Good variety on the buffet. The restaurant is clean and the food is really good. I like their sushi and everything on the buffet, but I have to admit that habachi aspect is not all that great. We've enjoyed this restaurant many times. Last night we were there and they have an item I wanted my daughters to try, so I asked for a take-out box and took a small amount. I went to the counter to pay. Jason weighed the box behind the counter and told me my total was $5. Take out is $5.49/lb (unless seafood or sushi, which it was not). When I got home, I weighed my light box to find it was only 9 oz. My takeout should have only cost $3.09 or so. It's not a huge amount I know, but I was very disappointed that they cheat their customers in this way. I just would like to warn people to really watch what they charge you on takeout. I came here with high expectations, and left with a very average experience. The location is very easy to get to from both I75 and I69. Walking in, the layout of buffet lines seem to be never ending. Very clean, and the staff was friendly. Now on to the food. There is food here to satisfy anyone's taste. From sushi to pizza, a wide range. However, I found that the quality of my food was "food court quality" at best. Meaning that it was good, but not $12.00 per person good. My concerns also are about the quantity of food that was on the buffet lines, compared to the amount of customers inside at dinner time. There was way more food on the buffet lines than needed for the crowd. I hope they have a way to donate the food and that it doesn't just go to waste. James, Anna and Penny are sweet and fun. went w/ my mom & gma the other day. mom was shocked at how inexpensive the bill was. she thought that we were under charged by accident. lol. had the pleasure of telling my mom, "I told you so!" I wonder if they are always keeping everything stored properly. If they don't always do it right, that could explain my case of stomach upset and nausea the evening after I ate here last. I went on Sunday around lunch time for my first and last trip here. I like going to Japanese and Chinese buffets, especially the ones that have fresh sushi, so I made an effort to make my wife take us here when we were in the Flint area. This was a mistake. If you have been to buffets that serve sushi, then there is nothing particularly spectacular about this one. Fuji Japanese Buffet and Tokyo Lounge, are around 30 minutes away and are way better. I don't have very many good things to say about this one: Pros: trance/dance music playing while I'm pigging out. I don't know what it is, but it puts me in the buffet mood. Cons: everything else... I will focus much of my review on the sushi, as I'm all about the sushi and everything else here was pretty meh. They are not lacking in variety. When I was here on a Sunday, they had different kinds of shrimp, clams, salmon, prime rib, standard chinese-american fare, etc. Only thing lacking was crab, which you have to pay $4/pound for (dine-in only in addition to your buffet bill). As for the sushi, it was relatively good quality in comparison to sushi served at other buffets. Again, if you want better sushi, go to Fuji Japanese Buffet (mjore $$) or Tokyo Lounge. Here, I encountered the problem where they did not refill the premium sushi fast enough. This happens a lot when you are the kind of person that wants tuna, salmon, yellowtail, or something that is actually fish. I suspect there are buffets in Toledo that have put my picture in some sort of area database to inform the sushi chefs to cut down on production when I show up, but that's just speculation. If you wanted california rolls and other cheap stuff, then it was definitely there. But for the sashimi sushi (my wife likes salmon and I like tuna), you'd best go elsewhere. When I got there, I saw 3 salmon and 3 tuna rolls available. Feeling bad about the person behind me, I grabbed all of them. I expected them to change out the plate sometime soon. Twenty minutes later, 2 more rolls of salmon and tuna were on the plates. Great, oh no, this other guy just grabbed them. Okay, 10 minutes go by and basically I just play this ridiculous cat and mouse game waiting for the sushi to come out and hoping no one else gets it before I do. Eventually I asked the sushi chef to put out more tuna and salmon. This doesn't work and I stay there for a bit, picking at the other non-sushi items that were, though quite diverse in appearance, were pretty homegenous in flavor: stale, old, msg-y. Oh, wait, if you'll excuse me, I just saw 2 more tuna rolls, I gotta go grab them before that other guy gets them! read more

