get the groceries you need. Of course it also had groceries, but nowhere near the selection HEB carries. Prices are crazy, and I assume that they are only this high because of lack of competition because all other stores flooded in the area. I can't see how they could stay in business otherwise, with prices this high.

No one should shop here. There are never enough checkers so you use the self check. The problem…read morewith that is the self check machines at Kroger are the worst that I have ever seen. They screw up consistently and then the 16 year old snot nose clerk comes over and in front of you goes through the video to see if you are a thief before the will restart the machine. It is disgusting and demeaning. What they are doing is calling me a theif. I spend $200 in there weekly and they think I an going to put up with that behavior. The manager Wendy says that they are doing their job. Texans we do not need to shop there. We need to go somewhere where we will be respected. The bad actors that they are and Kroger want to treat us like criminals. Let's move them out of Texas. They do not deserve to be here.

With more than 420 stores in Texas and Mexico, the H-E-B grocery company is the fifth largest (by…read morerevenue) privately owned company in the U.S. It was founded in 1905 in Kerryville, Texas and became H-E-B when a successful 2nd store was launched in Del Rio, Texas, using the initials of the owner, Howard Edward Butt. I've experienced their take home Texas barbeque a couple of times, and was excited when my brother let me know that his local H-E-B had a Bayou Boil House (not all do), serving up Louisiana Crawfish boils during the weekend. The stand is located at the front entrance of the store where the carts are located (similarly where a hot dog stand would be if in a Midwestern store). It is manned by two H-E-B employees, with coolers stocked with the already cooked seafood and vegetables. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived an hour before closing (closing at 6pm), they were out of crawfish (would have been $6.97 per pound). Instead we got shrimp (headless and deveined, shell-on for $12.97 per pound), with corn and potatoes ($2.97 per pound), sausage ($7.97 per pound). Snow Crab would have been $16.97, though I never think it is worth it. It is all mixed together in a large durable plastic bag. We brought it back home, and I ended up eating it for dinner and the following breakfast. Everything was really good: nothing was overcooked (i.e. mealy or mushy), the sausage was a good andouille, and the old bay type seasoning was just right. They could definitely elevate it up a couple of notches if replicating a Viet-Cajun sauce, that is very popular in the Houston area. But as it is, definitely a winner...along with their Texas brisket, makes me wish an H-E-B was visitable from where we live.
