Sushi was mid at best. I got it Togo which I got sashimi and a spicy tuna roll. I travel for work and have eaten sushi all over California mostly takeout. This was the very first time I got back to the hotel a 20 minute drive and there was no wasabi wtf horrible service . Please don't go there the staff was rude and again wtf no wasabi. If it was better quality maybe it would be okay. Couldn't eat it luckily got a couple other items that were somewhat edible but the sushi wasn't. This Evening, I went to K sushi with my date, and not only did we arrive to several dirty tables, we were sat at one, and completely ignored. Upon being seated, we had to ask for the table to be wiped down after they took the used dishes off the table. The server was upset and seemed mad that we asked her to do her job and have basic server etiquette. We waited for a server to come over to take our order for us, but waited for almost an hour. This place really deteriorated overall with quality of food and service. The employees appear limited to provide anything extra as there is not enough such as clean menus. When service is better than the food, chances are the food wasn't great! Mexican food rules out here so sushi has a tough competitor. So salmon was a little over cooked California roll was average and the fried veggies . The vegetables under the salmon were tasty and the best thing inside the bento box. I called in to order I was placed on hold for 20 minutes, I decided to drive to the place still on hold, walked in and placed my order in person, i showed my phone still on hold to the waitress that placed me on hold and told her she forgot about me. I expected to see the place to be packed packed with customers but that wasn't the case I saw maybe 3-4 tables being used. Waitress apologized to me said she was in training I just asked to order. She went on her business doing whatever. I waited another 55 minutes for my order to be given to me. They had my order sitting behind this wall where the waitresses gather the order together. Who knows how long my order was just sitting there. That waitress would just look at me and not bother making it right. Told me she would give me a free side which she didn't either. I didn't care at that point I just wanted to leave with my food. I noticed a customer there placing an order and he left right when I was ordering. He returned and saw me there still waiting and he asked me if I had left and returned and I told him nope I've been waiting this whole time. When they finally found my order I just left. The thing I hate about this sushi place is they market all the raw sushi rolls together, however they are not the same. The do not separate the categories of seaweed on the outside (5 pieces) or seaweed on the inside (8 pieces) but yet you get charged more for seaweed on the outside. Good way for them to make extra money and you to lose out on the amount of food you're expecting. Order online so they don't f*$& up your order and also to know exactly what you've ordered. The fish was okay, fresher than what I expected for El Centro. Was sad that the roll was only 6 pieces. We are still looking for a sushi bar locally. We are in a somewhat small city that has more chain restaurants than unique dining experiences. We have gone to many chain places because at least you know what you are getting. But I need sushi and that means trying unknown and maybe scary places. This is a first take and hope to update with more information. K Sushi Bar and Grill seems, to me, like more of a roll place than a full sushi restaurant. First thing you see is the 50 rolls they make for the 50 states-then specialty rolls. These far outnumber the nigiri or sashimi. And sometimes, even though they have a base set of ingredients to make the rolls, they are more mass produced and taste that way. Rolls can hide less or not good fish in rice and sauces. The second issue, is that they have precut fish for the rolls, nigiri and sashimi. While the cream cheese and sauces that can be in rolls can moisten and hide the flavor of precut sushi, in nigiri and sashimi the precut fish does not taste as good as fresh. We only ordered a salmon nigiri to test the freshness and because I love it and am the guinea pig. It comes in a cute to go box with wasabi and ginger. The salmon was very thin but covered the rice long. The salmon was not flavorful because while a regular sushi bar takeout might be still ok, precut fish can not. Really not much different from grocery store sushi. We may give it one more chance but I don't hold out hope for even 4 star sushi. They do have other unique foods we may try too. First time eating here. Ordered the California roll and Florida roll. And also ordered spicy ramen. Would try it again. Pros: California roll was up to par with other places I have ate at. The Florida roll has a lot of avocado and can definitely share it. As for the ramen, they allow you to control the level of spice. And get service. This restaurant is ok. The service is super slow. I believe the food is a bit overpriced for the quality but the portions are pretty big. Ordered the fried rice, tempura udon, and spicy tuna roll. The fried rice was good and large enough to share between two people. The tempura udon flavor was lacking and tasted bland. It