I'm updating my review because of a negative experience I had today... This is still one of my favorite grocery stores... However, beware of the little lady that runs the bakery department... She is a insane when it comes to the baked goods... After I checked out, I decided to go explore the unique bakery department because obviously, I'm not Asian, so all the baked goods intrigue me... So I'm looking over all the selections of stuffed baked goods... Now, the key word is "stuffed", because all the goods were labeled with the inside ingredients... i.e.- Donut w/red bean or Custard filled pancakes... Now, with these explanations I don't have to guess what is inside. However, there was one bun that just read "Croquette"?? Ok, so I can see that it's deep fried and filled with something but with what?? It was neatly wrapped in plastic, so I picked it up to see if I could determine it's inner glory and out of no where, the guardian of the baked delights ran over to me with a nasty look on her face and snatched it out of my hand, while mumbling words in another language... I could see she was upset but I didn't know I was not allowed to touch or question anything that was spread out on the table for purchase. She must have signaled for back up, because another woman comes up behind me and decided to explain how particular the protector of baked good was in reference to disturbing her precious table... Under normal circumstances, I'd just walk away but today, I got time, Cuz!!! Don't get mad at me because I'm unfamiliar with what you stuff your croquettes with!!! Also, if your that "particular" with your baked goods, then take the time to label them "ALL" correctly, so no one has to ask the Inn Keeper, any questions... It's already bad enuff she sits and hovers over the table watching your every move... This may seem petty but her nasty disposition disturbed me and I was just not feeling her... H Mart - Finally got a croquette, filled with veggies!!! - Grocery Near Me - Cherry Hill, New Jersey

I shopped here for the first time today and it was the most exciting grocery trip I've ever been on. Disclaimer, this is the only H Mart I've ever been to, but I've frequented other Korean/Asian/specialty supermarkets across NJ and Philly and the selection here is phenomenal. They have all the standard meat, produce, and dry good options, but also pretty much every single specialty ingredient I've searched high and low for and thought I would never find: beef shank (!) choy sum (!!), whole fresh jackfruit (!!!!!!). GREAT prices on frozen and fresh seafood, especially fresh head-off shrimp for 5.99/lb and really cheap frozen snow crab legs. In the COVID era, I'm celebrating my birthday this weekend with homemade pho. H Mart has me MORE than prepared to make it a fantastic dinner and night. You guys will now be seeing a lot of me for my weekly grocery shopping :) read more

Now that we have to use reusable bags. Why don't supermarkets such as these bags your groceries like they did before even if you hand them the bag, they just act like it's an invisible thing and just expect you to bag yourself and they just stay there and watch you. If you are going to expect me to pack my own groceries, then at least take down the Covid barriers so that it gives me some room to put my stuff in the bag. read more

Although smaller than the Edison location,the grocery offers a variety of Asian ingredients and delicacies across the board. The entrance is a bit confusing as you have to go down into the back of the building. Friendly and helpful staff are definitely a plus. Great supermarket to go to if you're looking for Asian (Mainly Korean) ingredients, supplies and etc. In general it's a very small store, but they actually have a decently large variety of things. I haven't had much trouble with locating ingredients from this particular market and they keep it relatively clean. FYI...most Asian markets tend to be pretty dirty and smelly, but H-Marts in general do not have that "Asian" fishy smell. The only area I find dirty or annoying to navigate around is the Bathroom and "equipment" area. This area has cookware, dishes and other misc. items and is located near the bathroom and it's hard to navigate around due to how tight the are is. The bathroom is just a tiny bit more clean than most Asian markets (trust me I don't know why...) but it's still not my favorite place to go do business unless I REALLY have to go... This H-Mart also has a lot of samples during the weekend, which I find really nice, because it definitely grabs you in to try their food. This place also has a tiny bakery up front with small baked goods. The cakes look super pretty, so if you're trying to look for a nice cake place nearby this is probably the best around. I haven't personally tried it, so don't vouch me on taste! If I HAVE to compare the bakery it's semi close to a Paris Baguette or Tous Le Jour if you've ever been to one of those, just a lot smaller and less variety. This place was clean, well stocked, and the fruit and veg looked lovely. Came here hoping for a good selection meat for shabu shabu and was not disappointed! The entire meat and seafood section was so much nicer than the Hmart in Upper Darby, much cleaner and seemed like there were more options for beef and pork. Very happy. Pro: A one-stop shop for all your Korean/Pan-Asian shopping needs! I admit that I'm a bit late to the proverbial game when it comes to appreciation for Korean food. But once it was introduced to me, I was not only hooked; I needed to find a way to make these delights happen in my kitchen. Ladies and gents, I present to you....H-Mart! This place boasts a large variety of kimchi: cabbage, radish, cucumber...you name it! More importantly, the selections of sliced beef/pork, short ribs, and chicken are abundant. One can either season their own (and yes, there are plenty of marinade options in the store) or buy some pre-marinated choices (that make it almost dummy-proof to cook and enjoy). Explore the rest of the store and you can find just about anything that the far east can offer: bulk rice, baked goods, frozen items, cooking ware, specialty soft drinks, and an impressive surplus of seafood! Con: The parking lot makes the place look a bit abandoned. Never mind it. You're there to shop, not sight-see! Bottom Line: It's a must in my kitchen. Make it a must in yours! read more

