This happened on MAY 12 2026 WOW wow I can't believe the treatment of the owner this evening. My best friends are black and the treatment they received tonight was less than. When tried to speak with the owner he blew up at them claiming to be an all inclusive establishments. I ask everyone to think about this question. If it is why did he not ask calmly about the situation and take time to listen. Instead he was offensive and attacked my friend. No attempt to take time to be compassionate. Ok think about this the happy hour crowd makes a mass exodus when the night manager comes in and they are open about the reason is because of him. Maybe the owner needs to take time to find out the reason for that. Cool the attitude and not snap at people. We don't need you. You need us. When you blind yourself to the truth you are not able to learn and take the steps necessary to make changes. It's time for everyone to stand up against prejudices. Whether you see it or not. The new life of The Roosters is wonderful to see. Completely refreshed, redecorated, reopened, it has been a long time for us waiting for our Roo to reopen. I can report: it was worth the wait! They now serve food & they got a damn good chef!!! The Very Best of bar food, elevated but not eclipsed with anything pretentious or beyond their capabilities. The chef clearly knows what he's doing. We have not been to a gay bar in a long time so because we were out of town and had some time on our hands we thought we would pop into Roosters. We were only going to stay for 1 or 2 drinks so we went in with no expectations...except for a decent drink. The bar was nothing special, but the service was excellent. The bartender poured good drinks and made great conversation. We were offered popcorn, which always goes good with alcohol. After a couple of hours, a large group of people start dancing so I joined in and had a great time. Overall, we had a wonderful time at Roosters and would go back. read more

Visited via Miami and Wilton Manors Ft. Lauderdale. Was bitch slapped by "Mellissa St John" who performed "MacCarthers Park" by Donna Summer and "Dream On" by Aerosmith..... flawless and the bitch is fierce. Never heard this one by a queen.? I know them all. Worked the line up from Penny's, Mad Hatter, Fort Dix ended up at G. Rooster. Cheap drinks, fun staff, great show and cool room with outdoor patio to boot. Wow! This is a small fun local gay bar. I went to hear Victor sing - he was great. The service is great. Mostly med but I feel welcome as a woman. They recently did some updating ayes and the bar is much nicer. There is a great little patio in the back also.. definitely a fun plaace for a quIck drink or a night out. read more

This bar has been running 31 years strong and has quite a history. Recent renovations have made it even better yet. Smoking has been moved to back patio which has worked out well. I've been to Roosters a few times with my best friend and, out of all the gay bars in So Flo that I've been to, I have to say it's my favorite. It's kind of divey, but in a way that I really enjoy, and all of the bartenders are adorable, funny, and so sweet and friendly. There's a sizable parking lot and you can smoke indoors, too. The crowd is maybe slightly on the older side, but it's not like you'll be sitting around and drinking with a bunch of grandpas. My one complaint is that the bathrooms are a little eh, but I guess I never expect bar bathrooms to be bastions of cleanliness, so it's really not a big deal. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I live in an area where there are no gay places so when I do go out, I drive quite a distance. When I got there, the bartender on duty was sweet (as usual) but the manager treated me like dirt. I sat at the bar with an empty glass (waiting to buy another drink. My second) when the manager walked over and asked the customer next to me if he was being served. When the gent answered in the affirmative, he just walked away. I sat with my money on the bar for another 10 minutes before I gave up. Customer service is non-existent where the night shift is concerned. I drove the hour return trip home feeling dejected and insulted. read more

I usually never write negative reviews about places because I think the service eventually speaks for itself and people will see it for themselves but last night (Christmas 12/25/2018) I received the WORST service I've EVER experienced at a bar. I was speaking with a friend and I asked, who I believe is the Manager for a drink. He's the tall bearded unhappy soul with a horrible attitude. I continue to speak to my friend and he walks back and rudely says $4. I happily say ok and I walk to the table where my purse is at to get my money. I walk back over to the bar, open my purse and begin to take my money out to give to him. My friend and I begin talking and laughing again. The unhappy soul then rolls his eyes at me takes the drink and THROWS it out! I said, "Excuse me! I have the money in my hand I'm ready to pay!" He then says, "Too bad, I was sick of waiting!" My jaw dropped and I literally had to laugh because I could not BELIEVE someone had the audacity to be that insanely rude and it took 15 seconds for me to walk from the bar to the table behind me to get my purse. I told his co-worker that he really needs to be careful because you don't know who's who and you don't ever treat anyone with such disrespect. The other bartender then made me a drink which I didn't even want but my friend wanted to pay for it because he too couldn't believe the disrespect. To be honest, It's unfortunate that a place where you'd expect people to show the most love toward one another was actually showing the opposite and such utter disrespect. I get people have bad days but if you're that unhappy with your job that you want to spread negativity around like that, don't work in the service industry. It's simple. read more
