We were happy that we did decide to give this place a try, as it was everything that we had expected, and more! When we walked-in, we were greeted by a young man, that asked if we wanted take-out or dine-in. We chose dine-in however, the restaurant was quite busy at the time so, we had to be seated at a table near the front entrance. Upon sitting, we noticed the iPad that was on the table for ordering. We were also given paper menus to look at, which was easier. Once we had placed our orders, we waited only about ten minutes for our salads to arrive, along with the hummus and pita bread. The salads were absolutely amazing; the bowls were filled to the brim with cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, olives, and feta cheese. All of the ingredients were fresh and tasty, and that dressing, WOW; it was delicious! It tied the salad in so well, it was the best salad we had ever tried at a Greek restaurant. The hummus was also delicious, with heated-up pita bread creating the finishing touches. This hummus was definitely homemade, and marvellous! We even asked for an additional pita, as the one we had wasn't enough for the four of us. This appetizer was definitely a great start! Once our main meals arrived, we were pleasantly surprised at how large the portions were. And the homemade sauce on top of the rice was wonderful; I don't know how they made the sauce, but it was perfect with the rice. The chicken was tender, with the tzatziki sauce not being needed often due to the tenderness. The potatoes were huge, and deliciously spiced. The meal was massive, and we couldn't finish it all; definitely worth what we had paid for! Throughout the entire meal, the server checked on us, bringing us water when we had asked, and making sure we were well taken care of. As we were leaving, the owner/chef asked where we were visiting from, and if we enjoyed the food. This place was hands-down the best Greek restaurant that we've ever been to; down to earth family-owned, amazing food, and great hospitality. Will definitely be back, and would recommend that you all try it as well; you won't be disappointed!

It's located in a small strip and sometimes it takes time to find parking but not bad at all. The food is really good and fresh... You can feel the flavor of the marination and cook in the grill. The plate that I would go back for?.... The pork souvlaki and the excelent garlicky hummus. The service is super friendly and the chef will always ask if everything was as a good as we expected. The atmosphere is simple but practical and confortable. I've been here 3 times and I think I will go back everytime I come back to Ottawa.

I like that you can specify meat doneness, since I like my lamb medium rare. The platter comes with rice, potatoes, Greek salad, tzatziki sauce and pita bread. I always order an additional tzatziki sauce and another pita bread because they're very good and make perfect leftovers for lunch the next day. Everything about the Lamb Souvlaki Platter is perfect in my opinion and I especially love their potatoes. They are always crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! They pack the included pita right on top of the souvlaki and potatoes in the same container and I love the flavour the pita absorbs from them. You need to try this platter if you haven't before. I keep taking out-of-town family here for Greek food because it's worth experiencing. Something also worth mentioning is that Cozmos has a good online ordering system that makes it super easy to order ahead and pick up at a specific time. I recommend ordering online to save the time you would otherwise spend waiting after ordering in person, as they are often pretty busy.

I am a sucker for create your own bowls filled with veggies and sauces. I looked over the menu beforehand and had an idea of what I wanted. My husband was not too familiar with this place, so he just followed my lead. We were both greeted right away when we walked into the very clean restaurant. Service was friendly, and the staff was super patient and walked us through everything. We both settled on the grain bowl. I topped mine with tzaziki, spicy harissa, shredded lettuce, red cabbage, red beet quinoa, pickled peppers, pickled onion and tomato and cucumbers. I got the vegan option for protein which is the zucchini fritters, and topped it all off with lemon tahini thyme dressing. I also got a side pita and a vegan granola ball for the kid. I found the bowl OK. It was very pretty, but I am not sure if I did my best creating it. It was missing some acidity and nothing really stood out. I would skip the spicy harissa next time as I was not a fan of it. I also did not like the zucchini fritters, which I was so looking forward to trying. On a positive note, the red beet quinoa was amazing. My hubby had the same thoughts about his bowl and was not wow'd. The star of the show was that pita. It was fresh and chewy. I think next time I go, I will try out a wrap.

