I stopped taking the pharmaceuticals that are meant to be taken until death and offered no hope for recovery. Eventually, I decided to visit Elaine and take a different path. Elaine noticed my positive Lyme tests and she said let's go after that first. We did. It's a long road but there is improvement and hope. Elaine takes the time, listens and makes appropriate suggestions. I recommend Elaine and her team at Holistic family healthcare without reservation. Randa and Lee in the office handle everything else professionally and with aplomb. I actually look forward to a doctor visit. And get information that I wouldn't at the typical doctors office. Thank you Elaine.

Of all the reviews I have written over the last few years, this is probably the most important to…read moreme. Elaine hardy, MS, RN, APN, C; is not just an amazing medical professional, she is one of those caring and intuitive physicians from a bygone era. It used to be when you walked into a doctor's office, they had more than HMO training, more than just the ability to follow HMO rules and regulations, there used to be doctors who actually had knowledge and were intuitive about your body and condition. You will find this once again Elaine. Over eight years ago, after having gone to a myriad of doctors and specialist, all of which were baffled by my condition, it was Elaine who was finally able to pin-point my issues and begin to help me work through them. By the time I had reached her, I was in fairly bad shape, unable to walk on my own and had a lump in my breast, most doctors were penciling in the death certificate but Elaine took a far more positive approach. She worked with my family to help us develop a treatment protocol which centered around my desire to stay as holistic as possible. She was sensitive to my desire to treat the cancer holistically and supported my decision, even though at times, I knew she was concerned. Elaine did not lecture me or try to force me into anything I was not comfortable in doing. Instead, she would lay out the options to my family and allowed us to make the decision that best suited my body. Elaine then supported us throughout our chosen treatment protocol. I still have clean cancer numbers 4 1/2 years after having a 3 1/2 pound, triple-negative tumor removed in a mastectomy. When most doctors didn't think I'd make it off the surgery table, Elaine stayed supportive of our family. In the end, I survived the cancer. I am still dealing with the severe neurological disease that put me in a wheelchair as a paraplegic but even in what seems like a dead-end condition, we are seeing small steps forward. Elaine worked with all my illnesses from the beginning, helping me to find ways to deal with the pain, looking for new treatment methods when the old ones weren't working and giving me hope for the future. She never gives up on you, she just keeps on working to find the answers. Her knowledge is amazing and she is willing to think 'outside the box' in trying to find the root cause of your issues instead of treating symptoms, something that is difficult to find in the medial field these days. She looks for the layers that so often are involved in illness instead of a short-cut version that usually keeps one feeling...just good enough, instead of great! After seeing literally dozens of specialist, I have never met another medical professional that I hold in as high of esteem as I do Elaine. No matter where we are in the country, we find our way back to Elaine. It is because of her knowledge and support in helping us deal and work through both the cancer and the neurological issues that I am here to write this recommendation right now. If you are seeking a qualified and caring Holistic Professional, look no further. You will not be disappointed in Elaine Hardy.

I came with the intention of getting Lasik performed on my bad eye (the other was corrected with cataract surgery.) I am 26 years old with recent history of 6 eye surgeries for retinal detachments, retinal thinning, and cataracts. I assumed this practice would be qualified. I received two consults, first one was almost $250 which went well, and Dr. Lalin as well as Dr. Shah seemed optimistic that Lasik was the right choice. Let me mention I had technically two lasik appointments, and both times the technicians failed to realize I was scheduled for one eye only. Doesn't exactly make me feel confident in care. They scheduled me for a pre-op Lasik appointment, which was DIFFERENT than the consult, on a Thursday. Due to my eye conditions, without wearing a contact I am unable to see. One eye is extremely near sighted and one is extremely far sighted. I can't wear glasses due to the drastic difference of prescriptions, so I needed to take off work for 1 week to prepare. I walk in Thursday morning for pre-op and the woman at the desk demands $2000 for the surgery that was allegedly the next day. I was under the impression I was scheduled for a pre-op appointment, and no one had mentioned surgery, let alone up-front payment before the consult! The office manager, Tracy, was so kind and helped square everything away. Three hours later...I met with Dr. Shah who mentioned since they "forgot" to tell me about my surgery date, I needed to prepare again, and take off another week of work, since I couldn't wear a contact, for the surgery date. I received a call a few days later demanding payment again, despite being told that I could bring my care credit info the day of the surgery. I paid the $2000, despite feeling nervous for the surgery due to this facility being all over the place. Wednesday I received a call saying my surgery was 7:15 Friday - I needed to pick up the prescriptions they gave me. I paid out of pocket for these scripts. Thursday NIGHT I received ANOTHER call stating "the machine isn't working properly. We are going to reschedule your surgery." Two weeks I had taken off of work, my boyfriend took off work so he could drive me, $2250 gone, plus the cost of prescriptions, and nothing to show for it. They refunded the $2000, but I am still fighting for the $250 since I don't trust them to operate. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

