For the area I will give this place three stars but compared to other similar places I've been in other places I found it more like a two star. So they do Hot Pot for lunch and then for dinner they offer Korean BBQ. They have a self serve buffet for the Hot Pot but I've never seen how they do the dinner service. My mother and my sister's kids seem to be big fans of this joint. To me it just isn't a good value as I'm not going to eat enough of the Hot Pot buffet to make it worth my while. I thought my experiences I've had other at Hot Pot places was a lot better but the whole Hot Pot thing ultimately doesn't really appeal to me and I would rather just have a nice bowl of Pho instead. I do like Korean BBQ but again that is something I only want very rarely and I maybe just occasionally eat that every several years while on average I'm happier with one bowl of Pho or some regular Chinese or Korean food without the all you can eat option. read more

Finally, a Korean hot pot and Korean barbecue Hattiesburg. I was impressed with the size and the interior design of the restaurant. It was clean, organized, great lighting, modern, and large. They had a good variety of hot food, Korean barbecue items, hot pot items. In a perfect world I wish it was Korean hot food items instead but surprisingly the items are better quality than the local Chinese buffet. I wasn't a huge fan of the kbbq but that's what you got for being in the area. I definitely enjoyed it and would come back! read more

FABULOUS RESTAURANT!! Great ambience. Clean, well laid out, comfortable atmosphere. I have a food allergy and was a little uncertain about going there because it's a Korean barbecue place and Abbi made absolutely certain that the managers and the chefs all knew that I had an allergy and I had no issues whatsoever. She also suggested one of the sauces that is there for the hot pot (I did only the hot pot, not the BBQ) and it was delicious. She was even nice enough to write down the general ingredients just not the measurements so I'm going to have to play with that because it was one of the best sauces I have ever had. My husband and our friend did the barbecue and they loved it. They did a variety of sauces including the one that Abbi suggested. Madison was our server and she was so friendly and attentive to us; she also made certain that I was aware that she was aware of my food allergy and made certain to find out what I could or couldn't eat (they have spring rolls and dumplings and other things too). Great Hot Pot. You get an individual hot pot instead of a shared one for the table. The choice of broths was good. You collect your ingredients buffet style from two exceptionally long tables with hundreds of options. Four main meats: Beef, Lamb, Pork and Chicken. Many seafood options and a great selection of vegetables and noodles. There is a sauce station for mixing your own dipping sauces with 24 options. The only criticism I have was the host was a bit curt and short with us. We arrived at 3pm and dinner service starts at 4pm. She told us we wouldn't be able to have our 2 hour experience because of the time we arrived. We would have to leave before dinner service. This wasn't a problem for us. She then kept interrupting me saying we couldn't be seated until our whole party arrived. (It was only 2 of us and we were there) I guess the stress of opening day the day before and a large number of customers not having been to a hot pot restaurant before and needing explanation was trying. My family visited from Chicago last weekend, and we finally tried HaePot. We had a group of seven and, even though they don't take reservations, the staff seated us quickly and even set up two back-to-back tables for us. The place was clean, comfortable, and the music made us feel right at home. We ordered the Hot Pot + BBQ combo ($34.99). Everything was fresh, with plenty of veggies, and the bulgogi and short ribs were especially delicious. Our server, Karen, was fantastic--patient, friendly, and she showed me how to make sauces at the sauce bar, which was such a fun experience. And noise level is a little high. 29.00 for hot pot. Plus 5 for bbq. Everyone has to choose hot pot only. Or bbq only or both. Your party has to be seated at the same time. And you have 2 hours. You can have refills for free of broth unless you want it change flavors for an extra charge of 5 dollars. Ask for new parchment paper if needed for allergen contamination. "Unfinished food will be charged $13.99/lb to help reduce waste" So in other words, if they put something out there, that looks good but taste horrible and you decide you do not want to finish it then they're going to charge you for it. This was a first time visit to a HAE pot! It's a buffet filled with soooo many healthy options to throw in a hot pot at your table ! You pick it up and cook it at your table.... the hostesss made this easy to understand . This is a great new food option for Hattiesburg, healthy choices here if you want! Try something new ! The assortment of meats is slim and the prices are high. Rice was not offered but was made available after asking. There were very few traditional Korean sides - no kimchi cucumbers, no garlic or onion for the grill, no radish, no squash, no soybean paste, no onion salad...not truly a Korean bbq but could be a nice experience if you just want to try it once. read more