I still remember when I discovered the original PiRho Grill down in Barrhaven 4 years ago. I…read moreabsolutely loved it. The whole "salad/grain bowl movement" was new to Ottawa and the Mediterranean flair of PiRho Grill reeled me in. I spoke with Tom, one of the owners, and even back then he was thinking of opening up multiple locations. I urged him to open one in Westboro, but it hasn't happened yet (Tom, if you're reading this, please think about it, the only salad place I have in my 'hood is Freshii, of which I am not a fan. I don't like tasteless and spongy chicken, please help me out! Lol). Anyway, they opened up the location downtown on Elgin next, then this one on Hazeldean in Kanata. Maybe it's because the Barrhaven location was where I had my first taste of PiRho Grill and thus has a special place in my heart, but I found the food not as flavourful at this Kanata location. It's still really good, and in my opinion so much better than the national chains of salad places, just not as good as the Barrhaven location ;) I had the salad bowl ($12.25) and chose a mix of all the greens. For my dips I got the eggplant one and the red pepper hummus. For my protein I got half chicken and half baked zucchini cakes (so I got 1 cake). For toppings I got cucumber and tomato salad, roasted beet quinoa, red cabbage and crumbled feta. I was really tempted to get the pita crisps because they are really good, but I'm trying to limit my carbs and reduce my gluten intake, albeit to the chagrin of my taste buds. For the dressing, I got it on the side and I got the yogurt dill, which tastes a little like tzatziki. Service was friendly and efficient. During this Covid-19 Pandemic staff were wearing masks. We were in Stage 3 of re-openings so indoor dining was allowed and their indoor dining space was open. They also have patio seating. I took my food to go and did my favourite thing: ate in my car! Yep, the secret's out, I love eating alone in my car parked in a parking lot or on the street. I did this long before the Pandemic, I just appear less weird doing it now! If I really like ya, I'll invite you to eat in my car with me, but this invitation has been extended to very few people (and now with the Pandemic even less people, lol). Alright, enough about me and my idiosyncrasies, back to the restaurant... So the restaurant is in a plaza with lots of free parking. It's in the same plaza as Chocolats Favoris, Starbucks, and Farm Boy. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Kanata and like salad or grain bowls. They have wraps as well!

The Long Version: I was working off-site and was looking for a new place to try for lunch and I found Greek Village Souvlaki. I had the Chicken Souvlaki in a pita ($13) and it was the best chicken souvlaki pita I've ever had! I did ask for no onions, I added lettuce and asked them to go light on the tzatziki and this was perfect for me. They add fries inside the pita! The cubes of chicken breast meat were flavourful and plentiful. The tomato slices and the shredded lettuce were fresh and the pita was soft and fluffy. I don't like my sandwiches too wet or saucy so light on the tzatziki was perfect for me, but others might have found it too dry this way. The restaurant is nicely decorated with lots of blue and white, I'm guessing since those are the colours of the Greek flag. There are tables to dine in. Service was courteous and welcoming. The food did take a while to be ready, but the wait was worth it. Lots of free parking in the strip mall parking lot. Review #171 (2025)

My husband got the Saffron Seafood Ravioli ($31.95). Our friends got the Moussaka ($25.75) and Chicken Souvlaki. The Chicken Souvlaki plate was great. The chicken was moist, tender and flavourful. I appreciated that the skewer was already removed so I didn't have to fumble with it. The rice was soft and fluffy. The potatoes were well seasoned and tasty. They weren't mealy at all. The vegetables were nicely cooked. They consisted of bell peppers, broccoli, carrots and zucchini. The tzatziki was really thick. It was a bit stronger and funkier smelling than I'm used to though, lol. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal (minus the tzatziki) and was stuffed silly afterwards. My husband also really enjoyed his meal, but was still hungry afterwards since his dish consisted of only 5 ravioli. Each ravioli was about 2 bites, so he was done in 10 bites, lol. He said it was very tasty and he enjoyed the rich creamy sauce. In retrospect, I probably should have given my husband some of my meal, hehe. Our friends also enjoyed their meals. We sat on the patio and it was great, as it was covered and provided shade on a hot day. The tables are not too close to each other, which I appreciated. With the exception of when a car drove by with music blaring, I almost forgot that I was eating under a tent in the parking lot in front of the restaurant ;) Service was attentive without being intrusive. They do have a 2 hour dining limit, which we were advised of when we made our reservations. We left before our limit on our own, so they didn't have to enforce it with us, lol. Overall, a great place for Greek food. Lots of free parking in the strip mall parking lot.
