Disclaimer: I'm not entirely sure this was the exact location since I ordered through a corporate catering app but I am sure I ate from anchilitos and it was delicious. This is twice now that I get food from Achilitos and both times were as delicious. The first time I ordered a surf and turf bowl with plantains and all the standard toppings along with chipotle mayo. I found that the serving size was great especially for the price and all the flavors came together perfectly. The steak was cooked well and had a generous amount, the cilantro rice (excellent choice) did not have too much of a cilantro flavor but it is green so I'm thinking they add some to it. Everything tasted fresh. I think what makes the bowl so good is the sauces on top. The blend between sour cream and the chipotle mayo made the food creamier. The second time I ordered a chicken bowl with the same toppings and sauces. This time I paid a little more attention to the taste of each ingredient and individually they are fresh and good but together they also work well. The chicken was tender and a good amount given (maybe a little over half a cup). The chipotle mayo has a Smokey flavor like paprika which I normally wouldn't like, but again it works here. This is the best taco/burrito place I've found since moving to the area in 2011. Fresh, flavorful, and fast. We moved away from the Forrest Hills location and find every excuse possible to head back over there just so we can say, "Well, we might as well pick up Achilito's on the way home..." These bad reviews are interesting. Orders being made wrong is top complaint, I guess we'll see about that because today wasn't one of those days! Birria taco, brisket enchiladas, and brisket tostada. The flavors are great with the brisket! Some of the brisket was a bit dry, but didn't care much since I had leftover BIRRIA BROTH and a small thing of taqueria hot sauce that came with the tostada. I really don't like throwing food away, but honestly I had to throw it away. people interested in another Mexican or Latin food should try El Jefes . unfortunately my location was not within delivery for them. i normally listen to the reviews and tonight I didn't. I placed an order for a plantain burrito and it was mid. like 30 percent decent. I requested two shrimp Baja tacos, because I had a friend who ordered it for me before. guess what, I didn't get what I asked for. but instead I got some can tasted chicken flavored steak meat that prisoners in 1774, and some meat that might be pork. neither was even eatable to make up for what I didn't get. i cant even blame the driver because the bag was stapled. the receipt on the bag shows what I asked for but somehow the bag maybe didn't get the message and put the wrong items in itself. it is after 10 and they already closed. a cold rainy day and night , looking forward to something to eat. to get disappointed. Any place that has honey hot wings has my heart, and the fact that Achilito's has an option for sprinkling cheese on them has won my soul! This place has indoor seating along the window which is PERFECT for people watching, one my of favorite pastimes, so I enjoyed eating it. I originally ordered the honey hot wings and yuca fries, but was given regular fries. I didn't mind because it was delicious, but I did mention it to the cashier, and she brought out some yuca fries for me free of charge! That was so sweet! And the yuca fries were bomb.com. I had ordered in the past from the JP location and been less than impressed. I'm at a friend's house in Cambridge and my kid wanted some ground beef tacos... pretty basic. So I ordered 3 ground beef tacos in a hard shell and 3 in a flour tortilla. They are all woefully over seasoned. No real flavor, just tons of salt. Perhaps worse yet, the ground beef filling is ridiculously wet. Also the supposed hard shell was paper thin and had the texture (and taste) of card board. So the overly wet filling soaked straight through the hard shell tacos to the point that they could not be picked up and eaten. Completely defeats the point of tacos. read more

I've been here twice now (last time was beginning of March pre-pandemic). They offer a variety of favorites like tacos, burritos, etc. It's more of an authentic feel than a Chipotle but similar concept to choose your own toppings. Staff is friendly and service is quick. I appreciate they have a customer use restroom as well which comes in handy when I take a lunch break from my volunteer work nearby. They have counter seating which is limited but I've always found a spot during the week around lunch. Looking forward to going back when I'm in the Forest Hills area again! read more

I won't give this place the 5 stars just because they suck at delivery. I have tried this place twice, the first time was dine in and everything was delicious. I had the plantain burrito and a chicken flauta. They have really good hot sauce (salsa taquera and habanero sauce). The second time I ordered online. They were supposed to deliver to my house that is 10 minutes away from the restaurant in 15 minutes or at least that was what the website said and they ended up delivering my food 1 hour and 10 minutes after that. I effing LOVE this place and I've only ordered once! 4 Grilled cod and al pastor burritos and both TASTED AMAZING!!! We added grilled onions and peppers to all of them. Thinking we're going to try the Baja shrimp next time. After much consideration, I'm leaving the stars at 5 although they charge $13 for a pretty small burrito, especially compared to Anna's Taqueria, which gives you quality and quantity at a more reasonable price. Cute neighborhood restaurant. I ordered nachos with carnitas, mango salsa, sour cream and spinach. The carnitas were crispy and so goood with the chips and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Looking for lunch on a Friday in Hyde Park, MA... tired of the usual burgers and sandwiches. I scoured Grub Hub and found Achilito's Taqueria. Let's dive right in. First of all I ordered two fried cod tacos, I love fish tacos and was really looking forward too this. Was I let down, not really but i have had better. The food was without a doubt very fresh and tasted clean. I think it tasted clean because it lacked proper seasoning, there was some salt but nothing else. As you can see in the attached picture, the taco is a bit sloppy. I don't mind some sloppiness but this was a bit much, it overloaded the soft wheat shell and ruined the experience a bit. Certainly there is a lot of potential here and i will give them another shot, maybe a hard corn tortilla would help. So... decent flavor, lacks some seasoning, a bit too sloppy but worth another shot. Remember I said i ordered through Grub Hub? Well these two soft shell tacos and a 20 ounce Diet Coke came to just over $30 after they added their delivery fee and the driver tip. $30 for two fish tacos... based on that alone i will not order from Achilito's using Grub Hub! read more

I'm supremely annoyed with Achilitos. We have ordered from them numerous times a d the food is good, some of the best Mexican that will deliver to us. However, the food takes FOREVER! It's ridiculous. When we order through *another app* you can see the delivery car just sitting around for 10-20 minutes before it decides to pickup the order and bring it. We would be loyal customers otherwise, but I'm done with this absurd wait time. If you can pick up or go in, it's great, but avoid delivery unless you want to starve! read more

Food is good, but customer service is ATROCIOUS. I ordered from Postmates 2 bowls (one shrimp and one fish), and what arrived was one burrito. The sticker on the bag had my order correct, but the food was not. My angel of a Postmates driver said, not to worry, she would grab the right order, and asked if I could just call in advance. Ohhhh lordy. I called and was first told that my Postmates order didn't exist, even though i had just received a Postmates order (albeit wrong). Then I was told very rudely that I didn't order properly, that I didn't say if it was a bowl or a burrito, or tacos, or enchiladas, etc.. I explained that I didn't WRITE the order I clicked a button from THEIR menu. She yelled at me for a bit about that. She then yelled that I needed to bring back the burrito...no problem lady, my Postmates girl is on it. She then hung up on me. 5 minutes later I got a call from the angel Postmates driver saying that the restaurant has agreed to make 1 bowl, but is refusing to make my other bowl....so i text her my receipt which clearly indicates that I've paid for two bowls... doesn't matter. Postmates Corporate gets involved and speaks to the owner of Achillitos and he is now getting yelled at, and they STILL won't make my bowl. My poor Postmates driver had to leave because they were yelling at her in the store and she was afraid she was going to get out. Me, my Postmates driver, and the man from Postmates Corporate are all totally baffled as to what happened, and why, but take my advice, NEVER order out from Achilitos! read more