Food isn't bad although it does depend on the time you get there. Ordered a Mt.Dew tasted like water and i looked at the glass after i took a sip and the cup was dirty. I went to get some prime rib and it was still raw inside with blood coming out of it still. Was here for over an Hour and the waitress kept walking by. Just like any of these restaurants they are good a few times then the doors are locked tight. Shut them all down. "Updating this 2 hours later" I'm feeling pretty crappy got the runs and puking. I used to love this place but the last few times it has been seriously slack. This last time, I went with my family at lunch time. It was Tuesday so they were not really busy. I go primarily for the sushi. However, I am alergic (deathly so) to shell fish, so lunch works well since they tend to put out the cheaper veggie sushi and spicy tuna and that sort of thing that I can eat. Well, this time, there was ZERO sashimi out at all and really very little else. One side of the sushi bar was completely empty! All the trays were empty or only had one or two things on them (see pictures). I asked the sushi chef if he would be making more to refill the many (4-6) empty platters on the bar and he said they would be filled in a few minutes. We spent an hour there and they WERE NEVER FILLED!!! We were sitting close to the sushi bar, so I kept an eager eye out to see if he had filled any and he had not. Total dissappointment! Also, and this is a real kicker here, I asked the chef if there was shell fish in one of the rolls that had tempura around it and he assured me there was not. Well, since I can die from eating a singel shrimp, I decided I would cut one open to investigate and what was in there? IMMITATION CRAB!!! Immitation crab has crab meat in it and is def NOT SAFE for a person with a shellfish allergy to eat. I politely told him this and he said he didn't know that crab was a shellfish!! I kid you not! I asked him to repeat it just to be sure that is what he said. This place is going to wind up killing someone with their ignorant sushi chef. I've been bringing my family here once or twice a week since it opened. we've never had service as rude and inconsiderate as we did today. We came in shortly before dinner hours, so we were charged for lunch. We asked when the frog legs and prawns would be put out, at dinner time. We ate and paid quite fast because our waitress had brought our check rather quick. We waited until dinner time for the frog legs and prawns. I sat down with my plate, and the hostess walked up and touched my food and asked if I wanted to be charged for dinner. I tried telling her that i had already paid, but would gladly pay the difference as the frog legs and prawns were what I came for. Before I could finish, the hostess snactched my plate away and threw the entire plate in the trash! It wouldnt have been such a big deal, but she literally touched the food on my plate and then picked the plate up as soon as i said i had paid and threw it away. She was extremly rude, and very invasive. The whole time my grandson and my elderly father were sitting there watching. Its sad to say because of this we wont be coming back. read more

My husband and I go here all the time. What brings us back is the sushi. I have only had one time where the sushi wasn't fresh out of the many times we have gone. Good quality isn't the greatest but they do fill often. You can just tell it is cheap quality. Service isn't the greatest either but then again it's a buffet. If you are looking for a place with good service then don't go to a buffet. There has been a couple times where we go to grab a plate and there is still leftover food on it. This sucks because I love this restaurant. I don't think after this experience, I will be going back however. We went to get some food from this establishment and the food was fine/decent. Not like normal where the food is generally good; but due to them being busy I can understand that the quality of the food is not going to be up to the level in which they normally serve. Where the issue begins is their level of service. My servers name was "Vicky". After finishing my meal, I waited for my girlfriend to complete her meal, Vicky set the bill down. My girlfriend offers to pay for the meal as a belated birthday gift, and she sets her credit card down in the slip. The waitress picks it up and brings back the receipt for her to sign. She signs it and Vicky picks it up and walks off. Vicky brings it back and lays it on the table and walks back off. I didn't think much of it, until she comes back and ask me if I signed it. I asked "What is there something wrong?". She begins to explain to me that I have to sign it as well, which was odd because it was not my card, it was my girlfriends. So, I explained this too her. She started begins to argue with me and explain to me that I have to sign the receipt as well,believing that the credit card was possibly under joint ownership. Now, before I continue, I was suppose to pay for a to-go container; but, I asked about this earlier and she had already explained to me that I would need to take it up front and pay for that meal, which I understood. I was watched the entire time while I ate, to the time I waited on my partner. Which, I can understand due to the business being packed. However, one thing that is and