Do not get the queso flameado. It was so nasty. As soon as it hit my stomach I instantly felt nauseous. Dripping in grease and an embarrassing display of shredded cheese obviously melted via microwave. Worst Mexican dish I've ever had and I LOVE Mexican food. The salsa is decent though and I've had the queso and bean dip and it's been good as well. I've always been told to avoid restaurants with large menus and this place is the perfect example of why. The service was mediocre at best. The server we had LITERALLY threw my food at me, I almost dropped it on myself because I wasn't ready to grab hot plates. Obviously. I'm confused on how the prices were jacked up.. food is expensive there but it's not as good as it used to be. My order is never correct either. I would understand maybe a couple of times but it's EVERY single time. I never get everything I ask for or need to eat my meal that I pay $10+ for.. I'm very disappointed in how this business has went down the drain. I hope they have a come up soon.. This is probably my favorite Mexican and definitely my go to Mexican restaurant. Their Enchiladas Verdes are tasty and their lunch specials are super thrifty. The owner is very nice and staff are very polite also. Very very good! read more

This has the full on Mexican experience. The waiters and waitresses are the real deal. And them complementary chips... don't even get me started. They were birthed from the mother of chips herself. Recently moved here and this has been our go-to Mexican restaurant. The chicken fajitas are good and the margaritas are good. I don't think the salsa is consistent and the guacamole is terrible. I don't think it's even guacamole? It looks and tastes like a puréed green sauce with a little guacamole. Like baby food. Burrito con papas at Habaneros. Solid, inexpensive mexican food. Great service. Clean and friendly. Ask for the hot sauce from the kitchen! There are lots of mexican places in the river region; this one is in a regular rotation. It is not the best, but when you have a craving for good mexican food it is solid. read more

Do not get the Pollo Fundido! TheHabanero's restaurant on the whole is decently managed, spacious and has a meeting room. Service is adequate, but not more than that. I started this review with the comment about the Pollo Fundido because it was exceptionally disappointing. Picture two boneless, skinless chicken breasts flattened to about 5 mm thin, seasoned, then grilled, with a bit of cheese dip poured on top at plating. I suspect the flattened breasts are stored before cooking in a rectangular container because they appeared as a single 5" x 8" mass, leading my companions to ask, "What is THAT?" Was it tasty? Let's say it tasted as described. The chicken for this entree is served with Mexican-style rice and a guacamole salad. Those items and the beverages were the best part of the meal. You're welcome to give Habanero's a try. Each person's experience may differ. Just do yourself a favor and avoid the Pollo Fundido. read more

Our family has been eating here for years. We have always loved the food and service. The last several visits the service hasn't been that great. Our last visit my daughters food came out cold and when we told the owner he did try to fix it. She got a new order but this one was cold also. The tacos were full of grease, more than usual. The waiter asked how everything was that night and when we tried to tell him , he just laughed. Not sure if it was the language barrier or not. Will not be eating here anytime soon. read more

Reasonable service and prices. As for the food... I'm not Hispanic but after living in Colorado and New Mexico I've found myself craving more "mom and pop" style Hispanic cuisine instead of the corporate chain restaurants. Pork green Chile doesn't seem to be a thing around here but I'm still happy to come back to Habaneros since their food is good and portions big enough to not leave me hungry when I walk out the door. read more

Easily the best mexican restaurant in the area, everyone and their momma thinks "habaneros" when you ask where they want to eat for lunch or dinner. They have great service and you'll notice they have the best prices for menu items and alcohol. I go here for lunch and get the lunch specials. Great food and quick service, as required for a lunchtime place. Working people need to get in and eat, and get back to work. Service is great.
