My son is 18 and regularly attends the Friday and Saturday night lessons with zero issues. It's actually one of the few places around that offers a safe, structured environment for younger people to learn and enjoy country dancing. As for staff and security--being firm is not the same as being "egotistical." They're managing a busy venue, and from what I've seen, they handle it professionally and keep things under control, which makes the whole place more enjoyable for everyone. The food is exactly what you'd expect for a lively night out--solid and satisfying--and the overall atmosphere is what keeps people coming back: great music, dancing, and a good crowd. When I approached them to see what the issue was, I was threatened physically by the man arguing with my girl, and told her had his "boy: there to back him up. Soon after this, even though I didn't lay a hand on anyone, I get physically pushed and prodded by the owner/ manager himself, Jeremy. I simply asked what the problem was and got a swift dose of disrespect. As I stated, I never got physical with anyone there and to be treated like this by the owner is just disgusting. I spoke with him briefly after everyone had calmed down and the idiots had left the bar. The owner seemed to have no remorse, and no justification for what he did to me. I really should have made a case out of this and pressed formal charges. I'm sure their security cameras captured the entire scene, and they would tell the tale exactly the same. I chose not to get physical with anyone since it was obvious the owner had taken their side over mine, and it was the right thing to do by just leaving at that point. Instead I will not honor them with my business any more, after almost 20 years of being a customer of theirs. I also will not support the owner's other business, Elmo's Rock Bar in Boynton Beach, who I had supported since they opened. I get that he may be a new owner, but that's not the way to run a business, and treating a long time customer this way is pretty shady in my book. So long Pit Row. No running water in the sinks, no hand sanitizer... nothing. So apparently we were all just expected to raw dog public restroom germs and head straight back to the dance floor. YIKES. The best part of the night was honestly the people watching. It felt like a live taping of Real Housewives of Palm Beach: designer outfits, dramatic entrances, suspiciously overfilled faces, and enough Botox in the room to stop time itself.
