I was able to get a free street parking spot right out front on a Saturday afternoon. Lots of tables when I walked in with singles and pairs chatting or doing some quiet work on their laptop. Staff were friendly and I asked for a recommendation - they asked if I liked matcha (who doesnt!) and recommended something from their specials menu. I decided to go with the iced pistachio matcha with oat milk and after everything it was about $10. Not the cheapest, but I think its kind of the going price of matcha drinks these days. The drink took a while and I was just about to get a bit restless when another staff brought out the drink and I was a bit shocked. The drink was HUGE, probably double the size of what you'd get at any other matcha shop! The most unique thing about this drink was there was literally pistachio bits with every. single. sip. Most places only do the visual sprinkle of pistachio on top so you get maybe 1 or 2 sips with pistchio and that's it. Nok Nok serves up quality and every single sip I had of that large drink had pistchio crunchies. Delicious and I will definitely be back.

I came here with a friend. She ordered a Coco Berry Matcha, and I had my "go to" favourite drink at any Waves Coffee house which is the Rooibos Frappe, made with yogurt. The Coco Berry Matcha is the Waves version of the what appears to be a somewhat viral drink right now. Basically, lots of places seem to be offering some kind of Match drink with a white layer and a red layer made from strawberries, or raspberries or maybe just red berries in general. My friend said her drink was not very good. The berry part of it was like jam. Huh? Jam in a drink? Weird! My Rooibos Frappe was awesome as usual. They usually give you the option of having it made with ice cream or yogurt. I have always found it to be tastier with the yogurt option so now I don't even wait for them to ask me how I'd like it done. I just tell them right away that I'd like it made with yogurt. Super unimpressed with my friend's report on the Coco Berry Matcha but since I've had multiple experiences at this shop before and they have generally all been good, I am still giving them a good rating for this first review.

Loaf had strong pistachio flavor. I liked whipped cream and loaf combination. Pesto and mozzalera swirl was a bit too salty for me. Dough was super flaky and buttery, I liked the dough texture so much, but filling could be more minder. Unfortunately, I did not have ferrero rocher danish. I heard that this one was the best. Mousse was so delicious and dough was very flaky and buttery. Overall, I think their pastries are always outstanding and good quality. The place was extremely busy and could not get a table. I know there are definitely matcha lovers who enjoy those extra grams and a stronger latte, so this really comes down to preference. Since it was my first visit, I'm sure I could have asked more questions or requested an adjustment, but they were busy and I didn't want to hold up the line. One small suggestion would be having simple syrup available alongside the napkins and lids. Especially when it's busy, it would make it easy for customers to make a small sweetness adjustment themselves without having to go back and ask the staff. Its a coffee house…read more They have coffee. No thrills except for one key point. It is not Tim Horton's. Tim Horton's is the other place to get coffee on that part of the UBC campus. Tim Horton's is a once legendary chain that has been dragged down in the dust by the same people who own Burger King and Firehouse Subs. Burger King used to be good too. Popeyes is the only chain owned by Restaurant Brands International that has maintained its integrity. If you don't want to drink swill pretending it is a Canadian legend, Get your coffee from Great Dane instead.
