I've been a loyal customer of Sakura for years, but sadly, my recent visits have made me question…read morewhether I'll be coming back anytime soon. While the Teppanyaki remains a strong point and it's still a great venue for family parties and events, the Sushi and Sashimi quality has deteriorated significantly over time. With Todays visit, I started with the Hamachi Aji, which is Yellowtail served in yellow Aji sauce. When it arrived, the fish was practically swimming in the sauce, giving me an immediate impression of what was to come. The dish was overwhelmingly sour, with a mixture of lime juice and yellow sauce that reminded me of a Mariscos type aguachile dish, but without any of the expected spice. I wasn't a fan of the sourness, as I personally prefer sashimi in its pure, unadulterated form. By the time the Yellowtail reached our table, it was cooked in Lime juice. When I shared my feedback with the waiter, he explained that this particular dish was supposed to have a citrusy flavor and suggested it might not be to my taste. While I understand that regional differences exist, I've dined at many sushi restaurants, and this approach just didn't sit well with me. Next, we tried a sashimi sampler, which included yellowtail, tuna, and salmon. Unfortunately, it was more of the same disappointment. The salmon had a distinct "briney" smell and a mushy texture, making it almost inedible. The tuna was bland and had a new borderline salty taste, while the yellowtail was the only fish that seemed passable, with decent texture and flavor. It's clear that the quality of the food has worsened over the years. I first visited Sakura back in 2001, and I've watched it decline in both freshness and preparation these last few years. To add insult to injury, after I expressed my concerns to the waiter, I overheard him talking to the kitchen staff about my comments, and they were laughing about it in the back. That really left a bad taste in my mouth--not only was the food subpar, but the lack of professionalism in handling feedback was disappointing. I didn't bother checking Yelp reviews before my visit because I've been coming here for so long, but after this experience, I'm definitely going to be more cautious about my next dining decisions. I won't be returning to Sakura unless I see a marked improvement in both the food and service.

My sister and I were excited to try this new restaurant after seeing that they advertised ramen…read moresoups. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing, and I normally do not take the time to write reviews. We stopped by specifically for the ramen, only to find out that they did not have any ramen soups available. We decided to try a few other items instead. Unfortunately, the food was not enjoyable. The California roll was hard and tough, and the carne asada roll had an extremely strong and unpleasant flavor. The avocado also tasted fizzy and did not seem fresh. The shrimp udon noodles were the only dish that we found to be okay. The service was also very disappointing. We waited approximately 30 minutes for our food, and once it arrived, we had to wait another 10 minutes just to receive plates to eat. The waitress appeared extremely stressed, and it seemed that she was the only person taking orders, serving food, and bringing drinks to the tables. While I understand that being short-staffed can be difficult, it significantly affected our experience. When the waitress brought the plates, she asked if something was wrong with the food. We explained that we simply could not eat it because we did not like the flavor. She asked if she should remove the plates and gave the impression that the uneaten dishes would be taken off the bill. Unfortunately, things became even worse. While serving a table next to us, the waitress dropped a bottle of mayonnaise and chili sauce. The bottle hit the floor, and the contents splattered all over my sister's white pants and brand-new shoes, completely ruining the birthday outfit she had been wearing. We were understandably very upset. There was also an older gentleman wiping tables who may have been the owner or manager--I am not certain. He witnessed what happened but never came over to apologize, check on my sister, or even ask why we had returned our food. That lack of concern was very disappointing. As a business owner myself, I understand how important customer experience is. I always want my customers to leave happy and satisfied, refer others, and want to come back. Unfortunately, we did not feel that same level of care at this restaurant. When it was time to pay, I assumed the two dishes that had been taken away because we could not eat them would be removed from the bill. Instead, everything was charged, and our total came to $64.62. Overall, we were extremely dissatisfied with both the food and the service. What should have been a nice birthday outing with my sister turned into a very disappointing experience. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving both the quality of the food and the way customer concerns are handled.

This place doesn't deserve even one star…read more We ordered a teriyaki tray that arrived with no sauce at all. When we called, we were promised a replacement, with no instruction to bring the original tray back. Even so, we brought it with us. The staff's solution? Heat up some sauce and pour it over the cold food. That was unacceptable, especially after being promised a replacement. When we called the owner, he claimed that people in the community are always "taking advantage" of them and insisted on seeing the food. We later picked up what they called a "replacement" tray--this one drenched in teriyaki sauce, with onion peels (trash) cooked into it. At that point, we requested a refund. They eventually agreed, but the final interaction was shocking. The owner said, "If I knew it was you, I would have never treated you this way." That comment says everything. Instead of addressing a legitimate issue respectfully, the owner was fixated on past experiences with other customers and projected that onto us. We gave them the courtesy of addressing the problem directly rather than immediately leaving a bad review--and that courtesy was not valued or respected. Very disappointing experience overall.
