Los Amigos Taqueria has become my favorite Mexican food fast casual chain in the Greater Boston Area, and the Coolidge Corner location never fails to disappoint. Its bowls are fresh, flavorful, and filling, and they have a large variety of toppings options that are all delicious (pico de gallo, eggplant salsa, mango salsa, corn salsa, cabbage slaw). Service is quick, order-at-the-counter style and they have a large indoor dine-in space, but also easily just put a lid on their bowls for takeout. read more

I just love this place! First off, I'm in there so much and the staff is soooo nice, friendly, professional, great, great people, the whole team. Second - the food is very fresh and tasty ... it's the type that later in the week or so, you start to crave returning to taste it again. Open, sunlight, friendly, clean ambiance, too. The only thing I'd add to management is to extend your phone and credit card payments to allow a tip for the employees. They have a tip jar, but who carries cash? This really would be an improvement. When one is so happy about a place, it would be nice to tip more, but if you don't have cash, there is no way. Management, here's a great idea: add that feature! read more

I randomly stumbled upon this spot while in Brookline. The place itself is quite spacious, with plenty of seating and a menu that instantly drew us in. My friend opted for the Chipotle Chicken Wrap, while I decided to try the Craft Your Own Bowl. The service was fast, almost too fast. The server didn't even give me the chance to tell what I wanted in my bowl. They asked if I wanted rice, and after I said yes, they immediately scooped whatever was closest without waiting for me to specify the type. Same with meat. That was it, they moved to the last step and asked if i wanted pico on it (no other toppings). I would've loved to add lettuce, spinach, and more if given the opportunity to speak. As for the Burrito, it was alright. The place has some great reviews so I'm not sure what went wrong today, but my experience fell short of expectations. read more

Great food with huge portions but I mainly had trouble just navigating the restaurant. When you walk in I assume you wait to order in front of where they build the burritos and bowls but my family and I stood there for about 9 minutes before we were even greeted or told we would be taken care of. Two other guests stared impatiently behind us and then there were three Uber Eats workers who were also impatiently waiting for their order. When we finally got our food it was an honest relief because I was happy we didn't wait that long for low quality. There is a lot of seating available and plenty of drinks to choose from even Horchata! The ambiance isn't great though, my party and I noticed there wasn't any music and it made things awkward especially because the entire restaurant was silent as well. We are regulars at Los Amigos for years, with service being okay, but the folks behind the counter were downright belligerent. I asked for what we typically get, a surf and turf and stated clearly "but no beans and lettuce" and the guy behind the counter proceeded to scoop beans, to which I said again, excuse me, no beans. He then insisted that beans are part of a surf and turf to which I said "yes and I had said but no beans and lettuce." From there on out he pretended he didn't know my order. I had to tell him to add steak and then shrimp and then every other item that is in a surf and turf (besides the beans and lettuce). His buddy then does the same thing with me on the next item. If you didn't hear me or pay attention that's fine, I get it but what's with the acting out? So unprofessional. Will be going elsewhere for burritos. read more

If you're looking for a way to customize your meal with many options, come to Los Amigos! Their build-your-own quesadillas start at $8.99 on doordash (pay a little more for the larger size). Some of the toppings or meat choices cost a little extra (shrimp, steak, guacamole, cotija cheese, plantains, etc) but you already have a lot to choose from if you go the free toppings route. They got me with their free mango salsa. You can add rice and beans to your quesadilla so it's very filling! We put in a delivery order for 2 BYO quesadillas but somehow one of the quesadillas came as a burrito. I guess the universe is reminding me of my lactose intolerance... But I would recommend getting a quesadilla or bowl because although the burrito was very yummy, the ingredients weren't distributed super evenly. I started out eating a lot of rice and then ended with two bites that were almost entirely jalapeño. Either way, I was very satisfied with the food! Their cilantro brown rice tastes good and was cooked to a good texture, and I'm not usually one to order brown rice. The corn in the corn salsa is cooked, so keep that in mind if you're hoping for something like the raw corn salsa at Chipotle. Their plantains are also very tasty. I could tell that they wait for their plantains to ripen fully because every piece that they give you is nice and sweet! With some other restaurants sometimes it feels like playing plantain roulette because you never know if your next piece will taste like a waxy potato. Great spot for delivery. I ordered a burrito (with plantains!), chips and salsa, a carnitas taco, and a churro to finish - all for $20! Everything was wrapped well and in things that can be tossed in the oven to heat and disinfect. The burrito was packed with flavor, although the contents could be a little better distributed. Do you like fish tacos? Since my answer was yes, we met here at Los Amigos Taqueria across from the small triangle island for dinner one evening. There was a line already waiting before the long counter ahead of us as I perused the menu above. By the time I added myself to the end, I was standing just within their door. The staffer stationed in the middle of the counter took my order, while the on at the register to the far left accepted payment and gave me a cup to fill with the horchata $2.45 ($1 refills). Horchata is a sweet cinnamon rice milk beverage, and theirs was tasty, though I preferred it somewhat after the grains settled a bit. The Baja Style Fish Tacos $8.25 (beer battered haddock, pico de gallo, cojita, cabbage slaw, avocado crema) were two to an order, with each double tortilla well filled with a good sized piece of fish and a hill of accompaniments. I was near satiated, but wavered whether to order the dessert quesadilla $5.50 till laziness about re-entering the line won out. Los Amigos is everything I want Chipotle to be. So good and so fresh and so much room for customization! There are multiple sauces, salsas, etc. that are all so delish and high quality. I went with a friend around 6 pm on a Friday night - prime dinner rush! There was a line reaching the door, but it moved fairly quickly. We waited about 10 minutes in line and had no problem finding seating after. We both got bowls and also shared chips, it totally hit the spot and kept us full for a while! The prices are around the same as other fast-casual Mexican spots, but so much better and I'll continue to frequent Los Amigos! read more

The bowls here are fabulous. Second time in Boston and I've eaten here both times. Everything about the food is so full of flavor and the spices are wonderful but not over powering. I love that I can get grilled zucchini and squash with my bowl. The only thing stopping me from giving this place a 5 is the service. The staff is not pleasant. I understand that the masks muffle our voices but they are almost rude when they can't hear you. I equate this location to Popeyes, great food but bad service. Terrible location. If I could give it no stars I would. I came in here with my friends and the staff were extremely disrespectful and so unprofessional. Most of the staff are men. They were cat calling us, staring at us inappropriately, making comments like we couldn't even enjoy a meal in the restaurant because we were so uncomfortable by the whole experience. If I were to rank my most to least favorite terms of burrito chain restaurant, it would be Los Amigos, Anna's, then Chipotle. Why did I rank this way? First and foremost, Los Amigos' guacamole is a free topping where other places charges you extra. Secondly their Pico de Gallo and salsa are at the proper spice level, which adds to the already flavorful ingredients. Third, they have other specialty burrito options like with fried egg, grilled shrimp, you can even order churros on the go. I usually also get an additional hot sauce on the side and the staff is friendly enough yo give me extra every time. Totally recommended if you want dinner on the go or post workout protein intake. read more
