As for staff and security--being firm is not the same as being "egotistical." They're managing a busy venue, and from what I've seen, they handle it professionally and keep things under control, which makes the whole place more enjoyable for everyone. The food is exactly what you'd expect for a lively night out--solid and satisfying--and the overall atmosphere is what keeps people coming back: great music, dancing, and a good crowd. It was a pretty good place. Most of the bar tenders on the INSIDE of the bar are super friendly and nice. The only thing I didn't like is that they have panhandlers in the bathroom who put soap on your hands after using the restroom. Why? Im not sure I like to wash my own hands and then after they ask for a tip. One small negative is one of the bar tenders older guy who tends the outside seating area. Hes a bit rude sometimes. No matter how positive you try to be with him he clearly looks like he doesnt wanna work or interact with anyone there. I walked in with my group of 2, and was greeted by the security person who scanned our IDs, then we were directed to the cashier. The cashier did not even greet us and I handed her the funds to cover the entry fee for my sister and myself, and she was like "well you need another $10" to which my other party member went in to pay as well. We thanked her for our wristbands and I don't even think she acknowledged us once. Her tone was not friendly and so I did not have the best impression entering the facility, however, I didn't want that experience to dictate my whole night. The lighting and ambiance was fun, pleasant, and very fitting. The line dance instructor was super helpful, quick, but easy to follow! Music selection was diverse and catchy. My sister enjoyed her drink. And overall, it was a nice night. One of the employees from the venue uninstalled one of the tables for us to give us more space to study the dance moves lol, which was really kind of them! My girl friend and I way back when loved our honky tonk bars. We upped the ante and figured let's check out line dancing. We both barely drink so this was a nice alternative. If you go before 8 it's free otherwise it's $10 cover. Everyone was one their feet. It was so lively and fun! They give free lessons. I think the next time I go I'll rock daisy dukes and cowboy boots to fit in. This time I observed but by the time we were leaving I was starting to feel it and catch on. My daughters recently tried to visit Renegades and were extremely disappointed with how they were treated. Despite my daughter being 21 and fully responsible for her younger sister during their visit on family night, they were denied entry simply because a parent or legal guardian was not present.The policy does not state that on the website. I understand and respect the need for age restrictions, but the policy feels unnecessarily rigid. A responsible adult over 21 should be more than capable of accompanying a minor in a public setting -- especially in a family-friendly environment. There was no alcohol involved, no inappropriate event, just an unclear policy enforced with zero flexibility or empathy. The staff made no effort to offer alternatives or even explain the reasoning beyond "rules are rules." It felt dismissive and unwelcoming. The girls were looking forward to this outing before heading back to college and high school next week., It was frustrating for them to be turned away for something that, frankly, could have been handled with a bit more understanding and common sense. We just wanted to dance. We came out and the packing lot of packed. Learned they did a pretty nice bingo game. We ordered about 2 of each appetizer (egg rolls, gator bites, nachos, fries, spinach dip, wings, and the not quite chicken tenders), a few juices, and started our drink tab. The service wouldn't be considered friendly but it was efficient. Drinks came out fast and strong. By the time everyone had gotten through the first round the line dancing was just starting. The food came out in waves to our group 6. Nothing was bad but I wouldn't come specially for the food. The bingo game just got louder and louder. We close out and go in side with the last round of drinks. We danced until we couldn't feel our toes and then tip topped out. I went with a group of people who are interested in line dancing. I was very disappointed to find that they have no accommodations for disabled people inside! Every chair in the place was a tall chair that some disabled people or the elderly can't sit on. We ate our food in a hurry and left. Even though the menu said that our meal came with coleslaw, they served it with no coleslaw. When I asked about that, the waiter just said we don't have any coleslaw. He seemed shocked that I asked what were they substituting. He went away, leaving us feeling dismissed. He finally came back and we had looked at the sides menu and picked something from there. Although when the bill came, they charged us extra for that side! I think the restaurant had an interesting set up, I liked watching the line dancing, but it was very, very advanced... First off, I absolutely love the people and vibe of Renegades. It is a ton of fun. The food is excellent (for a bar) and you're not getting a nicer Americana experience. Bartenders are also very efficient, polite and engaging. Are there some strange men inside? Yes. But they're everywhere. Only thing negative about the patrons that I've experienced are groups of guys that seem very interested in other men and can get too close for comfort at the bar. Nevertheless, they're still polite enough to kind of back off when requested. Ultimately not a major problem. Having said all that, there is one staff member who is extremely aggressive and rude. I feel like he's trying to taunt me and others to react negatively toward him so that we get exited or banned or into a physical altercation. Of course, I have never let on anything nor would I but I can imagine all the people who never come back here after dealing with him. I don't even need to mention who he is because I can guarantee you the staff and management already know. In fact, I'm sure of it based on what I have heard while observing this gentleman in action. I've not complained to upper management nor will I. And maybe he's a nice guy who just needs a better understanding that the patrons here pay his bills and we are not the enemy. Also I can understand having to represent a bit of a tough exterior to keep people in line at a bar like this. First time at renegades. It was pretty fun. The micro wrestling federation event was there. The bar snacks are pretty good. We had the grill cheese and gator bites. I was impressed not to bad. The drinks were definitely heavy on the liquor so no complaints. Cool spot to check out for an event. Plenty of parking and it's a pretty big place. read more

