My friend and I came to Subaru Park for the second time yesterday for a Philadelphia Union game…read more This time we were in Section 132 row DD which is near the top of the corner with the river and bridge behind us. Last time we were on the video board side also in the corner upper rows. Directly opposite of where we sat last night. Both areas had great views of the field and for the most part we were able to watch the game without issues. When people and their kids were constantly getting up to let others through or kids just bored talking loud, playing loud videos, or moving around the stands without parents being parents, then there were problems which were at times difficult to deal with. Another issue which I did not even think to consider is that where we were, and having the river behind us, is that there were numerous flies making things irritating. Parking is in numerous lots throughout the area and all are cashless, so buy your pass before and get the code emailed to you to be scanned by the attendants. Police are plentiful directing traffic before and after the game. Subaru Park holds 20,000. There's plenty of bathrooms, multiple food stands (average food at high prices), and if you don't mind 24/7 cheering, the Sons of Ben section almost next to us will make you wonder how many sore throats there are the day after games. Some sections have signage specifically stating that they are standing allowed sections. The Sons of Ben sections also have signs saying you can expect to stand the whole game. Overall, we had a great time and are 2-0 with Union wins both games we attended. When we come back again, we'll be shooting for the video board side for our seats. No flies, less kids, not as much noise from the Sons of Ben (sorry, everyone) and less windy! Go Union! Ba-ba-baba-ba-ba-ba-ba....Heeeeeeyyy You! For about 20 minutes straight....

I like that this stadium was designed for soccer matches rather than sharing with other sports. It's not overwhelming, easy to get to the vendors you want, the bathrooms are clean, no roof, and you can see everything happening on the pitch without looking up at the screen. The river/bridge is right behind one side with a nice view from behind the opposing team's supporter section. The parking lot can use some work but I'm sure that will come in time.

This is the new studio for Tango 411. I am only reviewing their 3rd Friday night ballroom dances…read more The dance floor is a good size, not huge, but not tiny either. It is in a beautiful ballroom on the second floor of an office building. Unfortunately due to a typo, I arrived too late to attend the free lesson at the beginning. However, I danced with the instructor, who was a very good leader and who knows what he is talking about. There were also a good number of other good leaders there. So far it is a small crowd, but I don't anticipate it staying this way with so many quality dancers attending. The music was good and the water was free. I also really appreciated their green approach in having glass cups that you could write on with a dry erase marker. Even more unfortunately than arriving late, I had to leave early, and so did not really get a chance to rate the food. However, I look forward to their next dance and giving a more complete update at that time. If I remember correctly, it is $12 to attend and the lessons go from 8-8:45 and the dancing goes from the end of lessons to midnight.

I visited Leslie C Quick Jr Stadium for the first time this past September when attending the…read moreGeneva College at Widener University football game. The event was enjoyable overall, and I appreciated getting to see and experience a new football venue. Leslie C Quick Jr Stadium is the outdoor stadium for Widener University Athletics. They host their home football, soccer, lacrosse, track and field events here, per the website. It is on the outer northern part of the University's Chester campus. As someone visiting the campus and field for the first time, this was a little tricky to get to. When you arrive, it seems like you are in a neighborhood. This will feel wrong, but it is the correct way to get to the field. Essentially, you will drive through the neighborhood back to the area where there is parking and pathways to make it to the stadium. On this day, there were staff helping to direct traffic and point attendees in the right direction. This was very helpful for me personally. There is not a ton of parking right near the entrance. It seems that during events, they park cars on both sides of the access road that leads to the stadium/runs on the backside of the Pride Recreation Center (per the website, this is called Quick Stadium Drive). We were directed to park in the grass, up a small hill, on the right side of E 17th Street, if you are driving back toward the Recreation Center. For the football games, parking costs $5, and is cash only. I would not mind paying for the parking closer to the field, but this seemed excessive considering we parked in a grass field. I personally had no issue with this parking arrangement in terms of location, but if you have someone with limited mobility this might be too far. I believe you would be able to drop off closer via the access road, if needed. From where we parked, it was around a 5-minute walk to the entrance. There was some tailgating going on either side of the access road that we saw on our way in. Once you approach the stadium, there are brick pillars identifying the entrance, a ticket booth, as well as various signage. Tickets were available for purchase via QR Code, or right at the booth. We opted to pay on-site, and it was $5 per person for the game. There were discounted Senior and Student tickets available. Children under 12 and Widener students get free admission. The only stadium entrance is on the backside of the home bleachers. Locker rooms are located underneath this set of bleachers, and a press box sits on top. The concession stand and restrooms are visible from the entrance point. The home side of seats is very large. On this particular day, it was nowhere near full. So, if you are from the visiting team, you could definitely find space if you did not want to venture all the way to the other side of the stadium. On the other hand, the away section is rather small. In order to access, you have to walk on the outer perimeter of the track, all the way around to the opposite side. A plus is that this side is surrounded by trees, so there will likely be shade at some point. There are no facilities on the away side, so you will have to walk back around to the home bleachers for restrooms and concessions. I know a lot of older stadiums are built in this regard, but as a fan this is a downside to the stadium and sitting on the visiting side. The stadium atmosphere was enjoyable. I was able to hear the PA clearly, and we had a nice view of the field. The scoreboard was easily visible from our seats. I enjoyed seeing the cannon, the marching band, and all of the game day traditions of the university. The concession stand was very average. I thought some of the items, such as the Cheese Nachos and Drinks, were rather expensive. There was a food truck that was accessible from within the stadium, which provided another option. I do understand this is a money maker for the school, but I wish that they were not charging $3 for water when it was 90+ degrees outside. Unfortunately, the game was paused in the second half due to inclement weather. I thought that the staff did a great job of keeping everyone informed, helping attendees exit safely, and overall monitoring for the situation. Kudos to them for a great response in this regard. Overall, this was a nice first visit to Leslie C Quick Jr Stadium at Widener University. I enjoyed exploring some of the campus, seeing the facilities, and partaking in the game day traditions of the school. It is an older stadium, so some of the facility aspects are going to be less than ideal, such as the distance of the parking lot and distance of the away bleachers from all amenities. Also, the concession pricing could be improved in some aspects. I would recommend visiting this collegiate stadium if you have the opportunity to do so. This was a nice setting for my first college football weekend of the 2025 season, and I am glad I decided to make the trip from Pittsburgh!

Sometimes they change the rotation between ice cleanings, extending life of the ice. On a holiday weekend, rental line was a bit crowded but let those, like me, with a pair of hockey skates of their own to enjoy the ice while it was a little less crowded. Wife has since then picked up a pair of her own skates to avoid the rental shuffle, gamble
