I purchase vegetables here that I can't find at other stores. I am too lazy to make my own Kimchi so I will often buy it here. I also like the dried fish. They have a nice selection of beef, especially the thinly sliced rib eye, perfect for grilling/skillet. I am not a fan of the chicken offerings. I have had some good prepared foods here as well. H-Mart is not on my weekly rotation but does come into play every few months. A-OK in my book. read more

I love H Mart. It's my go to place for rice, buns, good ramen, udon, and bbq marinades. I have to drag myself out of there, because I'll spend hours slowly moving through the aisles looking for something new to try. During the summer they carry frozen durian. read more

Finally had the chance to drop by Hmart this past weekend. I was pretty excited to say the least, but sadly I was a little disappointed in this particular store. They're not as big as the store in Washington state and don't have a huge selection. I didn't explore the frozen or meat section so I can't speak in regards to whether or not it's sufficient. The areas that I did explore are listed below: Cons - the store's layout is ridiculous and makes no sense! Feels like I'm going thru a human maze. - their produce selection pertaining to the green leafy vegetables are quite slim with little variety and not as fresh as I expected. - organic produce selection is tiny. - there's no food court :( Pros - good selection of dried noodles (vermicelli, ramen, etc) - there are restrooms for customers - handful selection of organic products (barley tea, tofu, dried noodles, etc) Overall, I would come back if I need to pick up Korean specific items or my fave brand of vermicelli (bun thap chua). Good news is this location is just down the street from Whole Foods Market. read more

Our go-to spot for Asian groceries. Clean, well stocked store with an impressive array of products from all over Asia. Mainly Korean, but you'll also find Japanese and other items. Sushi counter and a small baked goods stand right in the store, also has an impressive fresh fish counter where you can choose from a wide variety and have the fish filleted right there for you to take home and be ready to cook. Definitely worth a look if you enjoy Asian food. read more

This is my go to place for sashimi if I plan on making sushi. They usually offer decent cuts of salmon or tuna at a fair price. You can also get masago and other ingredients for sushi. Overall a great supermarket if you're looking for hard-to-find Asian food items. Prices are good to expensive depending on what you get. Over the years they've slowly switched to more Korean oriented food. Sometimes I have to go to the other Asian Supermarket down the road from them for Japanese items. read more

I don't know why it's taken me so long to get here, except it's a bit of a trek from home (about 40 minutes). But still, as someone who loves to cook Asian food at home this place is like heaven! The assortment of fresh fruit and veggies is great, lots of things you won't find easily in regular supermarkets. The seafood market is where they really shine, however. I love that I can get fresh head-on shrimp at an excellent price, beautiful whole fish, lots of frozen seafood mixes, fish balls, everything. The meats are great for doing bbq at home, shabu shabu, and bulgogi. Aisles are full of staple spices, sauces, noodles, rice, teas...I always need to write out a list or else I'm sure I'll forget something. Only 1 star off because it's definitely Korean-oriented, so if you are looking for certain ingredients more common in Thai, Vietnamese or Chinese cuisines you might need to go to one of the markets in Philly or elsewhere nearby to find them. The Philly Asian markets tend to be cheaper, too, but not necessarily as clean and fun to shop. But overall this H-Mart fits my needs perfectly, well worth a stop at least every month to stock up. read more

As someone who loves and appreciates Korean food, I dreamt of one day being able to visit this market. It's much bigger than the Asian markets in the burgh and I heard that the selection was much wider as well. Although I can't speak for all of the H-Marts (I only visited this one), I can say that I was really impressed overall by the selection of goods they had. I bought gojuchang, korean chili peppers (for making kimchi), different flavor cup of noodles, sweet rice, this fancy soy sauce with kelp flavor added, sunchokes, some chips and a few other things. The store was really affordable. I did find the store to be kind of hard to navigate around and it almost seemed like there were too many products for the size of the store- it was a little overwhelming. I was also not happy to see they didn't have any kimchi options that were vegan. I was looking for kimchi without fish or shrimp and couldn't find any. read more

here are some of my favourite things about this h-mart: a few vegan ramen types, decent selection of organics (produce, miso, tea, hygiene), vegan kimchi (yes it exisits, look for the fresh bagged kimchi, be sure to take it home straight away and bring a cooler or your car/trunk may smell of garlic flatulence for awhile), fresh pop-rice (and samples!) and deals on cases of tea (try korean 16 bottle tea!). i also love the housewares section, you'll find lock & locks galore, rice molds, mega-kimchi fridges (one will be mine!), metal chopsticks & rice/banchan bowls, variety of ricecookers- as well as other asian kitchen essentials. lastly, it's open 365 - very convenient and a great place to shop! read more

H Mart is not my usual Asian supermarket but I decided to check this one out because I was in the area. The store layout is a bit awkward. On the fresh vegetables side, the aisles are orderly and spacious but as soon as you go through the portal to the other side, things get crazy. Aisles are tighter, cluttered with boxes and crates, and meet at odd angles. It's hard to move around on that side when the store is busy on a weekend afternoon because everyone is blocking everyone else. I also thought the arrangement of goods didn't make sense sometimes, so I had to look at nearly every aisle to find the items I needed. Even then, selection of goods isn't as wide as Kam Man in Edison, to name an example. Also, regular prices seem generally higher at this store. On the plus side though, this H Mart groups their sale and clearance items together at the checkout area for easy bargain hunting. I only discovered that as I was preparing to leave but that's where I should look first next time. read more

hmart has a great selection of asian food. there's a solid selection of prepared side dishes and marinated meat. the cherry hill location has fresher food than the west philly location. it's got most of the selection that the ny locations have. the prices are pretty reasonable and i don't think it's too intimidating to shop if you're not asian...but then again, i'm asian, so i don't know if i'm unbiased in saying that it's not intimidating... read more

i'm shocked how highly rated this place is. it used to be good years ago... but since there's really no other choice in the area, we'll continue to shop here. my biggest disappointment is with their produce section. i don't know how many times i've browsed through the fruits (packaged ones) to find them moldy. so watch out when buying fresh foods from here! read more

