Always a great company for my home security, automation and Audio/visual systems. Today I needed a new subwoofer for my theater. After 25 years it finally cracked. Called ahead and they had what I needed ready. Even offered to deliver it but I was already there. It is also always fun to see what the new stuff is and how it can integrate with my system. I would give them zero stars if I could. My alarm app never works. The modem constantly disconnects. The purpose was to be able to disarm the alarm remotely so I didn't wake my family when I get home at night. It never works properly. The system itself is expensive and archaic. It cannot differentiate between rooms, windows, glass breaks and such. read more

Sadly, I'm obligated to work with Habitech since they're contracted through my home builder, Drees Homes. So, I'm stuck with them for the installation of my security system and media lines. They haven't even started the work, yet it's already been a pain. My issues , so far... Their standard structured enclosure is 14". I request an upgrade to 28" or 42". They quote me $175 for a 28". For that price I could purchase a well-known brand at 42" with hinged door. Cat5e is their standard data wiring. I requested Cat6, and was quoted $350 to upgrade. One may purchase 1,000 feet (double the amount needed for my home) of Cat6 for less than $130 retail. Mind you, they're already going to be running the Cat5e wire, this is the price they're quoting me to use Cat6 instead. Since I'm not going to be overcharged like this, I ask for them to please install their Cat5e wiring in conduits within the walls. That way it will be much easier for me to upgrade the wiring at a later time. They, of course, refuse. It's not part of their standards and practices to install within conduits. All I'd need to make my life easier down the road is to have them run their wiring through six, $4, 10-foot conduits in the walls. Instead they offer to do the job after the build of my home at an additional fee. I'm not looking forward to seeing their quality of work. I can already tell it's going to be rushed and sloppy. Once the home is complete, looks like I'll get the fun of cutting into my new walls or finding creative ways to use drill extensions from the attic through the inside of my walls to upgrade my networking the way I originally wanted. If I have the choice, I will not work with them again. I'm very disappointed that Drees Homes would contract with them. I plan to update this after the home build is complete, and their job is done. read more

Our home was prewired by Habitech, so I used them to install my security , television and patio speakers. The techs that came to the house were efficient and personable and helpful..got the job done timely, without much fuss. What you don't know find out until after the deal is done is that they nickel and dime you to death by charging every time you have to pair something to the app. When I made my order I asked about a digital door lock and assumed it would be done when they came to do the speakers and security system. That didn't happen, so I bought a Kwikset 910 lock to do it myself. Unfortunately Habitech has to send someone out to the house to add the lock to the alarm.com app. The same thing with my nest thermostat that is right next to the alarm panel..another service call to pair it! Telephone tech support is not good at all. They don't EVER answer the phone and certainly don't return calls timely. Unfortunately they were a mistake I have to live with. read more

Had Habitech recently install my security system and they did a great job. The install went really well and the technician took his time training me on how to use all the features. I am not very tech savvy and was worried I would have a tough time learning it. I was happily surprised how user friendly the system is and it is great that I can control the alarm now when I travel right from my phone. read more

Habitect is the security subcontractor my builder uses for security systems and prewired speakers. We had the house set up with surround sound speakers and the mounted 2 televisions. The prices were good and the work was fantastic. They came early, got everything installed, cleaned up and taught me how to use the system. read more

Sean has been awesome every step of the way...From ordering parts, to setting up the equipment, to teaching me how to use the equipment. I have had enough. Their install was poor four years ago. The equipment was old since I had better equipment in my prior home where that was installed 14 years ago. This equipment that four years later I need a service call to make sure the time is correct on the system is just not worth it. Changing to a company that in my opinion takes more responsibility and installs better equipment for the money. read more