Went on a Wednesday to attend the dance lesson and discovered it was family night = A LOT of teens. Dance floor was packed. Too packed. I had a great time, instructor taught at least 3 dances maybe more but because the floor was so packed we went out to bingo. They allow smoking on the patio so we only stayed for 1 game. As we left, the huge line that wrapped around the patio was gone! Not sure how they were allowed in since it was already beyond capacity while we were there. I know cover started at 8p and it was just turning to 8 so maybe that's why? I'd like to return on a different night to see if it's less busy. Bartender was unclear on the 2 for 1 drink special. Seems it applied to draft beers and liquor, not bottles, so just a heads up. read more

Wednesday was a mash of many things: family night, beginner lessons, birthday parties and billiards. With minutes, the place filled up. Two bars, one on each end of the dance floor. Several long tables in a corner for some large groups. For additional entertainment, 2 pool tables requiring $2 of quarters. Most amazing part of the evening was Bartender Steve! He's a one-man show!! No matter how busy it got, he took care of everyone! Lots of lessons to learn. But, also fun to watch. read more

For me this place has come along ways. I've been a few times and just being candid I didn't feel welcomed by the staff at all, nonetheless I never really let that bother me from going back. I dined in on a Wednesday night which happens to be a night they offer line dancing and bingo, the bingo is located on the outside patio with prizes awarded. This go around our sever was a sweet girl from the Bahamas. She took our drink orders I immediately and then the food order. Both which came out quick, a plus as we were hungry. She checked in periodically and even asked us if we wanted to join in on the line dancing. This was a much better experience for me. There was Happy Hour going on but by the time I remembered it, it ended but the deal was 2 for 1 drinks. Lots of parking on either side of the building. read more