Whenever I shop at this H Mart I always think if the Clash Song, 'Lost in the Super Market.' It's not that I can, "no longer shop happily." I can and I do. And it's not that as I'm so euphorically loading up my basket with all my ingredients that I lose all sense and bearings. I'm telling you that I legitimately get lost in this place. Oooh man do I love an H Mart. This Cherry Hill location got some twisty turny aisles and some kinda really nutsy layout... There are all these random mirrored pillars in the middle of nowhere... What was this place before it was a wonderland of Asian ingredients?! The only thing that has me not frantically screaming, "Is this some kinda gahdamn funhouse?!" is the fact that those mirrors fairly slimming, so like, hey alright. Anyway, as it is printed on H Mart's shopping bags, it is so: "The Best of Asia in America." I'll agree with that shopping bag slogan. I consistently find what I'm out to buy, eventually. I do tend to be sauce and condiment heavy on these excursions. Those bags of mine are heavy with tubs, jars, and cans a-plenty. I stock up on gochujang, sambal olek, fish sauce, fermented black beans, Bulldog tonkatsu sauce, Lee Kum Kee oyster and hoisin...the now ubiquitous Huy Fong Sriracha... and on and on. Tons of different brands here. I appreciate the many choices cause I tend to be a brand loyal type o' gal, and, for instance, I need to have Pearl River Bridge Mushroom Soy sauce on hand at all times for secret recipe or two. So you'll find all manner of noodles, nori, miso, tofu, kimchi, frozen dumplings, everything, everything... Now it's just like I'm just reading off my grocery list to you. Lemme add, the produce section is extensive and wonderful too. Roots and gourds galore! Give me all the herbs and chiles. Good times. The only thing you won't find here is the food court that other H Marts offer. That's the only thing I miss: Shopping and a lunch reward. Ah well. Han Ah Reum, I always leave with way more than one armful of groceries. Ya one of my main marts. I get lost but I'm not complaining. read more

I love H Mart!! It has all your Korean super market needs along with a good selection of other Asian products as well. I love coming here to buy Yakult, the little yogurt drinks, and H Mart has been the cheapest place I could find them. (I've realized some other places have raised the prices on the yogurt drinks after it got more popular). I also LOVE the bakery in here!!! The lady is super nice and once even gave my family a free bakery bread. I highly recommend the tiramisu cake or the matcha cake as we get them often for birthdays and parties and they've always been popular!!! read more

If you really want the best asian/korean groceries you have to shop around. H Mart has some things that they are good for. and some things they are weak in, i think as the same with Asian Food Markets, Wegmans etc. What are they good in? Well asian centric vegetables that you cannot find at product junction. also when you pick the veggies, inspect, inspect. When they runs stuff on sale (which change and renew every thursday) its a good price. You can hammer the loss leaders then. Seafood: Their fresh fish is good. Salmon is way over priced. Meat: Their marinated meats are ok, but the top layer of meat is the prettiest meat you will find, with the ugly step sister hiding below. Spices and seasoning are good. The Hae-O Reum (house brand) can sometimes be a little weak. I prefer the Choripdong brand. (you will see a logo of a cartoon guy) The charm of the rice pop guy is cool and his snacks are cheap and healthy. make a spreadsheet or email yourself prices, to compare with wegmans or other places. Also: always check the dates on their tofu in packs. they dont seem to rotate well, and honestly , if you tell the employees, they say OK and toss it, but dont rush to the shelf to take the expired stuff off the shelves. read more

