I didn't know I was walking in on the first anniversary celebration of Haasis Gluten Free Bakery this morning, but with a complimentary GF cinnamon donut as welcome, I was happy for my good fortune. I decided to hang out a while and enjoy the great vibes from all the friends of management who were stopping by to express their warm wishes. I even picked up a "brownie cup" and coffee to help extend my time there. Haasis is woman owned/operated, and boss lady was splitting her time between the back room work zone and greeting all her friends and well wishers. There was much affection between all concerned. I felt good just basking in their warmth while I slowly ate the excellent pastries. The cinnamon donut was similar to an apple cider, with light flaky exterior and tender inner texture. The brownie cup was simply a dark thick chocolate base with buttercream flower on top. The Java washdown did its job. I saw some great looking GF flatbreads/pizza on display, along with other assorted cookies and cupcakes. They would be worth a return visit to this lovely Upper Bucks County burg of Perkasie.

Scrumptious vanilla cupcake with creamy chocolate icing and rainbow jimmies.

Service was friendly, professional, and attentive. The dining room was warm and comfortable. And the food? We loved the succession of bites and plates. Everything was delicious and nicely presented. The chef and his team are focused on and really care about the details. In terms of the overall experience, Maize was at least as good as fancy, super-pricey Philly restaurants like Lark. We'll definitely be back!

The evening started perfectly with their signature homemade biscuit, followed by the chive popcorn. For the courses, we enjoyed a prawn, then a rich and tender beef cheek with Brussels sprouts, a beautifully cooked dayboat halibut, and finally duck. We ended on a sweet note with a refreshing sorbet and then a warm apple cake paired with homemade cinnamon ice cream. If you noticed, its more than 4 courses with a few kitchen additions! Every dish was delicious and expertly prepared. The Maize staff once again worked seamlessly in tandem, serving each course at just the right pace -- never rushed, never slow. We've probably dined here close to a dozen times over the years. Each visit has had exceptional food, courteous service, and a great vibe. From start to finish we spent 2 hours at Maize. Well worth the time & money! Highly recommend Maize for anyone who appreciates creative, well-executed food in a warm and inviting setting. We will be back!!!

The Sellersville Theater is one of my favorite music venues, even though it is over 70 miles away…read more For that reason, we sometimes stay overnight in their charming hotel, and have dinner at the restaurant. The food has remained very consistent here for years. The menu is appealing, and the prices are very reasonable. Last week, we had two glasses of cava, a pint of beer, the goat cheese and beet salad, the spring pea soup, the crab and shrimp cakes entrée, a generous side of red chili caramelized brussel sprouts, and the salmon filet over couscous, and the bill was under $110. Sellersville is out in the middle of nowhere, but making the trip is always worth it. We are seeing Marty Stuart and his band here next week. Not staying over this time, but definitely having dinner here before the show.

The convenience alone made this hotel a perfect choice--being able to walk over to the theater was a huge plus. The show itself was a Harry Chapin tribute in January 2026 featuring original band members Steve Chapin, Howie Fields, and Big John Wallace, which made the evening especially memorable. The hotel itself has Victorian details and a grand antique bar that gives the whole place a great vibe. It is a must-stay if you appreciate history mixed with modern comfort. Our room was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet, providing a high-end yet cozy place to rest after the show. We had a delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant before the concert, and the breakfast the next morning (included with our stay) was great. If you are seeing a show at the theater, do yourself a favor and stay here--this is a very enjoyable stay and a place I'd happily return to, especially if attending an event at the theater.
