Two years ago, I did so for the first time and just recently, I returned to get re-certified (along with my hubby who earned his first certification). Stacy Skinner is an excellent instructor, fabulously organized, detail-oriented and communicative. She has an incredibly well-structured approach to their programs, sending out all components well in advance including course information, materials and updates/confirmations. In class, Stacy presents just the right balance of study, keeping a concise format but always allowing plenty of time for questions from all students. The interaction is very positive, and everyone always seems to learn something new from this dialogue. I did prefer the changes she has made to evolve the class format as it is currently. Stacy combined online training modules (along with exam prep questions at the end of each) that could be watched in advance at your own pace, with classroom practice sessions and hands on skills testing to ensure everyone mastered proper technique. Dividing the course content up in this manner was very nice for busy schedules and helped me complete the advance work at my convenience. The hands on training and skills testing sessions are very well monitored with lots of good tips provided. Toward the end of class, the exams are taken and cover a wide variety of class content that was thoroughly discussed. Later that day, Stacy emails your certification card along with closing correspondence and you're ready to go. She makes it as easy as possible for you to work the training into your schedule and get it done efficiently and effectively.

Arrived at noon as a new donor. At that point, I was the only new donor in the door. I went through…read morea few steps of the process within 15 minutes of arrival. I had my veins checked, saw the video, had my photo taken and got my donor card. Then nothing for over an hour. Not even a word on what the deal was. A few other new donors came in while I was waiting... and they were stalled as well. At 1:30 - I had had enough of waiting around with no end in sight.... and no communication. I donated plasma for several years in the Milwaukee, WI area... a facility that was always packed... and I never had a wait like this. Even a new donor, there was never more than a fifteen minute wait to move to the next step in the process.

Terribly understaffed. Long wait times most of the day. Payment is okay but seems to be going down…read moreas time goes on. If you have no other source of income, this is for you. But expect to get paid roughly $12.50 - $25/hr for your time, depending on lines.