It is Friday and after 1 call yesterday and 2 today I still have zero knowledge of it being read, other than it won't be today. If it is read on Monday that would be 10 days from the test. I am not dying for the results, although if I was I would be in an an ultra stressful situation. I just cannot understand how any competently run business would not have acted pro-actively. Yesterday I was told I am not the only one awaiting results. This facility's managment should be handling this. If necessary replace the group that reads these things, or at least threaten to. UPDATE-After speaking with the cardiologist who was to read the echo I was told on day 8 it would br read by Sunday, which is (was) day 9. Today is Tuesday, day 12. It is the end of day 12 so we are now looking at 13 days to have an echo read. But no one in management will take my call nor return it. They are "aware" of the situation. That one star rating is there because there are no minus stars to give out. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. Now 2 days later. they have no idea when it will be read or why it has not been-"but rest assured we are aware of the situation". Today is day 14. 2 full weeks have passed since an echo. The industry norm is a one day read and that has not happened. The report wa finally received and forwarded to my doctor. Who forwarded it to my cardiologist. Each office reported that what the doctor who read the echo can see looks good. However there were many areas where the imaging did not capture what it should. In other words not only did it take 2 weeks to get it back but they did a lousy echo. I URGE EVERYONE TO AVOID THIS PLACE.

When I was received in the office they inform me that I will have a 3 to 4 hour wait. I asked why they did not call to inform me of this when they knew of the schedule change. They had no comment on this. I could not wait that long and I left the office. I informed my referring physician about this occurring and told his staff that I was not happy about what had occurred especially since they had no excuse such as an emergency etc. I rebooked my appointment for Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 10:15 AM. Since the first experience had a delayed schedule and since I am only 8 minutes from the imagining center, I called to confirm my 10:15 AM appointment on Monday, June 28th and again on the morning of June 29th to find out if they were NOT running late. My wife and I were informed that they were on schedule. I arrived at my appointment 45 minutes early and told them I have a 10:15 AM appointment. They advice me that my appointment was for 11:15 AM. I told them that we just confirmed my appointment less than 1 hours ago and that they were running on time and confirmed my 10:15 AM appointment. They asked who told us this and of coarse we did not have a name but there was only 1 person at the reception desk and she claimed it was not her that talked to my wife earlier. I told them that this is the second time that a scheduling problem existed for me and said that they obviously must do this often for me to have this happen to me a second time in a row. They then claimed they had an emergency and were running behind to cover themselves. I informed them that I was a practicing dentist for 40 years and the way they handled this situation was not acceptable. In the waiting room was another patient who decided to stand up and yell at me for my anger at the office with this problem happening again. This patient was a nurse and she wanted to know who I was and my practice name. I gave her my practice name and she proceeds to tell me that she was going to go online and tell that I was arguing with the staff in a manner that got her mad. I gave her my practice name but also told her that this was none of her business. I would steer clear of this business as they have a pattern of being untrue with their scheduling practices. It is also obvious to me when reviewing other posting about this business that the pattern described by me is a common practice. See other reviews. KEEP AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS! What once was such a comfortable and patient-focused atmosphere to the point where it felt like a spa (purple terry-cloth robes, lavender flameless candles, free samples of glycerin-free lubricant in the bathroom, information about how insurance works everywhere, clothing drops for expecting mothers, free emery boards, mirrors, and wristbands) has now been completely taken over by Atlantic Healthcare. Watching the whole thing happen over the last few years was so disheartening. Each employee from front desk to diagnostics to the amazing OB/GYNs themselves looked completely devastated by the change, from how it affected their computer systems to how they could effectively treat their clientele. Even my medication regimen has been dramatically altered because Atlantic won't allow it. Terrifying to think that big companies can buy out amazing local gems like this one and now my body is physically paying the price. The place looks gradually more run down each time I go, giving it that cold "hospital-feel" with Atlantic logos plastered over everything. Even the regular mailers clients used to get with updates are gone; I had no notification that these new OB/GYNS were coming in after Dr. Uzbay left. I can't imagine what the pay cuts were/are like for everyone. My heart goes out to Understanding Women and all of their loyal patients who are now at the mercy of a medical conglomerate who barely sees them as a statistic.