I have learned that there is not much food products here so when I saw Asian Market on my way to McCormick and Schmick's, I made a U turn. I feel more at home at Asian than H. The good thing about H is that it has a rewards program but don't forget your card, you won't get credits for your buy. read more

I usually go to the Asian Supermarket in Pleasantville, because it's closer to my house, but sometimes I'll go to H Mart or the other Asian Market on Rt 70. H Mart is my least favorite of the three. The setup is really strange. The aisles are narrow and go in weird directions. They have most of the staples I buy, but not all of the brands I prefer, and it's not a very pleasant shopping experience. If you're not familiar with Asian grocery stores and are going for the first time, I'd skip H Mart and head to the other Asian market down the road. This is a review just for this cherry hill hmart. I have to say, this hmart is one of the worst hearts I have been! I used to go to the one in MA and I have been to the the one at Edison,NJ. This cherry hill hmart lacks in cleanliness and fresh veggies and food. Pictures from two years ago looks so much better than what it truly is. I usually head to hmart to get asian veggies/asian condiments, but it seems that whenever I go, veggies look like they were there for weeks. I would just try another hmart at Pennsylvania (it might be worth the drive). read more

This is the closest H-Mart for me since I live in Glassboro. It's still a good 35 minutes drive but I really don't mind because they've always got fresh ingredients. I love Korean food and I'm always looking to make new korean recipes. H-Mart is the place where I can find all the distinctive ingredients I need. This is not one of the better HMarts. The vegetables are a little wilty, and the selection lacks some variability. The organization is a little weird, and it might be a little hard to find what you want -- the layout of the store is so awkward! One of the best Asian Markets in the South Jersey area. When they moved in to this location, it really upped the game for out area. Before this, we have smaller store where the quality was iffy at best. (Nothing like a mouthful of sour Kimche!) The selection of fresh produce, fresh fish/seafood, and wide variety or items makes this a weekly stop for me. I like the layout of the store, very intuitive and flowing to make your way thru the aisles. Rarely do I have to turn around and go back to get something that I found that I needed when shopping for the upcoming weeks meals. Most of the products are labeled in English as well as original language, so the guessing game that many that were not raised in the various cultures do not have to guess what they are getting. (A great help for those that are opening their horizons to different fares and flavors.) If you compare the pricing on the fresh food that are available, you will find that they are competitively priced and do offer many hard to find items. Well worth a little bit of time to familiarize yourself with their offerings and layout. read more

My husband and I visited H Mart just this last Friday 12/22. A friend of mine recommended the store and told me they had produce/products you can't purchase at regular grocers. I was very excited to shop and was happy with the large selection. My H Mart experience soon crashed and burned due to terrible customer service. We were looking at rice cookers as ours is in desperate need of replacing. My husband seen one he liked and had some questions. He began asking the woman questions and she treated him with complete disrespect...looking at him like she didn't want to be bothered or as if he were a waste of her time. She seemed to care more about him touching the rice cooker than trying to sell it! It was a rice cooker on display not like he took one out of the box. It's a $600 rice cooker of course he wants to look it over if he's going to pay that much money and of course he had questions regarding the difference between the 2 models there. My husband felt discriminated against and I couldn't agree with him more. Just because we were there in our gym clothes hardly means we can't afford a rice cooker and whether my husband's race had anything to do with it makes it all the more despicable; the treatment was unacceptable. My husband could've purchased all the rice cookers sitting on that shelf but, that woman will never know because we will not give H Mart one cent of our money. read more

Dessert and Ice cream selection is excellent, they even have PANDAN ice cream, which is hard to find even in Asian stores. Keep you jacket or sweater on though, coz it's really cold in there. We love this place. They have all types of produce and Asian groceries. If you are a vegetarian you will love the exotic vegetables and produce, If you like fish it doesn't get any fresher than this. They have an excellent selection and even have tanks of live fish. They will cut and fillet the the fish for you. You have to check out the rice cakes that are made on sight. Parking lot very crappy, with potholes in pavement, trash everywhere. Outside of building looks dirty, decrepit and falling apart. Inside, looks a little worn out and decrepit in spots. Lots of interesting stuff although it's hard to find your way around. Aisles run in a diagonal pattern instead of in straight lines, which is a little confusing. Some of the prices seem a little high. Since the other big Asian grocery in Cherry Hill closed up, seems like this place is not trying very hard. read more

Your employees at the Hmart in Cherry Hill are extremely rude and racist. My family and I have been going there for over 15 years, and the way my dad was treated today was completely ridiculous and outrageous. She started speaking in Korean and basically yelling at my dad that he didn't know what type of shrimp he was buying, even though he kept telling her he did. Then when they walked over and he pointed out which ones they were, she continued to be rude, saying that he doesn't know anything about shrimp, and then speaking to another employee in Korean. She was behaving as if though this was his first time buying shrimp. He refused to purchase the shrimp because of her behavior, and she started going off on another rant. This is not how employees should be behaving in your stores, and they need to have training. You should know that your customers are of all different ethnicity and race and this is not how people should be treated. This is the first time this has happened after going here for so many years and it is really disheartening. read more

Great selection, reasonable prices, and friendly service. The mandarins are delicious and I finally found the fruit vinegars I've been unable to locate elsewhere. There are some 'touristy' style items but I was excited to find hard to locate sauces and ingredients.
