This place was on my list of places to try for a while. We had visited Denver a couple of weeks ago and had a great smothered burrito there. We were trying to find a place here that served something like that and this place was recommended to me. My husband got the burrito banderas which was topped with cheese dip and red and green sauces. I got the enchiladas verdes. Both dishes looked good and were presented well but the taste was pretty bland. The meat in both of our dishes didn't taste like it had much seasoning other than maybe salt and pepper. We were hoping for something that had more authentic flavor. The food did come out fast and was hot. I was hoping for red sauce on my enchiladas but didn't see that on the menu. The green sauce didn't have much flavor. It was also very tight in the smaller room we were in. They shoehorned four tables in there and the server kept bumping into my back every time she was serving someone at one of the two other tables near ours. I would say if you like real authentic Mexican flavors, skip this place. read more

I'd really like to give this place 5 stars. The food was really good and the service wasn't bad; food service was very fast... almost too fast. I think if we'd been in a booth instead of a dining table in the center, my experience would have been 5 star. I had the fish tacos. They were good, but not exceptional, and didn't come out as hot (as in temperature) as I would have liked. The seasoning was only 3 to 4 star as well; nothing exceptional. There were 3 of us at a table for four, and I thought we barely had enough space. All in all, it was a good place. If I lived in Des Moines, I could see visiting frequently. As an out-of-towner here on business, it's not a "destination" place. read more

The chips were fresh and warm, the salsa had a perfect kick, and the entree options are extensive! They have lots of seating and a small outdoor patio! Indulge in some amazing Mexican food at Habaneros next week during the Drake Relays! The service was relatively slow when we visited, but it was a very busy Friday. Very friendly staff and food came out in a reasonable time, just long time to get checks! They also refilled our chips multiple times which was a bonus! I went there Saturday for my birthday dinner when all my gust got there we had ordered our food once my food and 2 of my other gust food came out we discovered our rice was hard we told our waiter our waiter ignored us when we got our rice it was okay once it was time to pay we let our waiter know their was 4 people that was going to be on the same bill they didn't listen when we explained it they got smart so we had to end up paying for a meal they was suppose to put on the same bill of one of my gust but they way me And my gust was talked to I would never go there and the next day after I looked at my card they charged it twice they was very rude I'll never recommend to eat that honestly they should be shut down read more

I only like certain mexican food.... but honey whenever I can get a 1.99 Margarita and a chimichanga meal for 8.00 and it's delicious you have my buisness and they are super nice!! Me and my husband went here for lunch. Here had nachos, and I had fajitas. We poured 11/2 cups of water off our plates. WATER!!! WHEN I ADDRESS OUR WAITRESS SHE SHRUGGED. We got up aft that point, never having eating our food. Offer no compensation. We paid by CC/ and didn't not leave a tip. We got our notice from CC, and the waitress gave herself a tip. Good food, but really bad they don't offer an online menu to order from.; they have no website. Try and order when you have nothing to look at, sucks. You have to try opening a lot of different ratings websites and hopefully someone took photos of the pages of the menu while they were there so you can see what they offer and the prices. If I could rate -100 I would. soooo I ordered a steak burrito thinking it comes with the usual (steak, rice, beans, pico, and sour cream) INISDE the burrito right.... NO! NEGATIVE!