I think Hot Pot/KBBQ is my all time favorite and so I've been to a lot of them and try it any time I'm somewhere that has one, so I was really excited to try this place. Overall- a good experience- but I do have some notes on how it could be even better: 1. Hot Pot: The broths were so good, I really enjoyed the Mala and Chicken, the only thing I would have really liked though would have been if there were dumplings for the pot, smaller cuts on the inclusions so they cook evenly, and sesame paste for sauces 2. The barbecue :( I may have gone on a bad night, and it is very new, but I was pretty disappointed in the grill. There weren't many meats and no chicken or beef bulgogi when I went, there were some small cuts of beef, but they weren't very easy to eat and mostly bone... shabu shabu in Nashville had me spoiled for incredible options though, I think if the owners were ever in town, they'd really benefit from visiting Shabu Shabu for ideas. Maybe in the future there will be more. 3. SANITATION- buffets are notoriously full of germs, but when almost everything is raw it's REALLY easy to cross contaminate things. I didn't really like the meat and vegetables being so close, and the total buffet style of everything, but if things had more covers, were kept a little colder and sanitizer was offered, it'd make things a little better Overall I'm excited that this place is in Hattiesburg! I've eaten Korean BBQ for 40 years at restaurants throughout the United States, and I've never experienced anything like this restaurant. And that's not a compliment. The meats are self serve and, oddly, mostly seafood. They had short ribs, galbi, but it was an odd cut and the meat was flavorless, tough, and inedible. There was no bulgogi, at least nothing recognizable as bulgogi. There was a thinker cut beef, unmarinated, and tasteless. The kimchi was good, but there were none of the delicious banchan side dishes one expects with Korean bbq. And the service was horrible. Our waitress turned on the grill and did not reappear until she brought the check. She never cleared the hot pot utensils we did not need and did not bring us knives or scissors for the meat. 1. Dirty. We had to sort through the plates untill we found ones clean enough to eat on and our pork broth soup tasted like tap water, not to mention the tables and counters were also not clean. 2. Service The service was ehh, our waitress basically told us " figure it out" when we asked about the process and how it worked at this restaurant ,but I have a shellfish allergy and they were helpful in showing me what to avoid and what areas were sorta safe. 3. Atmosphere The music was incredibly loud for it to be a sit down restaurant and everyone working there looked miserable, and it was expensive for the experience. If you're looking for a good hot pot I'd say maybe try the Korean bbq dinner (which is ONLY available for dinner and is more expensive on the weekends) otherwise maybe try somewhere else :( read more

We, a family of 3, went to Hae a couple months ago. It was delicious. The variety of ingredients for your hot pot and just a item to eat as is. Looking forward to our next visit on Thanksgiving week. This is comfort food for sure. My very picky husband was very happy with his meal. We also got the Korean Barbeque, but the hot pot was my very favorite. The Golden Chicken Collegian soup was what I got to make my soup. So very good! I hope this restaurant is around for many, many years. read more