Absolutely the best Asian market in the area, Korea-based H Mart on Route 70 (located behind a pretty good Korean restaurant, Beawon) offers Korean and Japanese food products with low prices on fruits and veg -- including the ones you'll find only here. That funny smell common to many Asian markets is thankfully nowhere to be smelled around here. I got my mom hooked on H Mart and now even she's a fan in the produce department. Fresh seafood and of course who has time to make their own kimchee anymore? The crooked and slanted aisles making navigating this odd-shaped market a bit of a challenge, but what's your rush? Lots of ajummas with samples along the way to fortify you. Procrastinators beware, this is not a 24 hour Acme supermarket. Closing time is 9:30pm. read more

H Mart is Asian grocery heaven. It is marketed as Korean grocery, but its popularity has brought them to increase their range to all kinds of Asian, and even some Indian and Mexican. Other Asian stores may be have a bit cheaper produce, but their quality is dubious. H Mart's produce is good quality at a decent price, and they have some hard to find items like culantro (no fresh wasabi or galangal though!). Their fish, meats, and prepared foods have never disappointed me either. I highly recommend the bulgogi (even if it is a tad pricey). They have quite a variety of nearly everything from roe, to seaweed, to noodles. They also have a discount card--if you spend $30 or more you take it to the counter for 1% cashback. When it's filled you get a coupon for credit. It takes forever, especially since ramen and rice don't count (which is incredibly infuriating when you buy 10lb+ bags). But, I go there often enough that I may as well get my cashback. I recommend the Cherry Hill location because they have a popped rice cake guy. He's a cute old man who'll give you a free rice cake before you buy a bag (I go for the green tea poppers). read more

When Wan Sheng closed in Chinatown, I knew I was in trouble. No other grocery store in my neighborhood offers a pleasant grocery shopping experience without a full on nasal assault from the fish and other mysterious ingredients that wonderful Asian foods are made from. Where oh where would I be able to buy my pork, leek, and black mushroom dumplings without making them by hand? Where was I going to get a package of spring rolls and pork buns for steaming? As I was driving home from church Sunday morning, there it appeared like an oasis in suburban America...a whisper on my lips sighed "H-Mart!" In I walked to a produce section full of bright colored fruits and vegetables, side lined with fresh made sushi and pre-packaged prepared foods. Around back was a fantastic fish section that did not leave me holding my breath in a test to see how far I could get without exhaling. This trip was a rush job for dumplings, buns, and spring rolls so I didn't get a chance to check out pricing on fish and meats but it seemed as though they had a large and varied selection. Aisles and aisles paved the way of intriguing as to the hundreds of types of noodles and soy sauces available for purchase. I wish I had more time to check everything out, but will most definitely be back again. Hooray H-Mart! read more

We come here about once a month to stock up on our Korean and Asian goods since it's almost a 1 hour drive from home. I'm so happy that it's not further though. Since there is no HMart closer to home, it's really nice for my wife so she doesn't get too homesick. Everything in here that I've encountered has been great. We love the fresh food cooked when you walk in to the left hand side. The produce area has everything we want/need as well as a few bonuses such as larger scallions (as opposed to regular thin ones we buy at our local super market). We'll brush it with miso and grill it. Yum! We can also get other non-Korean foods which my mom likes since she can get some of her needed Japanese goods without having to drive up to Mitsuwa in northern NJ. They do have a rewards program. You get a card they swipe. If you forget your card, don't worry. Just bring in your receipt the next time you go and they'll add it in your card. My favorite part of this Cherry Hill location is the bakery. An older lady and husband team. The husband bakes the cakes, breads and other sweets in the back (which you can see him make) and his wife sells it at the bakery counter right after you check out your groceries at the cashier. She's often giving samples out on toothpicks. She doesn't speak English well however, you can understand her with her smile and motherly warmth she radiates out to her customers. it's almost like she's telling you "eat or you'll never grow up". I always end up buying a lot of stuff here: cream filled bread, tiramisu, chestnut bread and so much more. I bring some to my coworkers the next day and they love me. When I bring a cake, they adore me. Maybe it's your average Korean cake but it's FAR superior to cakes you buy at American supermarkets. Buy one and you'll see. Tastebuds don't lie. read more

This place is great. Being Korean, I come here probably every week. Cheap, grade-A produce, great kimchi, decent marinated meat (in Korean marinade), a variety of korean snacks and frozen products. I always get kimchi here, and it's consistently great. Their seafood selection is pretty fresh and cheap compared to other grocery stores (there are some places in Chinatown that are cheaper but the quality there is very questionable from the smell, feel, and look). The only thing missing at this location is that this H-Mart doesn't have a food court like the other H Marts in Philadelphia area. I have been to three H-Marts, and this one is fairly good relative to the others. Though from the outside the place may look small, it's actually quite large. The seafood here is usually fresh and well priced, the selection of meets tend to be fairly high in quality, (especially the ground pork) and the produce section its well priced, though the freshness has declined for a some of the fruits/veggies. Three best part of this store have to be either the selections of kimchi, noodle, or candy/snacks. It's a good change of pace from the nearby Wegman's and Shop Rite. read more

