I'm from Phoenix Arizona been yelping for awhile saw how many reviews this place had and thought on trying it but it was really disappointed with my experience in this place, the lacking of costumer service was unbelievable too the point that some else other than my server was coming to help since she notice how neglected we were I understand when is a busy day but I work in a down in theater with 150 ppl watching the movie and I still take my orders and serve my food I wasn't even brought water silver ware till 30 mins in sitting down we ask for to go boxes and never got them ask for the check same we had to stand up to be notice when paying my check I told my server how I ask for water and it took for ever and never got to go boxes and still she didn't offer and ignore my comment.

    Michigan roll

I thought it was so interesting that they had 50 states, roll edition. I got the Michigan which had a bunch of types of fish - surprisingly generous with the amount per piece. The fish was okay, fresher than what I expected for El Centro. Was sad that the roll was only 6 pieces. Definitely not worth $17-18 after tax/tip, but if you had an insane sushi craving in El Centro this is one of your only options.

We are still looking for a sushi bar locally. We are in a somewhat small city that has more chain restaurants than unique dining experiences. We have gone to many chain places because at least you know what you are getting. But I need sushi and that means trying unknown and maybe scary places. This is a first take and hope to update with more information. K Sushi Bar and Grill seems, to me, like more of a roll place than a full sushi restaurant. First thing you see is the 50 rolls they make for the 50 states-then specialty rolls. These far outnumber the nigiri or sashimi. And sometimes, even though they have a base set of ingredients to make the rolls, they are more mass produced and taste that way. Rolls can hide less or not good fish in rice and sauces. The second issue, is that they have precut fish for the rolls, nigiri and sashimi. While the cream cheese and sauces that can be in rolls can moisten and hide the flavor of precut sushi, in nigiri and sashimi the precut fish does not taste as good as fresh. We only ordered a salmon nigiri to test the freshness and because I love it and am the guinea pig. It comes in a cute to go box with wasabi and ginger. The salmon was very thin but covered the rice long. The salmon was not flavorful because while a regular sushi bar takeout might be still ok, precut fish can not. Really not much different from grocery store sushi. We may give it one more chance but I don't hold out hope for even 4 star sushi. They do have other unique foods we may try too. Anyway, San Diego is only an hour and a half away. Ambiance (4/5) Service (4/5) Food (1/5) = 3 stars overall

Amazing food and great service. I like to sit at the sushi bar and talk to the sushi guy and get the specials. Lovely establishment.

    5. California Roll

First time eating here. Ordered the California roll and Florida roll. And also ordered spicy ramen. Would try it again. Pros: California roll was up to par with other places I have ate at. The Florida roll has a lot of avocado and can definitely share it. As for the ramen, they allow you to control the level of spice. And get service. Cons: They should probably warn you about the big portions. They didn't have all the items on the menu.

The sushi was delicious, the sake was so tasty, the service was very prompt and friendly. We were even gifted some very pretty fans!

"Veggie roll" is literally just lettuce sloppily rolled with rice and seaweed.

(3/5) * Modern sushi…read morespot with some Japanese-inspired décor. Bar area with Japanese liquors displayed when you walk in. Table seating only; no booths. * Menu is accessed by scanning a QR code. Personally, I prefer a physical menu so I can see everything at once instead of being on my phone during dinner. * Service was slow with only one waitress working. Long waits for drinks, ordering, and follow-up service. * Lemonade was disappointing--very bitter and tasted more like watered-down lemon juice. * Sushi rolls looked good and were decent overall. * Udon bowl was huge but only filled about - 1/2 of the way. Portion size didn't match the price. Taste was okay, but the kid said hes had way better. The fish cakes were definitely the highlight. * Tempura was good, but I was disappointed because the menu description led me to expect something different than what was served. * Spicy salmon hand roll was just okay. * After mentioning confusion about my order, our waitress never checked back, refilled drinks, or followed up with our table. * Asked about available discounts (military, AAA, etc.) and was quickly told no before I could finish asking. * Best part of the evening? The adorable baby at the table next to us who provided the only entertainment. Overall: The food was average with a few highlights, but the slow and inattentive service significantly impacted the experience. We still left a tip, but unfortunately, I don't think we'd rush back.

I started with their special appetizer,…read morewhich tasted EXTREMELY fishy (good sushi shouldn't), it was deep fried and pretty sure the bones weren't removed. The dipping sauce did salvage it. Moving on to the sushi. None of it was fresh, the rice was extremely chewy, and the flavors were lacking. Not to mention the cost was not worth it. The ONLY reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because of my service. She was attentive, helpful, and kind. Nothing too exceptional about the layout, but all in all I would not be going back.

If I lived close, I would need to try all of them... except California because I've had a bunch of those. The only negative I would say is that me and my colleagues plates came out and they were presented really well, unique looking and on fancy plates. But he got an order of gyoza and it was served on a plastic basket. So everything else was all fancy, but the gyoza came out and it wasn't as nice of a presentation. Atmosphere: Its spacious inside, not too crowded and lots of Japanese decorations everywhere. I would have liked if they had cleaned the menus though because they were a little greasy feeling. Price: Not a bad price, middle of the road I would say. Edamame less than 4$ so that was cool. The coke they served was a long, 16.9oz glass bottle, I didn't even know they made those anymore! Service: Our server was nice, no complaints. Although it took a little while to get her attention, but after that it was all good. Overall: Like I said, I would totally come back here to try more rolls. Very cool little place in El Centro. If I come back through to go to Mexicali, I will stop here again.