absolute, it's that at the very least, decent, customer service can make or break a restaurant. There was a lot she showed from the small times we spoke, to her actions when I would do something as little as go to the buffet, or enjoy my meal. This experience has soured my mood for the restaurant and I will be taking it elsewhere. Original post was for 3 stars, but for the level of service I received, I had to drop it down a star. My new favorite Asian food buffet place. I have never seen a buffet this big...it was huge, I mean half of the building was buffet tables. Including a Sushi Bar that was pretty good. There was too much food to review each item but everything was great , self serve prime rib and other American dishes which I mainly ignored. ALL of the other dishes were pretty good, The squid stood out for me it was Tempura style and very good. The other dishes I had more than I should have was the Korean Steak. Worst meal we have had in a long time. Nothing like it advertised . Prime was dry and not worth trying. Chicken was burned in several different kinds, bones and small pieces of cartilage, and yucky. I I could give less than one star i would. the first time i ate here i liked it. the next two times the food was visibly old and crusty looking. i came here last night for the last time. this place is absolute trash first of all, the staff sucks and it's over priced for being such terrible quality food. not only this, i woke up at 3 am puking my guts out and knew it was the food because i felt sick leaving the damn place. i still feel sick and it's been almost 24 hours since i've been. the managers obviously don't listen to shit because when they get reviews on google they deny what bad things people have to say about their shitty ass restaurant. This place is currently called Habachi. My family and I always go when they first open, when everything is nice and fresh. I would recommend them for lunch. I have not had a problem yet. The wait staff is friendly and when I asked what was in one of the sushi rolls, she went and asked what was in it for me. I am not real big on sushi, but I actually found sushi I like. I love the food here. Its very good. But as I sit here in the place. I'm not getting any service from my waitress, I've been here for a little over an hour writing a paper and I've always had a plate of food In front of me. While writing my paper and in the middle of eating a dish of food. The waitress brought me the bill when I obviously wasn't ready for it. So I at first mined no attention to it and kept writing my paper and eating my food. And I kept feeling her staring at me, and she then approaches me again and asked if I was ready to pay, and I said I'm not done eating but sure I will pay now. She took my money and my check and gave me back the change. Sense then she has not checked up on my nor taken any of my dirty dishes. I had to wave her down to ask for more water. I'm very unsatisfied with her service today and its pretty sad because the food here is pretty good. And I'm here during lunch time so its not like they are busy or anything. read more

I went here for my sister's graduation and it was the worst dining experience I had in my life! They were re-opening the place as Habachi during this time so I was skeptical to go here while they were transitioning. My sister insisted on coming here for her graduation dinner nonetheless considering we had a lot of guest fly in and we wanted to go to a place where they could eat whatever they liked and as much of it as possible. I since I didn't like the idea of a going to a transitioning restaurant I decided to go there a week early to speak to the manager and see if there was a private space we could eat it. He showed me the unfinished space and guaranteed me that the private dining area would be completed by the date of our reservation. When we got there for her graduation is was a complete disaster. They said they they knew nothing of our reservation, the space we rented out was dirty and the staff deliberately pretended like they could not understand english. They tried to clean the room while we were there and mop the floors, we just decided to make life easier for them and ourselves we would sit in the prearranged seating area. We asked them to move the tables so that we all could sit together but we ended up moving them ourselves. We sat there for 20 and had to call a waiter to serve us our drinks and give us cutlery. It was an absolute embarassment on their part and for us for bringing our guests from out of town there to eat. We were advised to call the owner of the facility by one of the waiters in fact he volunteered to call them for us. When we called the owner hung up the phone on us several times and told us the best he could do for us was tell us not to pay gratuity. I felt bad for my sister for having to go through this on her graduation day and also for the guests that flew from out of town to experience this horrible service. read more
