They do not do that here at Casa here in Hagerstown. They are more concerned about coming staying on cell phone watching whatever they can on their cell they don't advocate for us. The assistant admitted that it's his fault that his employees are not trained properly so here they are putting 18 who are pregnant back out on the street and pushing them back to their abusers because they had nowhere to and they didn't help them are putting people that are totally disabled and not accommodating to their allowing them to be victimized and abused within a safe place the shelter by other clients for a week straight and they done nothing about it the abuse happened in front of an employee and nothing done for a whole have all kinds of but when it comes down to it, they don't help not one violence victim with any of that funding so where is all the fundraising money going? Where is all the federal grants the state is all this money? all the food that they have in the pantry that the victims of domestic violence in the shelter does not get where's all the hygiene the personal care that they have a big closet full of food of hygiene and personal care they get trial size shampoos and conditioners instead of getting the big sizes that are donated so there's a lot of question here. Where is all the donations? Where is all the money because us victims of domestic violence we're not getting it we're not seeing it. We're not getting any help. They just put out on the street with nowhere to go no food no nothing no safety plan no counseling no crisis intervention a girl in her 30s with children left and went back to an unsafe place a girl who was pregnant that is getting ready to give birth was in the next week or so has nothing for her unborn child and no home and went back to her abuser. There is very nice and helpful. Overall I enjoy going there and my friends. We make it a morning some days and we have lunch afterwards, so it's very good.

Goodwill was another spot I hit up my birthday weekend thrifting extravaganza in Hagerstown. It's…read moreconveniently located within walking distance to both the Hope Center Thrift Store and World Market thrift. Conveniently it has its own lot(s) one on the store entrance side of the building and another on the donation store to the rear. It's located on a busy city street in a mixed commercial/residential neighborhood. Although the police station is close by I would consider this area a little questionable. It was fine during the day but probably different at night. With that being said I was surprised by this Goodwill location as it's different from any other I visited on the east coast. EVERYTHING IS .99 CENTS, with the exception of mattresses and drinks. I really don't know why it's priced that way or if clearance from other location eventually end up here but the quality was decent. I only saw a few pieces that were flawed by rips or wear so I do think it goes thru a sorting process of some sort. I'd say 95% of the store consists of clothing - all hung and organized by item and loosely by size (meaning organization wasn't perfect). The house ware dept was meager at best and mostly bare. There were some books and videos in the back. The store itself is pretty basic and utilitarian. No displays, just racks and racks of clothes, spaced well so it was easy to navigate. Social distancing was also not a problem and everyone was masked. I did see what appeared to be dressing rooms but not labeled as such. Every thrift store I encountered that weekend, other Goodwill's included, were not allowing trying on of clothes due to covid. I walked out with a few decent pieces of clothes for my grandkids feeling satisfied.
