There price has been going way up . I been shopping there for over 3 years , there price was ok . Now is comparable to Menards or home Depot . Is not helping are community.i buy items to help olderly people .who's houses are in poor conductors. I don't charge them .so that's why I was been buying from the restore .windows $95 and up, Menards $68 Light fixture $20 each one of them Menards 2 for $20 I know the they notice clients declined . I been twice this week . And has been real slow in customer. read more

I just went in and window shopped. it looks like a lot of variety. Many kitchen appliances, doors, windows to chose from. Store seemed clean and organized. I tried looking at doors, but too many were in the same section, so I couldn't pull it out to see if it would suit my needs. I did not ask for help, so know nothing about the staff. there appears to be plenty of new selections there. read more

They get stuff for free but charge like it new. ...that's NO deal...why would anyone buy stuff there used for a new price haven't found any seals there. read more

This is the new and shiny location for Habitat for Humanity - Restore. I was excited that this location opened. I know that the other restore is always super busy and this one will be also. They have great options for appliances, light fixtures, painting supplies and so much more. You never know what you are going to get here at a Restore. You just know that you are helping a good cause for a good price. Make sure you check them out when you drive by. Its a busy corner kinda near Homemakers, but worth the look for treasures for your home projects. read more

We are deep in the trenches of a major remodeling job and have visited this wonderful store many times. Like so many places of this nature, we sometimes hit the Mother Lode and other times walk out empty-handed, but never disappointed. We found great bargains on some antique alder, paneled doors for ¼ the price of buying flat sawdust doors at a big box home improvement store. The other big find for us was some incredible porcelain tile for our master bath for about $100 compared to almost $500 at the big name stores. If you walk in with an open-mind and some creative ideas, you are likely to love this place. The staff was helpful and they very kindly held our doors for a few days until we could get back to pick them up. We will visit again ~~ and often! read more

Visited this store today with my father who is a Vietnam vet and can not wear a mask due to a breathing issue. He tried to explain his issue where he was meant with I don't care you can't shop here without one. My father returned to car and I proceeded inside. Upon me leaving 2 boys and a girl are making fun of my father. I approached them and let the ring leader know if I ever heard him make fun of a vet again i would have his job. He thought that was funny. I offered to walk outside with the young man, he chose not to and everyone else decided they should apologize. A manager came from out of no where and assured me this was not appropriate behavior. I made sure they knew everyone would know their treatment of a veteran. I won't do business at a place that doesn't value their veterans. read more

High prices, and in many cases higher then retail. Some of the people will work with you on pricing, and others are complete dicks about it and will argue with you. I have donated many items to the Restore, but feel it was a bad decision and will start giving stuff to DAV again or free on Craigslist. read more

This place used to be halfway decent. "Used to" being the operative term there. The staff are some of the most unprofessional, unkempt and inappropriate people I have ever seen in a place of business. While this place does utilize volunteer labor, they do have paid staff that I'm referring to in the statement above. I visited this location on a Saturday afternoon to pick up a few hardware odds and ends for a project. Their selection of hardware has dwindled to a record low. I can work with that though, so I scrounged up what I could find to get the job done. As I got ready to head to the checkstand, I decided to take one more glimpse through the bins just in case I missed a useful piece or two hidden in the abyss. As I dug through the final time, a staff member was on the next aisle throwing items up onto the top of the 10+ft tall shelves that divide the aisles. One of those items flew over the shelf, nearly hitting me on the head. It missed by a few inches. I froze for a sec, shocked that a large item had just flown past me like it did. With all the staff in the aisle that were adjusting shelves (same aisle I was in) I just looked at them in disbelief. They all had smirks on their faces. I said that they were lucky the item didn't hit me because it was a sure way to land a pretty big lawsuit and they laughed. They brushed off the entire incident as humorous! I don't take lightly to my safety being endangered, especially in a place of business. The employee who was throwing items could've readily accessed a ladder or portable stair set like any other retailer has to place the items on the shelf. Instead, she decided to be lazy and throw things, almost hitting a customer with them. I asked for whoever was in charge of the store and was led to a poorly groomed man who also did not take the issue seriously. He allowed the staff to stand there gawking and laughing at me for raising the issue to him. One staf member started mouthing off when he overheard me talking to the manager and then proceeded to say "I'mma shut up right now before I get myself in trouble. I'mma shut up...hahahahaha." The manager continued to allow him to speak inappropriately. I even asked if he was going to tolerate that type of behavior and he was silent. This place is not worth doing business with. Supposedly they have a new manager who is trying to turn it around, but at least for the near future, I will not be setting foot in this location until I am certain that the staff involved have been removed or properly disciplined by their management. Drive further to the location in Urbandale...it's worth it. read more

I am fairly new to this store and was surprised at all that they had but was also surprised at the very high prices on these items. This store sells donated items that were given to them for free so these items were unwanted and given away and they need to remember that when pricing these items. I am shocked at how high the items are marked, you can go to Lowe's or Menards and find these items new and for the same price. They wanted for a used, scratched freezer almost $600. They had the same high end Maytag dryer that I have and wanted $500 for a used unit. Really? For that price, you can get the same one new. There are only a couple of employees that are nice and helpful and there are others that you really want to steer clear of as they are not people friendly and working here seems too much for them. This store needs to work on the selling of these items as you can not charge full retail for donated and used items. Some of the items really need to go in the garbage and not to be sold. If this store's mission is the help and serve the community with the money they raise from this store, then they need to work on fair prices for donated/free items, the attitudes of their employees, and treating customers the right way and not making us feel stupid when we ask why something is priced so high and telling us that a $35 plastic mailbox with stand that was missing parts to keep it together and tell us that you can get $50 for it easily. You could not get $20 for this piece of junk at a garage sale, no one would pay $35,$50, or anything higher. Come on. You have got to be kidding. This store reminds me of the Eastside Goodwill store. They both have the same philosophy. People donate items and these stores take advantage of people's generosity by charging full retail for items that you would find at a garage sale. These stores rip off the community and I certainly would never shop at these places ever after seeing what I have. Who would buy a $15 bird feeder at a second hand store? Not me. A rug for full retail price? Not me. Very disappointed in these stores that are supposed to serve the community. Who are they really serving? Themselves, probably. If they really cared, they would mark their donated items like if it was being sold at a garage sale, and not full retail. Please stop with this nonsense, the people in your community a little bit smarter than you think to know that we are being ripped off when shopping at your stores. We know better than to pay full retail for used items that were given to you for free. read more
