They have electronics, computers, and miscellaneous mechanical stuff (metal stock, plastic stock, etc) I believe they also deal in scrap metals by the pound, if you happen to have a ton of scrap brass rods or something. There's a cool vibe here where local artists (that, I assume, have used parts from P&T Surplus to create sculpture and other mixed-media art) have pieces on display. They also have a really large section of obsolete computers and parts, which is good if you need to replace an ISA card or some other kind of 10+ year old computer part that nobody seems to sell any more. To me, surplus stores are about picking up obsolete electronics for experimentation and parts, not art, but hey, if that's what keeps this place going, then I'm happy for it. The prices are not marked on a lot of the surplus items, so you have to go ask at the counter. The prices can be a little high, but luckily they are quite nice there, and sometimes you can dicker with them a little. One thing that is a little weird is that a lot of the electronic surplus seems to come from IBM (some of it is still labelled) and I always wonder if they came upon it honestly. I think they probably have some kind of deal to purchase the IBM scrap, but you never know. Anyway, there really are no other options in the area for an electronics junk-hound like me. Within a few seconds, I picked one out and handed it to the employee. I had only my CashApp card on me, as well as my Apple Watch (for Apple Pay), and when I saw the touchless/contactless terminal, I was astounded to find these in this location - in a smaller town. I knew the Williams Lumber headquarters had had Apple Pay terminals for years, but I wasn't expecting Apple Pay here, and after a few moments, out I was - receipt in hand ready to walk back home - a tiny bit more than 1 mile. There was no mention on the door of what payment choices this place had, and I hadn't checked the Yelp page before I left home to see what they offered. A little more research and I might have had some idea of what was offered here, because in the past, it's always been a little troublesome knowing just what to expect even though I'd written other reviews knowledgeable and with other experiences, because a little rain and an umbrella can't keep me away when I need a thing or two in a pinch and only have two feet to get me where I need to go when car-travels weren't an option.

I purchased solar panels from Lexi but since Harbor Freight in Kingston did not have the Power Station I needed, she was good enough to contact a sister store in Poughkeepsie and have one reserved for me. Although I was unable to purchase any items during my once-over, I found this place a little bit barren. It's got the tools alright, but very few employees were hovering around the floor, looking to help customers. Even though I had no ideas for stuff to look at, getting out to look at something I hadn't looked at before since its change in 2021-2022 (forgotten when this was converted from an Office Depot), wasn't found to be too frightening. Value for quantity seemed fair, though some things are higher than others. However, where this chain seems to drop is in value for quality. Even though they have some of the better names, I remember purchasing stuff in 2020 at your Poughkeepsie location that didn't last 2 weeks - but that's a whole other story in itself. Walking into this location is like a maze. They have you enter through a turnstile once you get through the double sets of doors, and something I hadn't seen at most Harbor Freights in the past (to a point where not even Poughkeepsie's had this layout). It's a good thing this turnstile was still functional and didn't break. However, maybe in the future, I'll take a further look when money becomes available.

At 3 weeks, when I hadn't heard back, I stopped in to inquire. I was told the Service Dept was waiting on a gasket. I never heard anything again. Today, 5 weeks after I dropped off the machine, I was informed that the machine's pump has malfunctioned, and that I would need to buy a new machine. Look, I get it. It's hard to repair equipment. But it's not hard to pick up a phone and keep a customer informed of what's happening. That's the value proposition of doing business with a local store instead of a big box chain. Or so I thought. I'm in the market for a new pressure washer. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