Came here Saturday night at about 11:30 pm with two friends. We love country music and country dancing. We were looking for a country dance place after attending the Alan Jackson Concert at the Coral Sky Amphitheater, and saw that they had an Alan Jackson concert "After Party". It is a shame that the staff here made us not want to ever come here again. On the plus side, the place has a decent size dance floor and is nonsmoking inside. The cover charge was a fair $5 and the drinks seemed reasonable priced. They were playing lots of popular line dances. If you want to do the two-step or swing, however, you may not want to come here because they didn't play hardly any. On the negative side, they really know how to make a patron not feel valued. We noticed that no Alan Jackson songs were being played at the Alan Jackson "After Party," so my friend mentioned something to the manager and he said that you can make a request. I went to the DJ booth to make a request for the song "Good Time," which is also a popular line dance. The DJ very nicely said he would play it "soon." We waited an hour and it wasn't played. My other friend, went up to the DJ to ask again about playing it, and the DJ said he would play it after the next song. He didn't. My friend went to talk to the manager, and his reaction showed that he didn't care at all about making us happy, and instead got very defensive. The issue here was not a major deal, we didn't want any money back, we just wanted a song played, that they agreed to play!!! Was it because we were 40+ and not in our 20's like most of the people there at the time? I hope not. Maybe the general manager needs to alter his customer service skills. At a prime time for a night club, after a major concert, the place was not busy at all, there were many empty seats and tables and lots of free space on the dance floor. We passed by another country night club, "Double-D's," first and they had a line full of cars waiting to get in and park. Honestly, if this attitudes is not a fluke, I don't know how long this club will last. Right before we left, they played an Alan Jackson song, but not the one we requested. As we were waling out, the manager says to us sarcastically like a pubescent high school student "hope you enjoyed the Alan Jackson song." Nice touch. read more

Came here in '19 with my girlfriend for a Halloween event with some of her friends. It was my first visit, and will certainly be my last. As I initially approached the bar (there are 4, three inside and one outside), a small husky woman in her mid to late twenties dressed as one of the nightmare before Christmas characters served my drinks. I was the one purchasing drinks for both my girlfriend and myself, and I wasn't light on my pocket. Immediately, I noticed the bartender's unwaivering attitude and disrespect towards her customers. She was clearly an unhappy human being, sadly enough. What was more unfortunate is how that reflected on her work, as well as the people at the bar (including me) buying drinks. After about my 6th drink (3 drinks a piece between my girlfriend and I), I was getting thirsty, for you know, water. At this point I was outside enjoying the warm weather at the time, and asked the bartender there if I could have a water. He immediately responded, "$2". I was stunned. I said I only wanted tap, and he then told me, with an extremely defensive tone, "sorry man, sorry I can't do anything, that's what they tell me to do, you have to buy a bottled water I don't have a choice!". So, I said alright and walked back inside to the "friendly" lady dressed as Sally from the Nightmare before Christmas. As my intuition told me, she was even worse. Not only did she become extremely defensive and angry, but she told me that the tap water would cost me $2. A friend on mine that was ordering a drink right next to me, who was a regular, kindly said to the lady, "don't worry, I'll get it for him.". The bartender harshly came back with a, "Stay out of it, this is none of your business", and I then tried to calm the situation, asking her the simple reason for a charge on tap water (which I could get free of charge in the restroom faucet). Sally (let's call her that for now, I don't remember her name), told me those were the rules at their bar, and became even more defensive than the last bartender, stating, "it does not go against any Florida laws, and we aren't required to serve you water at any time.". I was astounded. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Clearly, tap water costs virtually nothing. I looked it up to be sure and verified this with the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) with a quick Google search, and it happens to cost $2 for every thousand gallons of tap water. That's right, one thousand gallons. She finally ended up giving me the tap water fee of charge to me she said. She explained she would have to pay the $2 for the tap water, so it was coming out of her pocket. In other words, I better appreciate that tap water! She said she only gave it to me because I had already ordered several drinks. I eventually went to a third bartender at the end of the night, who I discussed my previous debacle with. He was like, "dude, you can have as much tap water as you want, it's tap water. There's no way I'm charging you." And guess what? I bought one drink from the guy. Long story short, clearly management at Renegades is a joke. This of course includes the short husky woman who was either daft or crazy enough to think tap water actually cost $2. Can you imagine if someone asks for a water to sober up, and they are denied it? There's a lawsuit just waiting to happen. read more