Had a 20 minute wait on a Monday night to sit a group of 4. Not bad for a brand new resturant. The food bar was ginormous with almost anything you could imagine. Sushi and cooked food was very good. We tried the hotpot on Saturday, the good news first, everything was great once we got a hold on what to do. The bad news was that we decided not to do the BBQ because it was 5 dollars extra, the hot pot costs 29.99 on the weekend. I will probably go back later on and try it and I just can't justify spending that much money on one meal. Sat in the waiting area forever as the teenager that was running the front let people in randomly. They had no wait list or order, despite advertising one. When asked about the waitlist by numerous people, an older woman came out and started mocking the crowd of people because "everyone complained about the wait list and now you get what you get". The service is fine. Our server was nice and helpful. The food on the other hand... We had the KBBQ. It was appalling. Why do we have to cook on top of the parchment paper? The whole point of Kbbq is to use the grill to get that bbq taste. I understand that the establishment wants an easier job of cleaning the grills using the parchment paper, but I feel like it was lazy. This reduces the quality and experience by a mile. We were not expecting a 5 star restaurant, but the little things matters. We had plentiful experiences eating at Kbbq, but this one takes the cake in a bad way. This was disappointing :( read more

HAE pot is a new restaurant that features hot pot and Korean barbecue. I went with a party of four. The first complaint I have is no wait list, the hostess had no idea in what order the customers had come in, and seemed to be at a loss how to seat customers. This was not a good first impression. However, eventually we were seated, and the waiter explained the different broths. The menu featured an impressive list of broths, but no other description other than the broth would either contain beef, chicken or pork. Also, no prices, more about that later. The food was okay, not especially flavorful or impressive other than you cooked it yourself. There were octopus, marinated meats and vegetables, a little more than what you would expect at a Chinese buffet. Then, we got the bills. We all experienced sticker shock as the adult buffet sets you back $35 a piece . Now, I have been to some outstanding restaurants, that more than justified a high price, this was not that. It's okay, but it could use some tips from other Korean barbecue restaurants. Not super impressed. read more

Food is good. Nothing out of this world. What got me out of place was the costumer service. The manager or owner was a lady who was very stale and rude the entire time. Whenever my fiancé did not eat his last piece of jumbo shrimp and we had to pay she came to the register yelling in her language and we were so confused... then she said that we have been there before and we should know the rules of the restaurant already... then she proceeded to say that she would charge us by the pound next time. $14 a pound exactly. This is not a true Korean BBQ restaurant. There is no Bulgogi, Kalbi, Galbi or any true Korean marinated meats. They do have hot pot but the base and sauces are bland. If you are true Korean BBQ fan do not come here. This is a glorified Chinese restaurant. The wait is long and the hostess tries to make two top table share tables to sit 6. Let's start with the positives... The hostess is by far the friendliest we've encountered in a Hattiesburg restaurant. The staff were all hustling, accommodating and friendly. Everything on the buffet looked fresh. Now for the not so positive... my family and I are not Korean(that could be a negative - we Love Korea) but we lived there for three years. We ate A LOT of Korean food in that time and I think we have a palate for the cuisine. We'd give this a solid C+ maybe a B- because they were so nice. Everything! The woman who sat us spent some time with us explaining how things worked, she even walked us down the line explaining things to us and making recommendations! Back at the table we said we will do BBQ this time and hot pot next time. Food was great and very fresh, whole place was spotless! The website says "no reservations" and yet you have to make a reservation -- as they call it, a wait list, which can be done on their website. Didn't even get a chance to do that as once the reserved spots are taken, they stop taking customers. Hae pot the food repelling if I am being completely transparent. The service was decent, but I will say as soon as I walked in I was given multiple glares for whatever reason. Great atmosphere. Everything was very clean. We arrived 15 mins early because we wanted to make sure we could get a good table for our son - in - laws birthday. We told the hostess we had a party of 4... my husband and I were then seated. We ordered our drinks while we were waiting on the rest of our party to get to arrive. After about 5mins one of the female waitresses asked us when our party would arrive, we explained to her they would be there shortly. We were then asked another 4 times, and she proceeded to tell us we were not supposed to be seated due to the fact that our entire party had not arrived, and that they had a 2-hour dinning time. We had finally had enough. She was extremely rude, and we were only there maybe 10 mins. We paid for our drinks and left. We will not be back. Needless to say, we spent our $275.00 dollars at a local steakhouse, and $ 36.00 of that was our sweet waitress's tip! Kindness goes a long way!!! read more
