Came here with family for dinner before a concert and left with pretty mixed feelings. The restaurant wasn't very busy, and we were seated immediately. We chose the patio, which ended up being one of the highlights of the visit. It was clean, comfortable, and well shaded, with a few yard games available that gave the space a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Service started off decent but unfortunately declined as the evening went on. Food took an unusually long time to come out, and to the server's credit, she recognized the delay before we even brought it up. She apologized and mentioned that a manager would be stopping by to speak with us. Unfortunately, that never happened, and service continued to deteriorate from there. We started with the nachos and cheese curds. The cheese curds were actually quite good. Crispy, flavorful, and probably one of the stronger items we had. The nachos were decent, though nothing particularly memorable. As for the BBQ, it was unfortunately pretty underwhelming. Especially considering BBQ pricing tends to come with expectations around quality and portion value. The ribs were the biggest disappointment. They were so dry they were nearly inedible, with meat crumbling apart from being overcooked. No amount of sauce could bring them back. The jalapeño cheddar sausage had a good texture, but flavor wise it was just okay and leaned overly salty without much depth. My side salad was forgotten entirely, and the cornbread, while having decent flavor, was very dry. The burnt ends also missed the mark. Rather than having the bark and caramelized texture you typically expect, they appeared to be stewed in BBQ sauce, leaving them mushy and overly sauced instead of smoky and textured. One bright spot was the BBQ sauce selection. There were several options, and they were tasty with enough variety to complement different meats. Overall, this feels like a place with good potential and a really pleasant setup, particularly the patio. I'm not sure if we caught them on an off night, but between the slow service and inconsistent food execution, the experience didn't live up to expectations. That said, I'd consider giving it another try in the future because the foundation is there. read more

Picked up some food here on a Sat and although service seemed great the food was quite mid & overpriced. Here's what I got: Armadillo eggs: 4.2/10 - really disappointed in these, dry & flavorless coating, and not much flavor on the inside, brisket was bland and there was no flavor burst from biting in. Barely tasted the cream cheese. Came on a good bed of onion strings though. Sat Dino Rib: 7.3/10 -- Really cool they do these on Saturday's and although they look awesome you'd expect better fat rendering/melting for the time cook. Wasn't fall off the bone but decent tenderness. Flavor wise good pairing with their sauces but not really worth the price. Wings (nashville): 8.1/10 -- probably best thing they have, texture & size are great. Got some spicy garlic sauce on side, that flavor is probably the best. The nashville rub is also good but could have more flavor. Mac & Cheese: 7.6/10 -- creamy & solid but nothing out of ordinary for Wisco. Good mac. Coleslaw: 7.8/10 -- Good creamy texture, pretty good slaw, on the sweeter side. Sauces: 8.2/10 -- I really liked their sauces actually, spicy garlic, mustard & pjs were my favorite, made the whole experience a lot better. Their cayenne ranch is great too. Cornbread: 7.5/10 -- solid taste but a little too crumbly. One dino rib, 2 sides, 6 wings and armadillo eggs ran me $60. Even in most major cities I've gotten far better bang for my buck on BBQ. read more

The onion tangles are delicious and VERY big. By the time lunch came I had no room. But it looks delicious. Only issue I would say is that I was told I'd be charged $0.50 cents to bring home some bbq sauce because I didn't want to put it on and make the bun all soggy. WOW!!! The food here was awesome. We had the brisket sandwich with the loaded potato salad as a side. The meal came with a side of pickled onions and pickles. The whole meal was great and lots of gluten free options. Brisket was smokey and tender and the portions generous! We sat on the patio with our fur baby. Very nicely set up area with a corn hole playing area. Our server, Shannon L. Was so friendly and answered our questions about different menu options and even offered our fur baby a bowl of water . I ordered ahead and was given a pickup time of 11:40 AM. I arrived shortly before that time, but was told the order was still being "finished up." My food didn't come out until 12:03 PM, over 20 minutes past the promised time. By the time I returned to work, several items were only lukewarm. The wing order was especially disappointing--part of it had no sauce at all, while the other part was completely drenched. There doesn't seem to be any benefit to calling ahead if the order still isn't ready and the quality suffers this much. I've eaten at this particular location on three occasions. Once, I came away unimpressed; however, the last two visits have been pretty good. While I'd like to give a 3.5 star review, the big brains at Yelp still are holding tight to their full star rating scale. The restaurant gets an artificial bump as I will give 4 stars, versus 3 stars. If you've eaten at any of the Parker Johns locations, you'll notice the food is very consistent. I really enjoy all of their smoked meats and the side dishes are exceptional. On my last trip I had the two meat (andouille sausage and pulled pork). It was a generous helping of each meat and the sides are very filling (beans and the quinoa salad). What seems to differ at the locations is their staffing and bartending. I haven't been overly happy with the service at this location and the bartending has only been average. That said, Parker Johns make really good BBQ and pizza. This location or their others will offer you a wide range of items to choose from. Those meals will most likely satisfy you; the question is whether the staff will make your experience as good as the food. read more