I never thought I would have landed up here last night, but I did and it was fun. A group of girlfriends and I decided to come here for some drinks and do some people watching. The bar has a huge dance floor and the DJ was playing a variety of music other than country. I even got out on the floor and did a dance. To the left to the left...to the right to the right. The drinks were cheap and the bartender was good. I was expecting more of a crowd for a Saturday night, but it was probably a good thing that it wasn't. I seen more than a fair share of people and what was going out on the dance floor. Plus, I had no idea they served food there. They even have a mechanical bull for extra entertainment. If I knew that I wouldn't make a jack ass out of myself, I would have probably went up there and swung around until my back gave out. No, but no thanks...lol! read more

I witnessed two bouncers throw a small female outside and follow her two the main road. Then a blonde female screaming she was the owner follow her with a cell phone. I believe they both argued law enforcement was on the way. The patron was chased by two tall male bouncers and one female that said she couldn't be in the parking lot to get to her ride. From the outside doors I witnessed them yelling in the main road that the club owns the that road and she could not stand on the street. This lady was standing in the middle of the main road and they were yelling it was their property. What I witnessed appeared to be signs of torture. I did see the small lady and the bouncers having a nice time in a corner of the establishment prior to this. I wonder what went wrong? The food was not good so I took another star. The bartenders were complaining there was no waitresses. They said none haven't been showing up. Empty tables had reserved signs that never got taken. I give one star for the music. It was not country much but I am not the biggest country fan so the music is why it's not zero stars. I randomly visited Renegades while looking for a late night spot to eat in WPB. They were open and the music drew me in. Very spacious place! It had a country feel to it, which I loved and the country music was blaring. Awesome!!! What I didn't like was the lack of welcome and service. After wandering in, the waitresses were no help in saying hi or advising where to sit. Rude. Bad customer service doesnt bode well for the face of a business. But whatever. After picking my own seat to sit at and sitting there for 10 mins or so without any attention, I was like screw it, I'll just go to the bar. Thank the sweetheart that was a bartender! Blonde chick, I can't remember her name. She was a cutie. She made sure to accomdate my food and drink orders. I made sure to tip her well. Food was okay. It did the job and had enough flavor to where I wouldn't want to puke it back up. That's never fun. Drinks were decent and reasonably priced as well. I totally enjoyed the line dancing. The dance floor is so big! Oh, there is a neat patio area as well to enjoy the weather on. If I remember correctly, they were playing music that more people might recognize commonly. Renegades is a very nice Country & Western style bar with quite good food. Diane and I had a spectacular buffet for the benefit of veterans. I started with a really good sausage, pepper and onion dish followed by chicken with pineapple that was equally good. Tasty Cole slaw, beautiful Potato salad and nice chicken wings with delicious blue cheese dressing for a topping accompanied these great foods along with pigs in a blanket. They also had excellent mac n cheese, a vegetable medley, and baked beans that were simply scrumptious (not usually one of my favorites) but these were a magnificent side dish. Hot chocolate brownie a la mode and apple cobbler for dessert hit the spot. I had a few ice cold Bud Light beers (half price for happy hour--$2.50 each). They went perfectly with this great meal. The service was great. I really enjoyed everything! Renegades is huge and extremely clean. Parking was very easy. Everyone was very nice. I had a great time. I usually am not a big fan of these kind of bars, but this was just terrific. Great live music was provided throughout the evening. My appetite was completely satisfied by this fabulous food. I loved to take my kids here for Wednesday Family night. The kids enjoyed dancing and we enjoyed watching them. The drinks are 3 for 1, and we always bough the Restaurant.com certificates, so we could take the kids there, have a decent meal and a few drinks for a reasonable price. Service has always been mediocre to not good. We went for a friend's bday. We ordered the appetizer that is normally half off, we had a few rounds of drinks and ordered dinner. As usual, the food was decent, but not great. When the bill came, 6 beers, one appetizer, a chicken sandwich and hamburger came to $55.00, we tried to give our restaurant.com certificate, but were told because we had received drink specials, we were unable to use it. We were also told that yes, the appetizers were advertised as half off, but you only got that price if you sat at the bar..,, Overall, the food isn't great, the staff is decent at best.
