Hate to say that we walked in.... and walked out. Not that this isn't our kind of place, but this wasn't our kind of place. It looked too dirty inside and reaked of cigarettes. There was a sign outside that said, "best sandwich" but I highly doubt it. There were plenty of people inside at the bar and a few sitting outside at a table who looked like they were enjoying themselves. Good luck to those who venture in, but we definitely won't be back. read more

While staying at the Ray, we noticed this Irish pub right across from it. We walked by and went inside. Richie was working and introduced himself to us. He was awesome and introduced us to the people that trickled in! We ended up staying there most of the afternoon and had one of the best times ever! Rude bartenders- took over 10 minutes (Saturday 4/16/22 around 11p) patiently sitting at the bar before I was able to get "muscle man" to acknowledge me. I asked what bourbon/ whiskeys they had - after told they didn't have Woodford, Angels Envy or Gentlemen Jack. He pointed to the wall and said that's it and walked away. Finally got his attention again and explained I couldn't see what was next to the Dewars with a cork stopper he said "I don't know" I asked if he would read the bottle and he said "no I don't have time to read you every thing we have" and walked away. I finally got the attention of the other bartender and asked if maybe he would help me -again asked which whiskey was next to the Dewars and he said "I don't have time to read you every one we have" and walked away. I guess when your "busy enough" you don't have to care about service. As a business owner I would want to know what was going on in my establishment- once season finishes you may want to know your locals (as a Florida native of 50 years I for one plan to share my experience with many friends and colleagues! From the reviews, I'm not the only one that has experienced the rudeness from these two (maybe more). This is not about the drinks or food at all this is the Bartender Heather. I'm sorry this girl has to be drunk or on drugs. I walk in ask for two drinks she puts down two napkins and gives me one beer and walks away....I said two coors she acts annoyed. Then Sunday playoffs game starts at 3 most of the patrons were there EVEN the poker guy wanted to watch football 3:15 she puts the game on after being asked 4 times. This isn't the first Sunday I've been there with her....she's not good for business. Everyone even makes jokes at the bar that she's high or drunk. Wont go back because of her and this use to be my favorite spot :( read more

the owner Heather is HORRIBLE i was just sitting there minding my own business i didn't even say anything to anyone except the bartender. i was waiting 15 minutes to get a second drink, the sweet older woman noticed i hadn't been helped in a while, she went and got the owner. she walked over to me with the nastiest attitude for absolutely no reason. when i wasn't sure what exact liqour the bartender used before, she said ordering with me was "like pulling teeth" when i told her there was no need to be rude , she got mad as hell for no reason then kicked me out? i used to be a regular and this woman treated me like that for what? place needs a face lift starting with the RUDEST OWNER IVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. woman needs better mental health meds because the ones she has now clearly aren't working. there are plenty of other 1 star ratings based around Heather specifically. The owner(Heather) pushed me and yelled at me to move because I was too close to her under a tent. I asked her not to put her hands on me and to please kindly ask someone to move. she then gave me the middle finger and started cursing at me. when I began to yell back she threatened to have me thrown about by security. she also tried to rip the drink out of my hand that I didn't even touch yet. "Security" came over and told me that she is crazy but usually nice and is just having a bad day. I don't care what kind of day your having. Who treats someone like that just because they are innocently standing too close. This place is just plain awful! read more

Do yourself a favor, take a detour to JW's and you will not regret it one bit. I was recently kicked out of Connors for talking about how much I love Trump. The owner told me to keep my beliefs to myself because he is loosing customers because of it. TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME is real folks.. I chose not to return to O'Connors and took a detour to JW and had a beautiful time, they have karreokie and you can be yourself there no discrimination there. You can keep your freedom of speech there and you can sing and just be yourself without anyone monitoring what you talk about. Come out and skip this boring bias place and come visit me at JW, maybe we can sing a Karaoke song together, they have Karreokie every night and the people there are not FAKE . read more

The bartenders began to insult me because I conversed with a gay couple at the bar, then they apparently 'lost' all of our credit cards, then threatened to call the cops. Just called in for a Guinness on a hot afternoon. Sat outside. Greated nicely and $8-50 a pint for Guinesss seems expensive but the same price as the Anchor on the main drag. The good news easy and straightforward street parking as apprised to parking meters and mayhem on the strip. Guinness good. Apparently 10 years old but I came here over twenty years ago and it is pretty much the same except higher prices. Certainly recommend it if you have walked along Pineapple grove or the railway tracks. You deserve it and no need for high heels to get a seat. read more

This is the second year that we chose O'Conner's for the St. Patty Day Parade pub crawl. Divey to the X degree, but just the place I want to sip a Guinness while listening to the Bag Pipes. This joint gets a little "hands on" for the female patrons if they do not have a large enough "personal security" as in big bad firefighters. (yes, that is coming from a chick fire fighter, I know). Our 2nd night visit was cut short when a little guy decided he was going to get all hands on and came face to face with our group's big boy. It took the drunk a minute to realize he was going to loose terribly. We will be back next year. I come with enough reinforcement, not to be worried. My friends and I loved having casual drinks at the bar until the roid raged bartender screamed at everyone to leave, which led him to physically assault our friend by placing his hands on his throat and throwing him to the ground, hitting his head. Absolutely uncalled for and to an innocent bystander trying to leave the bar. There was no apology or remorse, the drunk bartender even tried to continue to attack our friend to get everyone out of the bar. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Depending on what you are looking for, this is the real old downtown Delray deal. As the rest of downtown Delray is selling out to big dollar franchises, this pub is still family own and operated. When I was there, the owner's kids were hanging up Halloween decorations. It was obvious that their client base is mostly locals who know each other. It reminded me of a cross between Cheers and the pub from American Werewolf in London. Nothing fancy but entirely charming, again depending on what you are looking for. read more

Occasionally there's a live band (how they fit it in, I'll never know), but usually it's just the house mix playing. No elitism-- it's "come as you are" and popular among many of the folks who work in the hospitality industry in the downtown area.
