    Chicken burrito
    Brian W.

Went here the other night because I've historically seen it packed around lunch time, and it was pretty decent, though I'm not sure I ordered the right items. The restaurant itself is pretty small, but the food tastes pretty fresh and is made right in front of you. I have had better, but it's really not too bad here. Chicken Burrito - This was probably the best item - I got it with everything and it was quite filling. Both burritos also came with chips and salsa, which was a nice surprise. It was about $14 though, so not super super cheap, and the meat was juicy and tender but didn't have a ton of flavor. The rice was probably my favorite part of this - it had a very buttery taste. Steak Burrito - This was okay and there was a lot of meat. For some reason, it was packed a lot fuller than the chicken one, so it was even more filling. The meat wasn't super flavorful or tender, but it was decent. Pollo Asado Plate - This wasn't bad, but wasn't outstanding. They cooked the chicken from scratch on the flat top, so it took longer to put this together than both burritos, and the chicken ended up being a little dry. Other than that, the tortillas were nice and the rice was good as well. I feel like I should order the meat plate next time I come here since it looked really good, but it's also more expensive than the other items. I am not sure how much exactly since the prices online didn't match with our receipt total, and the menu above the ordering station didn't have prices. The birria tacos also looked good, but again I wasn't sure how much they cost. I think I'd try it at least one more time though!

    Taco Combo Plate

Food was quick and a great portion for the price! I tried the tinga and lengua tacos and I will definitely be back! Great place to grab a quick authentic eat!

    Nachos and Quesadilla

Omg the nachos are amazingggg!!!!!! Just for that I give this five stars :). On the menu its listed as "plain nachos" - oh no these are no plain nachos imo. Ordered delivery and the food came hot and fresh. All the nacho toppings were very well distributed over the chips - beans, cheese, tomatoes, jalapenos, sour cream and guac - perfect proportions of everything. The hubs and I kept eating these till they were finished! Besides the awesome nachos we got the chicken taco combo plate, chicken enchilada plate and the vegetarian quesadilla. The plates came with rice, black beans and the enchilada in addition came with salad plus sour cream and guac toppings. All the food was fresh and tasty. Definitely recommend this place, two thumbs wayyy up!!!

    Beef Tongue Taco x3

If I'm ever around Allston/Brighton, I make sure to stop by Habanero to order tacos to-go, even if I just had lunch or dinner anywhere else, it's a must for me! Besides their amazing tacos, they also have burritos, quesadillas, soups, nachos, and enchiladas on their menu. It's a small hole-in-the-wall joint with a few seats inside to hang out and eat before covid-19. There's only street parking around the area and sometimes it can be hard to find one but it's totally worth it! Beef Tongue Taco- 6" corn tortilla x2, cheese, sour cream, cilantro, pico de gallo, spicy green sauce. My holy grail of tacos! The beef tongue braised to the point where it was so tender and delicious, having one was not enough! I brought a few of my friends who would squirm when they hear the word 'tongue' associated with food. But once they tried it, oh they were hooked! Overall Service: Very consistent demeanor, super easygoing when we used to hang out and eat here or order to go. It doesn't take long for the food either.

Chicken taco combo ($13.65, June 2020)
    Logan D.

Pros: -Easy contactless delivery via DoorDash Cons: -Couldn't specify taco type for taco combo on DoorDash; for some reason they went with chicken -- Chicken Taco Combo ($13.65, June 2020) 3 chicken tacos with double corn tortillas, a side of pinto beans, side of rice, and some limes. Great flavor on the tacos but I wish that you could pick multiple meats for the combo.

    Adobada Burrito
    Dave V.

I ordered a Adobada Burrito ($12.50) on grubhub. The burrito was dense and packed with a lot of food. The rice was flavourful and they put a generous amount of meat in it. I was surprised to see that my order came with chips and a side of salsa for free. I look forward to trying the tacos next time.

Very good Mexican option in this neighborhood. Quesadillas and pupusas were very good. Burrito was "fine."

Best beef birria tacos I've ever had anywhere. I was blown away. And the beans and rice on the side were 10/10 too.

** Salmon Tacos + Limonada**…read more These salmon tacos were outstanding. The salmon itself was cooked perfectly -- juicy and flaky, not dry at all. I was a little worried going in since the description mentioned it was fried, but there wasn't a trace of oiliness. Each taco was topped with a bright pickled red cabbage and a secret sauce that was applied with a light hand -- just enough for flavor without drowning the taco. On the side, a cup of black beans rounded out the plate perfectly. The limonada was refreshing and the perfect pairing for the meal. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself has such a great energy -- simple, colorful, and unpretentious. It genuinely took me back to little spots in Mexico before things got so commercialized. The prices were reasonable for the quality you get, and the whole experience left me already planning my next visit. Honestly can't believe it took me over 10 years to finally eat here. Don't make my mistake -- go now!

This place has amazing reviews and it's for a reason- the food is beyond delicious. I got the tacos de aguacate. It's my first time ever having a fried avocado, but it certainly won't be my last. The avocado is perfectly ripe and fried perfectly. The fillings are so fresh and light. Don't even get me started on the beans. I ordered online and my food was ready on time when I got there, but there was plenty of seating available, so I'll definitely be back to dine in. It's a cute and cozy restaurant. All I can say is wow, I will definitely be back!

I wasn't impressed with the chicken tacos, because of the chewy consistency of the chicken and flavor of the corn tortilla, I prefer a flour tortilla. We also struggled because we had a small high top and could barely fit all of our food on it. They did a good job clearing the table and waiting for us to finish our appetizers. We visited the location near Samuel Adams Brewery, and the moment you step inside, you're practically face-to-face with the cashier. The place is tiny, with just a few barstools along the wall, but it doesn't seem like a spot where people linger. It has the feel of a true neighborhood taco shop. Locals stop in for a quick bite or grab their food to go, and workers come in, order, and are back out the door in no time. I ordered a carne asada taco and a veggie taco. The carne asada was flavorful, but the veggie taco completely exceeded my expectations. Instead of the usual peppers and onions, it was loaded with fresh corn, eggplant, zucchini, cauliflower, and a mix of peppers that added great flavor and texture. It was colorful, fresh, and filling without feeling heavy. The real standout, though, was their homemade habanero salsa. It packed incredible flavor with a serious kick. I could still feel the heat lingering on my tongue long after I finished eating. I loved every second of it.
