Food tasted great, the chipotle crema was a little spicy for me, but it was packed very poorly. I'm not sure if it was the Door dash driver or the restaurant, but two of the bowls fell apart when the order arrived (the insides spilled into the bag)

Surf and Turf Burrito

Great food with huge portions but I mainly had trouble just navigating the restaurant. When you walk in I assume you wait to order in front of where they build the burritos and bowls but my family and I stood there for about 9 minutes before we were even greeted or told we would be taken care of. Two other guests stared impatiently behind us and then there were three Uber Eats workers who were also impatiently waiting for their order. When we finally got our food it was an honest relief because I was happy we didn't wait that long for low quality. There is a lot of seating available and plenty of drinks to choose from even Horchata! The ambiance isn't great though, my party and I noticed there wasn't any music and it made things awkward especially because the entire restaurant was silent as well. I recommend taking the food to a nearby park in Brookline instead of staying in. Bilingual workers are always a plus! Incredible salsa!

Al Pastor Tacos, Chicken Taco, Steak Taco

Food was pretty good! Not super authentic, but the meats had a good flavor and the tacos themselves were pretty loaded. Service was fast and friendly, and the dining area was clean. Good spot if you're in the mood for something fast, fresh, and satisfying.

So good. Got it the first night we arrived because of convenience and then went back the next night because it was so good!

Salad no lettuce :(

I literally never write reviews but I ordered a salad and got no lettuce :( the guacamole is a tiny tiny container and costs $5. Heads up!!

Had a large burrito, something was tainted and did not agree with me. Will not go back! Eat here at your own risk.

They have lots of good beverage options- my bf Francisco P. & I had horchatas and our dinner companion had a papaya shake. On request, they can prepare the shake with water instead of milk. You can see the female chef in the kitchen preparing the food lovingly by hand. I tried the bean and cheese pupusas, which were very good. Our companion also tried the chicken pupusas, which she said were also very good. We thought they tasted freshly made, to order. I love that the pupusas had the bits of crunchy cheese that form when some cheese leaks out the side. I was also glad to have the red sauce and pickled cabbage for putting on top. Maybe next time I'd order more of that because I love the pickled cabbage, or curtido. My bf had a Salvadoran combo plate- that had a pupusa, a Salvadoran tamale, and a Salvadoran enchilada (which closely resembles a Mexican tostada). I had a taste of the tamale, which had chicken, & which I thought was really flavorful, and different in consistency than a Mexican tamale- softer.

Stopped in here with coworkers before a WBUR event. Friday at 5:30 and the place was pretty empty…read more Our waitress was very attentive and consistently available and checking in -- perhaps helped by the barren dining area, but still appreciated! We started with margaritas which were just so-so. My spicy marg was not spicy and generally we found them to be a little on the sweet side. Fine, but to me it was more like drinking some nice juice. We ordered the nachos to share (you must get these) and a variety of entrees. Food came out so quickly! There was also SO MUCH. I made another two full meals out of leftover nachos and fajitas and could have stretched to a third. It's definitely Americanized Mexican but it really hits the spot! I'd probably just stick with water for my drink next time.

There was a DJ playing music with an MC giving away tickets. The hostess greeted us right away and informed us it was a 30 min wait for a table but that we could sit at the bar, We got lucky and sat at the bar, even though it was packed we didn't wait extremely long for our drinks nor our food. The bartenders were super nice. This is a good spot to kill time before a show or if you're just strolling by. I could tell there are some local regulars. Loved the rotating welcome sign at the entrance. My only complaint would be the ladies room could use a makeover. A nice paint job and new doors as one stall had no lock..

We came around 6pm on a weekday and it was completely empty…read more We came here because we saw tik tok videos of how fun, busy, and vibrant this place was but I think we just came at the wrong time and wrong day. The business is sort of in a house? It was small and kind of dark inside. It was definitely an interesting experience,,, The appetizer was reallyyy good, I forgot the name though... The mole however, was not very good. The mole was liquidy and the chicken was dry. Overall, I think this place is more for fun busy nights where you just drink and apps. I'd like to come again when its busier and we aren't the only customers.

Tulum is an elevated Mexican restaurant an extensive food and drink menu (especially tequila) too…read more It's in kind of a weird neighborhood of Somerville that's hard to get to without a car but lots of parking. We started off with two drinks- a frozen mangonada and this passion fruit drink. They were both solid but I liked the mangonada better because the passion fruit cocktail had too much pulp in it! For food, we started off with chips and guac. This guac was some of the best I've had. It was super fresh and you could tell exactly what ingredients they used. We also their pork ribs! The ribs fell off the bone and I loved the warm sauce except it was a tiny bit dry. The sauce was reminiscent of an umami bbq sauce. We decided to try their zucchini dish, as recommended by the manager! I don't love zucchini usually but I liked it. It was roasted with cheese, sauces, and some shrimp. Very creative, Lastly we got the tuna ceviche of the day. I didn't really like this because it was really heavy on the dill. I think it would've been good without it. However the presentation was gorgeous and it came with plantains. Overall the vibes are superb here for a date, girls night, or whatever!!

I wasn't impressed with the chicken tacos, because of the chewy consistency of the chicken and flavor of the corn tortilla, I prefer a flour tortilla. The strawberry margarita was delicious and even came with a strawberry garnish! Be prepared because this place gets busy and loud on a Friday night. I couldn't hear my friend across the table. We also struggled because we had a small high top and could barely fit all of our food on it. They did a good job clearing the table and waiting for us to finish our appetizers.
