While the office states I left voluntarily and that consults take about an hour, my decision was based on the inconsistent and changing timing communicated by staff during the visit. The core issue here is not the length of a consultation, but the lack of clear, coordinated communication. I did receive a refund of my deposit, but patients should be given accurate expectations upfront, especially when arranging transportation. I scheduled a consultation with this office before I even moved to Alabama and paid the required $100 deposit. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and ended up being a complete waste of my time. The front desk staff were pleasant, and the initial part of the appointment went smoothly. I had photos taken and met with another staff member who was very kind and professional. However, after that, things quickly went downhill. Before arriving, I specifically asked when I should schedule my Uber home and was given a timeframe by the office. I planned accordingly. After waiting, I was then informed that it would be an additional 30-45 minutes before I could even see the doctor. Several staff members responded with comments such as, "I don't know who told you that," and made it clear that the wait time I had been given was incorrect. Rather than taking ownership of the miscommunication, I felt like I was being brushed off. What was most frustrating is that I never even got to see the physician despite arriving on time, completing all of the preliminary steps, and paying a deposit for the consultation. The lack of organization, poor communication, and unprofessional handling of the situation left a very negative impression. I understand that delays can happen in a medical office, but clear communication and accountability matter. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect the level of professionalism I would expect from a surgical practice.

Once payment is made and the contract is signed, I was informed that no refund would be issued, even in the presence of medical concerns. 2. When concerns regarding family medical history were later raised during my second meeting with Dr. Wilson (approximately two weeks prior to the scheduled surgery, and only my second consultation after the initial visit), I felt there was continued pressure to proceed with the surgery as planned. At one point, the clinic requested my father's medical history for verification, which I found unusual and concerning. 3. I was informed that I would forfeit 50% of the procedure fee (several thousand dollars), which I had already paid in advance, because I canceled the surgery approximately two weeks before the scheduled date--even though these medical concerns were actively being discussed with the physician at that time. 4. After raising these concerns, I was no longer able to communicate directly with Dr. Wilson through the office. 5. My interactions with the business manager were also extremely difficult and unprofessional, and I was unable to resolve my concerns in a constructive manner. I felt I was not given an opportunity to fully express or discuss my concerns. 6. Overall, I felt that the financial commitment and cancellation terms created significant pressure to proceed with surgery even when legitimate medical concerns were present, which left me deeply uncomfortable with the process. In conclusion, I believe that key terms and conditions, as well as potential risks associated with the procedure, were not adequately disclosed prior to payment. The financial penalties associated with cancellation created substantial pressure to proceed despite medical concerns. Based on my experience, I would advise others to exercise extreme caution and ensure full clarity of all medical, financial, and cancellation policies before engaging with this facility.

I bought the LivingSocial deal for Laser Hair Removal because it was such a deal ($100 for 6…read moretreatments in a small area, like underarms). Dr. Degraaff is great. When she first meets you she talks you through everything. She tells you how the laser works, what it will feel like, what you'll see in the weeks to come, etc. She has a great "bed side manner" and she seems to never be running behind schedule. If you're doing the laser hair removal you'll need to go back every 6 weeks for at least 6 treatments. The laser works best on dark hair and the area needs to be shaved prior to each treatment. The pain is not too bad, kinda feels like getting popped with a hot rubber band and it's really quick. I very rarely wait longer than 5 minutes in the waiting room, and once I'm back in an exam room I'm in and out in another 5 minutes. The staff here is great and when I complete my treatment I'll provide an update!

I am not the typical patient in that I am not having augmentation, liposuction or any of the other services this office provides. Dr. McLain went over a couple of options and explained the benefits and risks of each. I was given the opportunity to review the cost of the procedure and decide without pressure how I would like to proceed. I was out of his office within 30 minutes of arriving. Although the time was short, I was completely satisfied; so much that I made my appointment for my procedure that day. My next appointment was for my procedure. Again, I was greeted warmly by his staff who remembered me. As I was anxious, I was grateful that again that I waited a very short time to be taken for my procedure. The night of my procedure, I received a call from Dr. McLain from his personal cell for follow up. That truly impressed me and showed me his level of commitment to those in his care. I cannot stress enough how warm and welcoming Dr. McLain and his staff presented themselves to me. Having any surgical procedure is very stressful. Huntsville is now busting at the seams and not only has safety, traffic, over crowding issues become concerning the fact is there isn't enough parking spaces for the Breast Center at 910 Adams street. People in cars line up and block traffic which is one way in only, others stake out watching for patients coming out and fight to get their spot. It's ridiculous that I was forced to park about half a mile from the breast center and walk in close to 90 degree weather and am too old! I don't know if I can keep it up with my foot pain I experienced when I hiked that far to and from my car. It was so far I had to use my watch tracker to find out where I was and to find my car. Headlines could read "A senior citizen lost trying to find car while seeking help to get to BC appointment and then find her car in Huntsville, AL." I made it there but a bit late and the service Was very good and results reported fast from my visit. I know I am not the only one asking management (city?) to help with this parking/traffic dilemma! I miss "old" small town Huntsville as the new construction, mega apartments and sky bridge efforts push forward to bring in more overcrowding!