I know there are very large stores out on the West Coast, but for the East Coast, I think this place is extremely good. The store is well organized and clean. There is variety in terms of meat, produce, and seafood. There are prepared meals ready. Keep in mind this is a Korean market but there are other Asian products well represented. There is a decent selection of baked goods. There are weekly deliveries of Filipino baked goods. The staff is extremely nice. Overall, this was a great experience for me being new in Cherry Hill. read more

We shopped here for a couple of years but always noticed that the parking lot and surrounding area was filled with trash, litter, etc. We contacted them not once but twice to encourage them to do something but nothing ever changed. If they are unwilling to acknowledge and even occasionally clean up the exterior environment, then what does this suggest about the interior cleanliness of the store, how they handle produce, fruit, and other non pre-packaged products? And yes, the seafood area in the back did always project an unappealing odor and kept us from any purchases in that section. read more

I would only go here out of necessity for certain korean foods you cannot pickup at any other grocery store. Otherwise, I would advise you to get produce and meats and anything else fresh at Wegman's down the street. For example, I needed some shishito peppers and carefully looked at all of the packages - all had mold inside them. Also, check the "Best By:" and "Sell By:" dates on anything and everything in the store. I saw items with Sell By dates dating back to 2017 in their cooking sauce aisle. read more

The parking lot may look abandoned but once you get inside everything comes alive. They have a healthy selection of fruits and vegetables. At every step I was impressed by the products available here. The meat section was immaculate with perfectly sliced beef and pork packaged neatly. It goes on and on. I love this h-mart even better than the h-mart I'm closer to now in Philadelphia. It's just so big and clean, and they carry all sorts of stuff I just love to find in supermarkets. And for cheap, too. This is a Korean grocery chain, but it carries basically a lot of pan-Asian items. Example: For a long long time now, I've been searching for sunchokes (jerusaleum artichokes, whatever you prefer). I even went to Whole Foods Market and the Wegman's in Cherry Hill, no luck. Came here, wasn't even looking for it, saw it in the produce aisle as if it had always been there. AWESOME. seriously. They also have a ton of dried goods, cookies, crackers, noodles, snacks, candies, etc. A bakery section, a tea section, meats and seafood section, sushi needs section, etc. Basically almost everything you might need for well, anything. You won't find things like bread or cereal, or at least, any type of large assortment of them, but seriously, what you WILL find here, you probably won't need white bread or cereal afterwards anyway. I even found ikura here. Brought a 5lb case of it, and it was delicious. MMmmM.. ikuradon. :9 They also have a ready-made foods section with some sushi. To me though, the sushi tastes kind of weird. Maybe its korean style? They also have freshly made kimchi. It's right in a square with some Korean restaurants too. I think they might be affiliated. So go here anyway for great, fresh groceries and maybe even for lunch. read more

I've been dying to try this Korean market out, so I was very excited when my mom suggested going today. Honestly, I don't know how much Korean products are suppose to be priced but some things are a bit high. I know this because I went to the one in Philly and the prices were lower. One thing for sure, they have a large varies of preserved veggies (i.e kimchi) and side dishes. Also, their seafood selection is really fresh and doesn't have the strong seafood scent that most Asian supermarkets have. Overall, I think it's a great Korean market but I won't go back unless I'm in the Cherry Hill area. It's too far for me. I only go to the Korean market for three things: kimchi, miso paste and seaweed. I can just go to the Philly one when I'm in town. read more

When you walk in there's a fresh sushi bar, walk a little further and raw and cooked traditional Korean side dishes for sale. The produce department is the freshest. You can't beat Asian supermarkets when it comes to cheap and fresh produce, but this place takes it to another level. They have everything. The seafood is fresh, they have an in house fish guy, and a butcher. They even have a guy there sometimes that pop out really yummy HUGE rice cakes. you get like a stack a foot and half high for $1.99! read more

This is one of my usual stops when I make a trip down to South Jersey (and I am a 1.5 hour drive away from Cherry Hill). LOVE their assortment of ban chans and pre-marinated meats. I can spend $20 and be well-fed for the next week, it is awesome! They have a LOT of Korean goods & their space isn't that big so some of the aisles feel cramped, but they maintain their floors, aisles & shelves very well. It doesn't ever look messy.