Food was very good, the fried stuff would have been even better if cooked a little longer. We had onion straws, frickles, and garlic knots (absolutely amazing) for appetizers. For the main courses we had pulled pork sandwiches, fish and shrimp. My daughter loved her sandwich, my mother-in-law was middle of the road (maybe because she couldn't decide of the four sauces HaHa!), Fish and shrimp not bad but the fried longer comes back into place. Sides of coleslaw and Mac and Cheese, I felt were elevated compared to other places. Server was very sweet and kind, but not very aware of out needs and didn't check back much. The place smelled amazing when we walked in. My and I sat at the bar to have a few drinks. All of emplyees we're unhappy, stressed and impersonal, even the baretenders. There was on big guy with a beard that stood around doing nothing, so I assume he was the manager. This seems like a very toxic place to work. Needs new management in my opinion. read more

Had the appetizer special great deal on Tuesdays half off the potato skins were good the armadillo eggs were a lot smaller than expected the nachos were huge gave a decent twist on bbq nachos the beer cheese made it come together oddly. I was reimbursed for nearly the entire meal and was not asked to post a review updating my experience. But, this has changed my perspective and I feel the need to change the review rating. Ordered wings, a half rack, brisket, cucumber salad, and slaw.... Except for okay wings the rest was really not good. The ribs were thin and dry as the desert, certainly not St Louis cut as they had a large wad of brisket cartilage. The brisket was really really dry (not brought to 204 for sure), the cucumber salad tasted off so I didn't eat it. The house BBQ was like sweet and sour sauce.... Really nothing like Memphis or Carolina or Kansas City.. I can't think of anything to recommend it. read more

We tried to stop in for lunch. We have someone with a severe (airborne) allergy to peanuts. This restaurant has a sign on their front door that says "Peanut Friendly". For anyone familiar with food allergies, that would normally mean that it's safe for someone with an allergy to eat there. As it turns out, they have peanuts EVERYWHERE. All over every table. Most restaurants don't have open peanuts everywhere anymore due to allergy concerns anyway. Parker John is a private company and can serve peanuts if they want, but having the sign in the window that reads "peanut friendly" is simply irresponsible and DANGEROUS. For people with severe/airborne allergies, it isn't as simple as "don't eat it and you'll be fine". With the help of Benadryl and a steroid, we narrowly avoided a trip to the ER, but the next person might not be so lucky. Please consider removing this misleading sign before someone is truly hurt. read more

The good: the turkey was flavorful. The onion rings were very crispy. The wings were fantastic. I would 100% get the wings again. This may be my wing go to. The bad: the sauces were dirty which tells you they aren't wiped down. With Covid preparation being important I was highly disappointed by this. I want a clean, safe, and good experience. We just met up with a couple of long-time friends here on Saturday. We take turns visiting each other in our current hometowns for a meal and conversation. It is quite a hoot . My girlfriend and I love the BBQ at Parker John's, which we lovingly refer to as "Porker John's" on occasion. It is just a great place to eat. They offer a nice, relaxed, family atmosphere, with excellent food and amazingly friendly staff. The prices are really affordable and the serving sizes are just right. We always admire the pizzas served at other tables when we see them, but have never ordered a pizza ourselves, as we come for the BBQ. Well, this time my girlfriend got her own personal "Reuben" pizza just to try it out, the rest of us got BBQ. The BBQ was spot on as always, but Tammy REALLY insisted we try the pizza. I was too full, however, our friend tried it and was really impressed with the flavor. So much so m, that she had another piece even. Later that evening (as some of us do ) I heated some of that pizza up and tried it out. I didn't find the thought of sauerkraut on a pizza very appealing, but I gave it a shot. It was amazing! The flavor was absolutely stunning. So much so, that I ate the rest of the pizza. Oops.... Well, now I know why people order pizza at a BBQ place. Our sides were no call slaw, Baked beans, ham cut french fries, and a side salad with French and ranch dressing. The baked beans were fantastic. Some of the best baked beans I've had in a long time.
