These guys have all 5-Star reviews for a reason. I'm actually signing up to Yelp just to post a positive review because my experience was just that good. My girlfriend, brother, his girlfriend, and I had the pleasure of signing up for a rafting tour with H2O Adventures. From start to finish, I cannot say enough positive things about this company and our experience. If you're thinking about booking a trip with them, DO IT! We got to the location and Tyler greeted us letting us know we were in the right spot. He gave us the safety talk which got the point across without being robotic and set the tone for the day. The tone being, whatever you guys want while keeping it safe. We let him know from the get-go that we were willing to paddle harder to hit some of the rapids better. He was all too happy to oblige. In talking to him, he'd been rafting since he was 2 and it really showed. He was easily able to maneuver us to the parts of the river he thought we'd enjoy and more than once was able to somehow steer and get us to push right through seemingly insurmountable traffic jams which made it feel like we had the river to ourselves the entire day. Side-note, we were the only tour we saw that didn't have to wear helmets and the slack-jawed 'are they professionals?' looks from the other tours were delicious. I can't say enough about the personal touch that our guide put in. From turning us around and having us surf the rapids, to putting us into the blackberries for some off-the-vine tastings, to the home-made delicious brownies at the end (I had to mention these, I think Tyler said his mom was thinking about stopping making them, you can't, they're delicious!) the trip was incredible. We (group of 5) had an absolutely fabulous time this past Saturday doing the South Fork of the American River/Lower Gorge trip with Devin.. We have a 7 y.o. and a 9 y.o. boy and it was perfect for all of us! The company is fantastic.. they provided really easy instructions, very nicely organized, great lunch, wonderful trip overall.. Devin was fun, had us do really cool adventures while on the water (surfing, going up a steep rock, tea cup, bull-riding), and played fun games during the calm times.. he had us do adventurous (yet super safe) things that we didn't see other companies or guides do with their groups.. Devin is totally top notch.. we 100% recommend him as a guide and also this company... Almost forgot to mention the awesome brownies at the end.. perfect way to end a terrific day! read more

We took our family to go rafting on the South Fork for the first time after living in the Sacramento area for over 20 years. We chose H2O to take us down the river and were thrilled with the experience. Our guide, Jeremy, has a Ph.D. in rafting (or so it seemed) as he knew every trick in the rafting book. He explained the physics of the water and showed us how to work as a team to make sure our experience was as fun as possible. With his guidance we navigated every set of rapids with confidence, and also learned quite a bit about the history of the river to boot. Lunch provided by H2O was much more than just a sandwich bar - fresh produce, a huge variety of meats, cheeses, spreads, and even fresh fruit and cookies. At the conclusion of the trip, they were prepared with homemade brownies and cool water which was just the trick to finish off the day. What an experience! We were a group of 5 girls excited for an adventure. H2O came up on Groupon but once my friend called to check on dates she was informed it would be slightly cheaper if we booked directly with them so we did. When we arrived at the check in site we were a little confused on where to check in but we finally asked around and found the camp site where we signed waivers. Our guide, Lindsey, was awesome! She was super nice & really knowledgeable. We decided to do a class 3 and the first part of the trip was pretty smooth and chill. At first we thought that was going to be like that the rest of the trip but that soon changed. Our raft got stuck on rocks a couple of times and the raft did flip over once causing us to end up in the water. No lie it was the scariest experience I've been through but thankfully we were all safe. The company had 8 rafts out at the same time so everyone was trying to help us get back into a raft. Lindsey stayed calm and kept guiding us through after that event. She was knowledgeable and thankfully didn't show frustration. I would definitely go back and definitely go with H2O again. You're able to tip your guide and we weren't aware so we didn't have much cash but definitely take cash, they deserve it! read more

I current live in Virginia and was doing some online research to book a whitewater trip during our stay in California. It can be difficult to make a decision on a company from across the country. Thanks to all the glowing reviews and photos I decided on H20. First off there are several companies to choose from many of which I'm sure are fantastic. As for H20 they go above and beyond in every aspect. Once you meet up and are on the water you can see all the companies out there gearing up and on the water. A few things stood out to me that separate H20 from the others. Our raft was top notch and had a water balast floor to help keep it stable. The jackets were in great shape and were very comfortable. The helmets provided had soft padding and fit very well. Mine even had a gopro mount which I was able to use and capture amazing video. At put in you can see some of the other companies do not provide such nice gear. Safety was of utmost importance to H20 and it shows. If you are brand new to whitewater or have experience H20 gives a very descriptive safety talk before you head out. And once on river the guide goes over everything you need to know from paddling to how and where to sit and so on. Our guide Danny was amazing. First off he has an extensive knowledge of the rivers and was able to explain every rapid in detail before we approached each section. He told us how we needed to paddle, where to approach each rapid, what to do in each rapid and has the best personality around. He kept things fun all day and of about 15 boats in our group we never flipped, or lost a passenger. Not that it's a big deal as there is always another boat to swim to I just appreciate that Danny was such an amazing guide we had no worries. We did middle fork of the American River. The entire experience from start to finish was amazing. The scenery was to die for. We saw parts of the river you can only experience from the water. Saw some fish. Ducks and other wildlife. There were bathroom stops. Lunch was outstanding and the water and homemade brownies at the end of the run were amazing. overall will be a lifelong memory. If you want to go rafting regardless of skill or even first timers. Do not book anywhere else. H20 Adventures a family that takes you in as their own and is the only choice. read more

HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this company!! Everyone was very friendly and helpful and entertaining! Devin, our guide was a BEAST!! He was very personable, knowledgeable of the area and the river and was just a really cool guy. We will be back and will request Devin for sure! If you haven't done the lower fork, it was awesome. I had the time of my life. It was about 3 hours. Had some great rapids and also areas where it was calm and we were able to hop into the river and swim a little bit. Camping here for two nights with family and friends was amazing and peaceful. Even though the camping site is normally well stocked with cookware and kitchen utensils, we were unable to cook our chow due to the pandemic. The good thing is that they were able to provide us a mini grill and we got creative with our cook. We cannot ask for more from our wonderful rafting guide, Ann, who has 30 plus years of experience. Easy to chat with and enjoyable to learn Middle Fork's history while rafting. She was respectful but witty and chose her timing well, keeping the mood high. Ann also adapted to our group very well, keeping us informed and on track. She was very flexible and rolled with the punches. It was a pleasure to have such a seasoned and enjoyable guide. read more

Wow, we had such a blast last week on our 1/2 trip down the American River. I have rafted on many rivers with different outfitters over the years and this experience was certainly one of the best. We had Ben as our river guide and he truly made the day, super fun and knowledgeable about the river and the respect that he offered each member on the raft was very special. We shot thru the rapids as if we all had worked together for years, none of us spilled but all of us jumped in to coast swim next to the raft for a fun cooling off session, so fun! Update: Spent a day on North Fork of the Yuba River whitewater rafting. It was totally AWESOME! With Class 4/5 rapids, this trip embodies what most people's ideas of a whitewater rafting trip should be. A constant continuous flow of water leading to massively fun big rapids. For one rapid, we were able get out of the boat to view the MayTag rapid. After viewing it, it definitely gave you thoughts in just taking up the option in walking around it. If you did, then you definitely would have missed out. Not recommended for first timers. Once again, you'll feel safe in trusted hands with your knowledgeable guide. This run is only offered in the spring time due to codependency on snow melt. The water is freezing, but you are given a wet suits to make it all bearable. Lunch was delicious and pictures will taken by tour group that will be posted on website to view and download. Original Post- Tyler was my guide for the Middle Fork (class 3/4) run. He was excellent guide. Very knowledgeable of the river's terrain and history. Definitely got wet, but never fell out of the boat. Our guide was able to maneuver us through the twists and turns like a pro. Even got to do a couple of tricks to gain air on some rapids and we were able to take turns in "riding the bull" (sit at the front tip of the boat) over the rapid. Friendly staff. Looking forward to trying a class 5 with this company. Update - Husband is newbie to white water rafting. So, I signed both of us up for the South Fork Rafting trip (class 3) with this company. He had a wonderful time and would love to go back for more. Once again, I had wonderful entertaining and knowledgeable raft guide. We felt safe and had a good time. The north fork of the California river, rapids, scenery, canyon, and clear emerald waters were stunning. Staff were chill and the van trip to and from the river was fun. We were one of the first Spring groups Tyler and his crew had taken out so we had the river to ourselves. Tyler impressively navigated the class IV rapids and we were able to stay onboard, despite his best efforts to see if we could swim ;-) So much more fun than I could have anticipated and a great way of seeing California's natural beauty. Gotta love the Go Pro videos Tyler sends on after. He is the Grand Emcee on the back of the boat and we are riding to his rhythm :-) read more

What a great experience, lead by professionals. Our guide was Dave, better known as "Peaches." We were an all-girl raft and he reminded us to work together as a team and we would all have a great day. I admit, I have never rafted and was apprehensive, at first. Dave put me at ease and we all had a terrific and safe day. From the runner's who took awesome photos at several locations, to the tow from the jet ski to our pick up spot, to the cold water and brownies at the end. Tyler runs a great business and has employees that share their love for white water rafting in a fun, safe way. To say I was impressed is an understatement. Can't wait to do it again!
