Great fresh meats and always awesome service. The ppl that work there are friendly and quite helpful. I walk with a cane and whenever we shop there, checkers always offer to carry our bags to the car. Very helpful. We'll be back!!! read more

Since they took down my most recent review I'll repost my issue. Bought prime rib for new years and $70 in and it was absolutely the toughest thing ever. Cooked it exactly as I had for the past decade. Went in to discuss and the reply was basically that it happens. Well it never happened when it was the owners of Haen Meats!!! I sent a letter earlier this spring when having my pig butchered. The previous year I had venison sticks made along with my trimmings of my pig meat and got a charge of $20 for storage fee. I never heard back from them and I wanted to keep this between myself and management. Now it's July and still no word. I talked to a lady behind the register when paying for the bill this year and she said I need to talk to a manager. I just thought something would have happened but nothing, Oh well! Otherwise Haen's or the new name is great with their showcase of meat! read more

Textbook case of how to ruin a successful quality business. The new poorly packaged vacuum sealed wrap is no where near as nice for stacking as the freezer paper packaged meat that Haen's had. Excess plastic on all sides takes up critical space in a freezer and causes packages to not stack properly and fall over. The new owners apparently don't cook or have a freezer. If they did, they would know how important proper packaging is when storing meat in a freezer. You need to examine the process and make improvements on this. The quality cut of the meat is still there, thankfully. Quality packaging is part of being better than your competition. Disappointed long time customer. read more

Don't bring your cow here to butcher. Don't get all your meat.Phil/Becky/DeanNever called me back with resolution from November 14. 2023 Had an issue with quality of processing /packing beef and how it was handled. Spent $1300 never will recommend Butcher Block meats would have given a zero star if it was an option. Haen meat was 5 star in 2021 now it's just a name used to ride on past reputation. Poor customer service and they don't made it a priority to make things right. read more

Haen Meat was bought out by the Meat Block in Greenville. Since this purchase, the quality and integrity of this business has been systematically destroyed. Many products are still sold as Haen's original recipes, but have actually been substituted with substandard recipes with zero notice to the consumer. In-house cleaning crews have been subbed out for a contracted cleaning service. Employees are actively high while on duty when they're prepping food products and serving customers. Owners want to actively stamp out the "Haen Meat mentality" and the standards of Haen Meat, which is evident by the swaps in packaging, employees, and quality of products. The Meat Block has ruined an esteemed Kaukauna institution. Take your business elsewhere. read more

In 2021 was my first experience with Haen meats I got an entire cow butchered and the experience and product quality was a 5 star. so this past month we went back to them for a second time and another full beef to be processed. I did get a call to pick it up and headed down from Denmark which is about 45 minutes away. They were busy when I arrived and waa able to pay for processing at register then told to go outside and wait. No one outside by delivery doors would acknowledge me. After 15 minutes I asked a forklift driver if he could help? Within five minutes they were rolling the package beef out to my truck. As we had mainly hamburger made, they started to load it into my truck into boxes and pieces of hamburger were falling all over the tailgate of my truck. The cow was about 1057 pounds so it was a considerable amount of hamburger when I asked the gentleman loading up, why is there so much raw hamburger on the outside tubes of the hamburgers and on the end bells pinched in the end metal bands of the 2 1/2 pound sticks he said, he would talk to his manager Becky, and proceeded to take some pictures . After my truck was loaded up, I waited for the manager to come and talk to me, but nobody came. He said she was too busy at this point and would bring the concern to her when I arrived home we spent the next 2 1/2 hours cleaning hamburger out of the end of the tube sticks. There was so much excess hamburger after cleaning them we could almost fill 1/2 of a Cool Whip container. Being that we never experienced this before, and still had a few leftover sticks of hamburger from previous. We looked at those and found that they were clean it seemed like their machine was out of Calibration. I would guess to say we had 300 sticks of hamburger and it was quite the mess. I even had to go to a local car wash and use the self served clean the hamburger that had embedded in my tailgate bed off of the truck. I did contact Haen meat and explain to them how unhappy we were with the experience . The manager of the shop told me that he is not in charge of the butchering, which is Becky's job and they would get back to me. I did take a call from another employee not Becky at their shop and he explained to me that this is all normal and good , When I explain to him the above, he made excuses and told me that just sometimes happens when I asked why I had so few steaks I was told the cow was bigger so that means the steaks are bigger and does not mean that you get more steaks. I have not been contacted since last week when I picked it up so I do believe this is not a priority, nor is it, any type of experience I would want anyone else to have . When they asked me what they could do to resolve the issue I said first and foremost they should get their machines checked to make sure that they are working correctly because this is not normal and secondly since I had a $1400 processing bill that they should credit part of it back since we spent about 2 1/2 hours, cleaning the end bells of each of the tubes of hamburger and washing each plastic tube off from the raw hamburger . I also mentioned that I felt this was not sanitary and wondered if they were being inspected anymore or if this is a second rate backyard butchering shop It pretty much was a null-conversation, and I have not heard back from them. It is pretty sad when you go from a five star to a one star in the fact that I did have a comparison and sent them pictures of the previous butchering as we had a few sticks left to show them that this is not ok and to be ignored. I hope someone reads this review and chooses a different butcher shop to bring their cow to Haen meat was five star but as far as the new butcher block takeover, I am very disappointed! I did send a message back, letting them know that evidently this is not a priority, I guess collecting the bill is the most important and what outside kind of blows away in the wind! DO NOT go there. i placed my venison hot dog in rhe microwave on a safe plate and it lite up like metal was in it. Called them and they said bring the meat back in. Why so they can say it's fine. Are you kidding me? i will put all 45 lbs in the microwave and i will count each item that lights up and will up date this website. That means METAL in the meat. i will NEVER be back. I had my venison processed here and they do an excellent job with providing me with great service, a variety of choices for my end product, and cleanliness. I ordered the venison/ beef brats and salami and have always been pleased. They have a new building with a huge retail space for giving the customer more than enough selections. My only complaint is they no longer have the number system so customers can keep track who is next inline to be waited on so you may be inconvenienced by other customers who arrive after you but they are given service before you which can be frustrating. The old system was more customer friendly. read more