also had broccoli in it which was a little odd since I've never had tempura udon with broccoli in it! But maybe you might enjoy it. This place also offers 50 different types of sushi rolls (based on states) which is pretty cool but that price range for each roll is $13-20. Yikes lol. I live in Los Angeles so it's really nice to have a legit Korean restaurant near me to get my fix! You can't go wrong with much here but I definitely recommend the fried calamari. They're different from the usual places because they use thick sliced pieces without the tentacles. (Props to y'all who go in and eat those tentacles like nothing!) I had this awesome fried asparagus thing that I can't remember what else was on it. But if you see it, get it. And they have my favorite type of Green tea; Genmacha green tea. It has a nice roasted flavor. I love their Colorado roll because it's basically me as a sushi roll: half Asian, half Latina, all delicious! But seriously, it's got pico de gallo and it's bomb. The service was also really amazing. Everyone was very nice and the owner was very sweet! This place is me and mom's favorite spot. She loves their Miso soup. She keeps it simple but she's had miso soup everywhere and this place is her fave! It's got a lot of space too, so no need to worry about getting too close to people without a mask on. This spot has pretty good sushi. I enjoyed the California roll. We also ordered the Florida roll which is basically an avocado stuffed with crab and some spicy mayo on top. It wasn't bad but I didn't expect each piece to be so big(see picture). I think if the pieces were smaller it would be more enjoyable, no one wants to cut up their sushi to eat it. I also ordered the spicy ramen with chicken. It wasn't anything to special kinda tasted like chicken noodle soup. I would come back for the sushi it is probably the best place in the area for it. Im being generous after the way the skinny blond waiter with glasses treated us. My toddler is autistic and he had a short episode over a toy he dropped. This chick walks over (who wasn't even our server but worked there) and immediately tells me I have to move to the patio because "your kid is being very loud"...which I get but she had THE WORST MOST CRAPPY ATTITUDE! I have been going to this ever since it opened, I am a really big fan of the food despite how horrible their services are and how often they mess up on people's orders. They purposely put their phone line busy to avoid taking orders (has happened to me many many times especially during lunch hours 12-3). That's besides the point, I still was willing to go because I really liked their food! Their other issue is they purposely always try to skimp out the customers. There's been numerous times where I have ordered a simple CA roll (has crab, avocado, and CUCUMBER), I have noticed they stopped adding the cucumber. Once I noticed that, I personally started to ask for cucumber to be included in my CA ROLL. Many times they have charged me a dollar extra and still not add the cucumber. I still would go and take my chances because again, I liked their food. Today's incident was really my final straw. The server on the phone made me feel silly for my request, and not only that but did a very poor job on passing the message to the chef. When I call them to let them know, they are very careless about it and just say "oh come back to swap it out" I don't know if they expected me to take them the wrong order back but that's disgusting so I didn't. When I get there, the server is unaware of why I'm back and out of frustration I say "I was just on the fucking phone with you" there were no insults or rude comments made to the server or anyone, that was pure frustration because despite everything I kept going back to eat there (my fault I guess) after that, I get a phone call from someone at k sushi letting me know they are refusing my service from now on because I said the word "fucking". Their customer service is the worst and I have personally seen the owner be inappropriate to his servers as well. Really do not recommend this place at all, I really wish jade would come back. I ordered a dinner bento box and only received the honey sesame chicken and rice. No tempura veggies, salad or california roll - and yes, I was charged the $20 price of the bento box. Secondly, my husband ordered the tonkatsu ramen and it was the worst ramen I've ever had. It was so flavorless my husband actually thought he lost his taste buds taking a bite. I hate being so negative but really a packet of instant top ramen would have been 1000 times better. The food was so low quality we didn't even eat. We complained on DoorDash and all we were given was a $3 refund for the $60 we spent. Poor service, food and experience overall. read more

You know this place used to be great, it was my go to spot for sushi but we went recently and service was horrible sushi was sloppy and not the good sloppy lol, it seems like they were overwhelmed with Togo orders and they let the customers inside the restaurant suffer for it, I am not sure if they are too cheap to get more help but come on there isn't more than 10 tables in the place and with 3 servers it's still horrible service they can do better. We should have waited the 40 minute at FUJISAN my new go to.
