But, upon opening the door and making our way to the dining area it was much better. Clearly this used to be a BIG operation back in the day, but now looks like it is mostly for take out or quick meals. The dining area and kitchen were all bright and clean. The man behind the counter was very friendly and was happy to sell us a couple of falafel on the side. He custom makes each wrap and plate for the guest which is great. You can see the meat on the spits as well as all of the fresh veg and sauces. He takes his time to build it just right for us which was really nice. Good menu options, I would have liked to try more. We really enjoyed our mixed wrap. He was kind enough to put the hot sauce on one half and not the other. Both were great. The falafel was quite dry, and the sauce didn't really help much. Good flavor. Overall it is a solid option, I'd get it again in a pinch, but the meats and falafel were quite dry. Service was great, everything was fresh and it was a great stop for us.

I got a half chicken mandi ($15.95) and an oat soup ($3.95) for my husband and I to share. Overall the food was good, but I felt the chicken itself lacked seasoning. It was my second time having Yemeni food, but my husband's first time. I had chicken mandi before but it was my first time having oat soup. The chicken was so tender. It fell off the bone easily. It was moist and juicy too. I loved the texture. I just found it a bit lacking in seasoning. The rice was delicious. So soft and fluffy. It had sliced almonds, raisins and fried shallots/onions. I would have liked more of these toppings, lol. The oat soup was a bit too oily for my tastes and it had a floral taste to it that I am not used to. I am glad I tried it though as I love trying different dishes from different cuisines. Service was courteous and quick. I did not have to wait long at all for my meal. The restaurant is fairly small. There are a few seats to eat in but it's mostly a takeout joint. It's in a strip mall with free parking.

The Long Version: Namche Kitchen just opened on February 16, 2026, so they were still in their soft opening when I visited and luckily for me, they were offering 10% off all dishes during this soft opening. I was surprised to see they serve an unusual mix of cuisines: Lebanese shawarma, Nepalese Momos and Italian pizza. So Canadian, lol. I rejoiced. I got the steamed chicken momos, which are regularly $14.99 but I got 10% off. I got 10 plump dumplings and they were filled with juicy and flavourful ground chicken with spices. The dumpling skin was perfect. The right amount of chewy and not too thick but not too thin as to rip when you pick them up. They came with 2 dipping sauces, a red spicy chilli one which I didn't care for, but I really enjoyed the rich and nutty yellow/orange sauce. It was the perfect snack. Service was friendly and welcoming. Decor is casual. Namche Kitchen is where Fire Shawarma used to be and before that it was Emperor Shawarma and before that it was a vegetarian restaurant called The Table for quite a while. The last 2 shawarma places were relatively short-lived, but since Namche Kitchen offers more than just shawarma, I hope they stick around. They also sell Hakka noodles. Salang Kabob House has been on my list of places to try for some time now, so I was thrilled when I saw that they had a BOGO (buy one get one free) special on UberEats. It was $19.99 BOGO for a Mixed Shami Platter. So this is what I got. Each platter came with a ground chicken kabob, a ground beef kabob, rice, salad and naan. It was a lot of food and a great deal. I enjoyed the chicken shami, but I found the beef shami a bit gamey. The kabobs had a good flavour to them. The rice was soft and fluffy and nicely seasoned, but a little bit oily for my tastes. The salad was iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and red onions. Vegetables were fresh and crisp. The salad came with a spicy red sauce, which I liked, and a creamy dressing, which I didn't use. The naan was tasty and I appreciated that it didn't have pesky sesame seeds sprinkled on it like some other places. I ordered for pickup and the food was ready in about 15-20 minutes. Pickup was quick and efficient. The restaurant has lots of seating inside. There's free parking available in front of the restaurant. The parking is shared with neighbouring businesses. (102)

The salad is not gargantuous, but big enough, and tasty too and contains lettuce, a couple of slices of wedgie tomatos, a couple of black olives with pits still in them, feta cheese, and onions. The chicken souvlaki I had was very tasty and I LOVED the tzatziki! There was plenty of rice, and a couple of potato halves. This meal is filling enough and comes to about $11 per person. Bonus: You save the nearly $2 delivery charge by picking up the order yourself. They do have a few tables for 2 or 4 people if you did want to eat in, but mainly their biggest business is their take out service/delivery. Pickles and pickled turnips were nice, wish they gave more, but I am sure if you ask, they would not mind. Dressing was your usual lemon, olive oil dressing and it was nice and tangy.
