Requested a hair cut and highlights. I've been going to Fernanda for about 10 years. She's made my hair, blonde, pink, violet, and other colors in between. It's been since (Covid) 2020 that I let my natural color grow out, I have a white streak of gray right in the front and it makes life interesting. I was hesitant to get it colored because I do love my grays but a girl might need a change. (Ugh, decisions, decisions) I texted Fernanda the day before about being torn between color or no color. I walked in around 1pm the next day, was quickly greeted by Fernanda and we chatted about my color. She told me she would prefer not to add highlights only because I'd go back to having to get it retouched every 6-8 weeks and because she loves the way my grays look. I was kinda relieved she told me cause we opted NOT to color it, that might change later on in the year but for now, I left it as is. Grateful she was interested in the care to my hair and not just out to make $. Which is why I keep going back, Fernanda cares about making sure I was happy with my decision. It's my first time coming here. I called on a Friday to set an appointment for a hair color and cut. I was pleasantly surprised Monze gave me an appointment for the next day! She's a true professional asked me to text a photo of the hair color I like. I gladly texted her the pic and she was well prepared at my appointment. I normally go with something more natural and always pleased /getting complements with Fernanda. However, this time I wanted to go with something edgy/ fun. I was fortunate enough to have Fernanda referred to me by a dear friend. Her hair was always beautiful. That you have to stop someone and ask "Who does your hair?" Level of gorgeous. I noticed a few other ladies we work with also had beautiful color on their hair. They all go to Fernanda! I am very particular about who I permit to color treat my hair. After a consult and a month long wait for my appointment (the girls that know.. KNOW) she is booked! But it is worth the wait, just plan accordingly. Note to anyone who is like me and attempts to call a couple of days before I would like my service DO NOT DO THAT! So, my big date is here, I walk in I'm warmly greeted and seated. We review the plan I listen to her recommendation and we begin. She communicated every step of the process to me I had no worries. The end result was beyond my expectations! I hadn't added color to my hair in years. It was so satisfying to have made the decision to do so and have the outcome exceed my expectations. I am now often stopped and asked who diid my hair. I almost want to gatekeep her to myself. She is too good to not share. Bonus! her team is equally awesome. The vibe is professional, friendly and knowledgeable. They know their stuff! I recently moved from Reno to El Sobrante. I've used the same haircutter for the past 15 years, so it was important to me that I found a haircutter I could trust. I found that trust within minutes of meeting Fernanda. I was very impressed! She took the time to get to know me, said all the right things, and asked the right questions. Review #064 - 2020 I used to get my hair trimmed every month & colored every three months, that was back when I actually put some effort into my appearance. And, Hong was one of the few hairstylists that I would frequent back in 2013. These days, I'm lucky to have an opportunity to get away from the baby once a year to get a haircut, forget about getting a stylish color. I was looking to get a haircut because I got tired of my hair being too long to curl & the leaving it alone just made my hair looked super thin. I called a few different places & no one was available over the weekend so I had to wait until Monday, March 16th, to be seen by Hong. I showed up at 12:30 PM for my appointment & Hong was waiting for me, even though the shop was normally closed. Hong is quick, friendly & professional! I was very lucky that she had an available slot since we ended up going into a shelter-in-place the very next day, so I would've been stuck without a haircut for another month or longer. Even though it is a bit of a drive for me, I'm willing to come back to see Hong the next time I need another haircut. read more

I think it is interesting that she doesn't list her rates. Before I went I googled to see what her prices were, there was no listing of her rates! I asked her about that and she said that the rates change all the time! I think it depends if she like you or not! Went there 3 times and for a hair cut I was charged $60.00 and then $55 dollars! I don't think she knows how to color hair, because I mentioned that I had never had highlights before. I have brown hair and the first time the highlights came out just about blonde all over. I gasped! She said she would tone it down and the proceeded to charge me $120.00 dollars. read more

Looking for a haircut place nearby and found "The Room Hair Design". Before I checked in, I wanted to confirm first what the reviews were like. Sure enough, everyone so far has given a high rating and recommendation for this place. Therefore, I didn't hesitate to walk in. Fernanda is the owner, and she cut my hair. She kindly asked me how I want my hair cut and explained to her in detail the length of hair to cut, to style and spike the front and top of my hair, and to keep the back side squared in shape. She nailed it with my request. She even showed me the proper way of using gel and wax to style my hair. The price is affordable for haircuts as well. Before I had my haircut, a woman before me had her hair colored and cut. The color on her hair looked natural and beautiful and the way her hair was cut and layered looked stunning. Fernanda did an incredible job styling and coloring the woman's hair. She's very professional, caring, and provides great tips on what hair products would work well for her customers. There are parking spaces available in the premise. Her store is clean and organize. After getting my haircut, I really felt good knowing I had a great haircut service. I would definitely recommend her for haircuts or hair color. You are in good hands with Fernanda! read more