Writing the review for Haen Meat Packing will be one of the greatest honors in my life. Haen's is hands down the best meat purveyor I've ever had--and that's including the state of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and New Jersey. I have never had a bad meat product from here--all of it is top-notch quality. Their summer sausage is nationally ranked for good reason; I hate the stuff usually, but I will gobble it down if I know it's from this place. I'm also a huge fan of the pork bratwurst patties (I don't have a grill so this makes it so much easier for me), ground beef patties, chicken sticklers (any flavor), and the bacon. I'll say this about their bacon: I can never enjoy or even bother with any other kind of bacon now. Haen's is just too good. My father has brought in a few pieces of game or fish that they did a marvelous job of cutting up and smoking for him. The prices are a little high, but they do such a great job and it's quite labor-intensive--so I completely understand. The service is worth mentioning for how magnificent it is, especially for such a busy place. You take a number and one of the smiling staff members is always ready to help. *This* is how you run a business in the Fox Valley. I have honestly no complaints or anything negative to say about Haen's. This is one of the few things I really, really look forward to when I come back home. read more

I have been buying meat at Haen Meats for many years. However, I would not recommend buying a fresh turkey there. My first experience with "fresh" was ice in the turkey cavity (of which I was told that they have no control over how it is shipped). My second experience with "fresh" was unflavorful and dry. I asked for the turkey to be cut up like a chicken. What I recognized as turkey was 2 wings, 2 legs, and some "other" parts - not sure how it was cut up. I also did not receive any giblets, liver or heart, in spite of the fact I was told they were in there. All was wrapped in styrofoam - Yuk. I have had good experiences with other meats, but will never buy a turkey there again. read more

I was really excited to try some of haens meats. It's been 6 years or so since I was last in. I guess it was my mistake to go on a Saturday morning before the holidays. It was like being a six flags great America. People every where. They must have had 30 workers working too. I went in to get some frozen goods so beef sticks, sausage, brats, patties, etc. All frozen goods. One would think you wouldn't need a counter number since not being any fresh meat. I waited in line for approx 10 to 15 mins until I turned to someone behind me who also didn't know you needed a number. Finally 1 of the 30 people working said you need a number. Seriously can't just complete my sale?! Everyone who worked there seemed more excited to see old friends and family to shoot the breeze as well. Very annoying. Sorry I am not a friend or family member. I'll find some other meat shops to try. No big deal besides time wasted. I just don't want to see anyone else's time wasted so go elsewhere. We love Haen's and make it a point to get our special occasion foods from such an awesome family-owned business. We particularly love the chicken caprese, twice-baked potatoes, and shredded pork and beef. My mouth waters just thinking of their beef tenderloins and we especially love grilling their sirloin patties. We also use their Haen House Blend seasoning that is also our favorite. I wish I could keep this gem a secret, but it is too good not to share! read more

Best Butcher in town!! Steak, brats, ground beef and breakfast sausage are out of this world! Looking forward to trying other cuts of meat in the future. If I could change one thing, I wish they'd have better hours (open later in the evenings and Saturdays and open on Sundays). read more
