I love High Peak Asian Restaurant, and it's conveniently close to home. The coconut rice is my all-time favorite--I could eat it plain! I usually pair it with something like the Fiery Chicken (which isn't actually fiery unless you want it to be) and samosas. My husband usually goes for the pad Thai, and he's always happy with it. In a strip mall next to UPS store. Its so low key you cant even tell its open. They share a parking lot with the other shops at the strip mall. We were mmediately seated. You can choose to order at the cashier or they will take the order from you. Small non descript place. There are just a few tables and minimal decoration. I ordered hot tea, hubs ordered a diet coke. We were served our drinks immediately. We ordered spring rolls as apetiser followed by fiery shrimp for the hubs and bun tay kauswe for me. Spring rolls came and we realized we ordered the wrong ones we had really wanted fried ones. And he said that was egg rolls and swopped it out for us at no charge. Very impressed with seevice Hubby loved his fiery shrimp. When my bun tay kauswe came i was a little taken aback by the bland appearance. But with the lime and chilli flakes, omg was it good!! We stopped in for lunch because of the great reviews. The restaurant is located in a strip mall. There are about a dozen tables inside with a rather nondescript decor. There was one server who was friendly and attentive. The menu offers a blend of Asian foods with a Burmese twist. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. We were the only ones dining in. I had the Tom Yum soup with chicken. The soup was warm and flavorful, I could taste the lemon grass. The chicken was really dry, however. I had ordered the Jasmine rice, but he brought out the coconut rice which was too sweet for me. My husband had the Burmese Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was ok with a lot of noodles. read more

This can only be defined as a dive. The decor is actually a little off putting. However, the food is very good. We have experienced the mango tofu and the eggplant with garlic. We ordered the coconut rice as the accompaniment. We also tried the samosas. The dishes were quite tasty. They can adjust the degree of spice based on your preference. Great food my favorite Asian in Lincoln Will definitely recommend to anyone that asks

I've been going there for years. And the food has always been consistently spectacular. I usually get the green curry level two with veggies, tofu and chicken. Also their coconut rice it's fantastic. However, about a month ago I got takeout for a friend and myself and we were less than impressed. Thinking it was just an off day i got takeout recently for 4 people. Before ordering, I checked and found they had changed hands right before my last experience. So first I spoke with the person on the phone and told them I was not happy with the last meal. I had gotten there. He explained if you order online. It's different than if you order over the phone and can tell the person exactly what you want. I always order over the phone. I asked for specific things in the meals and he said he would be happy to provide them that he apologized for the past experience. Lo and beholdThis meal was even worse than the last one. He did nothing that he promised -- our dinners were nothing more than tofu in a watery broth, not like formerly when the containers were packed with mushrooms, eggplant, baby corn, water chestnuts, broccoli, assorted peppers, snow peas, kale and other wonderful vegetables with ample chicken and tofu. I will probably try it one more time in a month or so to see if they've come up to par. But for what I paid and what I got was extremely disappointing since they have changed hands. We loved High Peak in Omaha, so when I learned it was closed, I was pretty bummed. All of my family had been able to try it including my mom, uncle, aunt, and grandma, and they all had enjoyed the unique Burmese cuisine that is not commonly found in the midwest. Eric R. and I recently visited my grandma to check on her in the pandemic, and on the way back, we decided to stop for dinner in Lincoln. I did a quick yelp search and realized that High Peak had reopened in Lincoln, and was not a far drive from our stop at Trader Joe's. The menu was comfortably familiar as I recognized all of the dishes we had tried in Omaha. I ordered eggplant, and Eric R. got a chicken curry noodle soup. We enjoyed our dishes, which fueled us for the remainder of the drive back to Kansas. There is an extensive menu, but the one thing I am sad about is that the sizzling shrimp appetizer was sold out/unavailable, which was the same case every time I went here in Omaha. Had the Burmese Pad Thai with Chicken and it was amazing. Def would have done more spice next time. The 1 was natural but tasty. Tried someone's beef at 5 and it had a nice lingering heat to it. Tried the spring rolls and they were odd without the peanut sauce. Would definitely go back to try the other pad thai meals. read more

