The smaller playground was too babyish for my three year old so we decided to brave the older playground so he could play with big brother. He handled the slides like a pro, but I had to spot him on all of the climbing apparatuses. I was thankful to have their grandma my husband and on the playground with me because my toddlers were running around like feral animals and I had a difficult time keeping up with them constantly testing their limits on the playground equipment! There is plenty of parking along the playground as well as benches for the parents. This is a great spot for kids to burn off some energy before or after dinner! The paths to walk are parity paved and circle the park. On a few occasions I've seen people in different areas set up a volleyball net and play. So the park has ample room. There is also a creek where you will sometimes see kids or dogs go in. There are also a lot of squirrels going from tree to tree.

Good Park, Could Use Some Love…read more This is a good sized playground to play in for kids, while at the same time it seems forgotten by time in a way with mildew buildup and a broken slide and a broken viewer wheel. It has good attractions still for my almost 3 year old. He really likes the monster truck spring toy for bouncing. There are still a couple slides that work but the big one is literally broken through. The other enclosed slide is streaming to break away at the top as well which will become a safety issue if it gets much more damaged. If they clean and fix a couple things this place would be a real local gem!

This is an incredible park very close to downtown Cartersville, Georgia…read more The park has a public pool which is well maintained and clean, basketball courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts, football, baseball and soccer fields, an oval running track, lots of asphalt and gravel trails and a beautiful pond in the center with ducks and turtles. An amazing walking trail to honor the US veterans, and all laid out in a beautiful manner. I really enjoy coming here to ride my bike or walk my dog.

I occasionally afford myself the luxury of visiting places without really knowing what to expect…read more This park just wasn't that clear to me in its purpose, but it became more so after arrival, with a visitor center focused on Native American history and identifying this as a Cherokee Nation headquarters. A spread of recreated buildings outside offers opportunities for perusal. The most aesthetically distinctive site is a large spring of the sort that seem more common in Kentucky than Tennessee, which evinces a robust blue color and empties into a clear stream. The spring itself is off-limits, but the stream is open for wading. All of these sites are within sight of the initial entrance, but a trek uphill reveals picnic areas, an amphitheater, and a couple of mile trail through the woods. Between the different elements of the park, it was easy to spend a couple of hours there, and best of all, it's free, though the gift shop warrants examination.
