Cute and chill, but the cat situation was a bit much…read more---------------- The Harris Family Farm was cute! My husband and I went on a Friday, the day before their Lavender Days event. We tried the lavender lemonade slushy and it was super refreshing. We were the only ones there, and pulling up was a little confusing since it looks very home-y, and we weren't totally sure where things were happening. They had a nice little selection of goodies for sale, and overall the vibe was really chill. However... there was a cat hanging around that became a bit of a deal-breaker. It climbed right up on the table where the utensils, napkins, and bagged chips were -- literally sat on the chip bags like it owned the place. Clearly not its first time doing that. who wants cat booty on their food? I'm all for farm animals and pets, but I don't think they should be around areas where food is being handled or served -- especially where straws and napkins are kept. Then our drink came out with a straw already in it, and while it was brought from the kitchen, it made me wonder if the cat's allowed back there too. They also mentioned a flower garden we could check out, which we did but it took only a few minutes, and then we headed out. Overall, it's a relaxing little spot, but not much to do, and the food hygiene situation needs some serious work. I definitely don't want cat butt near my snacks.

The guy tried to add another $20 on the price when I got there. I called him on it so he went with original quote. Next, I bought some flag stone and he charged me .02 cents more that price and I didn't catch it until I got home. Not a big deal, but it's the principle. I went by today to buy more flag stone and the owner told me I had to take the pieces to the scale and load them myself. I'm a 69 year old female who has had 2 hip replacements. Really?? An employee overheard and ended up helping me. He was very kind and helpful, which made up for the rude owner.

Customer service is terrible. This summer we decided to start landscaping and beautifying our property. We had a large budget, and were willing to shop local and support our community, knowing we would probably pay a little more. When we arrived we spoke to a man we assume to be the owner. We had taken a picture of the area we wanted to revamp, and showed him the picture, giving him wide latitude to make suggestions. We gave him some ideas of what we liked. He proceeded to fumble through the nursery, having no real ideas or suggestions. After much prompting, we finally came up with a plant idea. He said he had some in back. After a long pause, my wife suggested we see the plants. He said "no, they're way back there." Apparently not willing to make the 50 yard trek to these plants. He came up with a few alternatives, which we agreed sounded nice. He then informed us he didn't carry them. We asked if we could pay ahead and order the plants, he simply suggested we come back in a few weeks and see if he had them in stock. This guy could not have been less interested in selling us anything in his nursery, and lost out of a big sale because of it. Simply lazy and disinterested would be the best way to describe him. If he doesn't care, neither do we. We went to another local nursery in Auburn and spent our money there. They took one look at the pictures and came up with hundreds of ideas for us to choose from, and could not have been more helpful. I will not return to this nursery, it's people like this that make it impossible to shop local. A huge disappointment.

The owner is knowledgeable about every species of plant he sells. Be sure to visit the photo gallery while there.