l've always wanted to try Burmese food and was super excited to find this spot in Lincoln. I've heard Burmese is a combination of Indian & Thai flavors, both of which I love- due to geography. I chose chicken kebat, which is an awesome spin on chicken tikka masala, along with Sesame Beef. Sesame beef seemed more like Mongolian, which makes sense. Both were awesome and unique. I had the typical basil fried rice with chicken I've had at 20 other restaurants. It's always the same so it's a good baseline. Here it was different. The dish was extremely flavorful, but not fish sauce heavy like most places. A crispy fried egg with a perfect runny yolk sat atop the dish. It tasted amazing, salty and savory, and went well with the sweet coconut rice. I regret not living closer, as I am just traveling through. I'd really like to try more of their food. read more

My fiancé and I noticed the new place and decided to pop in. Right away, I noticed a decent amount of outdoor seating. Then, when we walked in, we were greeted by a woman behind the counter. We chose are seats and flipped through a two sided menu. I really liked this because it had lots of options but not enough where I felt overwhelmed. The resultant is decorated fairly bright with blue walls and an interesting orange wave pattern across the walls. It was bright, but also understated and had a "small business" vibe with the boba flavors on a medium size white board. First, we ordered the samosa appetizer. There were four perfectly crispy samosa with a sweet and spicy chili sauce. It was a great appetizer for two, but I think could serve one or two more depending on how hungry you were. 4.50 for four medium sized samosas. Great price and value. Moving to the entrees, my fiancé ordered the sesame pork ribs and I ordered the chicken yellow curry. As soon as our waiter brought his pork ribs, we knew it was going to be dank. The smell was amazing. He had 6 perfectly cooked, sauced and tender ribs with rice and garnishes. My fiancé is very picky and was "awe"-ing the whole meal. He showed me the ribs, which were very large and the pork was perfectly cut. This is the kicker--$9.99 for the ribs. We were SHOCKED at how large and amazing these were for the price. I told the waitress that they definitely could charge more given their quality and quantity. But hey, our wallets weren't complaining either. My yellow curry was delicious and very traditional. It had chicken, potato, corn, mint and cake with rice. I should have gotten it a little spicier but I'll do that next time lol. We noticed that on their wall, was a Omaha world herald article singing their praises. Clearly, they are worth the praise. This is a must need for Lincoln! Don't let the interior of this place deter you from the fantastic food that comes out of this kitchen. It is a very simple café, but the food is very excellent quality. I tend to take out more from this restaurant and dine in. Best kept secret in Lincoln, this restaurant has some of the best Thai food that I have ever had. The Bernese pad Thai is absolutely amazing and the spice levels are true to Thai cuisine. A level 6 for example is hot enough but not overly so when I say a 10 they mean a 10 on spice and it is fantastic! read more

High Peak must have been down in the valley the couple times we visited and after a couple of uninspired attempts, unfortunately this place won't be able to dig out of the hole they put us in both food & service wise. We always order to take out because the service when you eat there is a little spotty. It is one of our favorite places for yellow curry.

Folks of Lincoln, yall are blessed to have this gem in your town. As a world traveler who has been to many Asian countries (including Thailand), I must admit that the food served up in here is on POINT. The spiciness level is not a joke so don't feel courageous and ask for a 8. Ask for a 2 or a 1 if you're scared. Other than that, the food is amazing. Absolutely amazing. If I had this in my town, I'd eat at it on the regular. The decor is similar to many "hole in the wall" restaurants I've visited before with painted murals and the staff are friendly. If you're not sure what to order, get any of the pork dishes. They're all great. First time visiting Nebraska and man, this place makes me want to visit Nebraska again in the future.