I have been Fernanda's customer for over 10 years and there's no one I can trust more to do my hair than her! I've gone from lighter hair to darker hair many times and I never had an issue as the products she uses are quality hair products and with her professionalism, she always makes sure her customers are happy with the results! I went last week for my 5 weeks hair touch up appointment and witnessed a very uncomfortable scene caused by Mrs. Bo I. (She just posted a review)... Since the moment I arrived for my appointment until the moment Mrs. Bo I. left, they only thing coming out from this lady was insults towards Fernanda because Mrs Bo I. didn't like how her hair looked which to me looked amazing. Fernanda offered Mrs Bo I. to re-do her hair without a problem, which it was based on a picture she showed Fernanda and I'm sure Mrs. Bo I. hair looked exactly the same or very close to the one on the picture. As the insults towards Fernanda continued even though she was trying to fix Mr.Bo I. problem, I suspected this customer was complaining so she could get away with a FREE new hairstyle.... I got so upset seeing how Mrs. Bo I. was treating Fernanda that I had to step up and asked customer to please stop and leave the salon as she was making us all feel very uncomfortable (the salon was full of customers) with the way she was reacting even though Fernanda re-do her hair. Mrs. B I. started using very rude language and threat Fernanda saying she was a lawyer and will sue her for what she did to her...really? Doing your hair which btw looked amazing ??!! Wow, I knew what her plan was since the beginning, to NO PAY a dime!!! I do have a video of her threatening Fernanda, hopefully I can upload through here. Fernanda did nothing wrong, Mrs. B I. clearly has issues, just check her other salon review and then you see who is the problem! Im sure she didn't pay for her service received there either! The Room Hair Design is the best salon in the area, please don't let other people issues stop you from visiting!!!! read more

The person who did my hair is Hong. She was amazing! She listened to what I wanted and she pointed out some awesome hair tips/advice. Not only did she give me an awesome hair cut but she also took into account my head shape and how my hair is more dense on one side so she had to adjust the cut to make sure it looks even. Called for a same day appointment and was able to get an appointment within the hour. Upon arrival the salon was clean and the ladies were extremely friendly. They made my daughter and I feel welcomed. Tanya listened closely to how my daughter wanted her hair cut and offered useful feedback. She did an amazing job cutting and styling her hair. We will be back. It's hard to find great customer service and people that know what they are doing but these ladies nailed it. I recommend this awesome salon. read more

Overpriced and not that great. Recommended my tia go here because of the great reviews but her hair did not come out the way she wanted. She paid over $200 for splotchy color and a cut with no style. She will be going elsewhere to get it corrected. read more

Okay so for months my hair was in desperate need of a haircut and scalp treatment. I was going through a depression/binge eating phase. I even screwed up my hair (by cutting off large amount of my hair and they weren't even!) because of the number of knots that was in my hair. Thankfully I came across The Room Salon. All the reviews you see are honest reviews by people who have visited this salon. It is hands down my favorite so far. I thank Fernanda for being able to squeeze me into her schedule. You ruined a teens self esteem! This really took a toll on him mentally, his hair means everything to him. When I went, the store was closed but I heard a honk. To my surprise, it was Ann! She opened the door and explained to me that she went to do some errands due to a no show and I was able to fit in same day at the time I arrived. For cut, style, and wash, this was $40 either cash or Zelle to Ann. She told me that the number indeed is no longer valid and each of the hairstylists are contacted by their personal phone number to schedule appointments etc. I typically don't go to the same hairstylists unless if the price is cheap/ the person cuts well. Personally, $40 is a lot but I wasn't only give those services. Ann was the first hairstylist to ask me the temperature of the water I use to wash my hair since she noticed I have thinning hair. Even telling her I have genetic hair loss, she reassured me it can be combatted in some ways. I feel confident to come back to get my hair cut by Ann after my very first time here. Definitely out of my budget in some ways but where can you find this package for this price? I highly would recommend Ann! She's such a sweet person too!

It wasn't until I was sitting there that I realized how used to bad treatment I'd gotten. Other salons trained me without me even noticing, packed into a tiny space, treated like I'm on a conveyor belt, rushed out before my nails even had time to properly dry. I had honestly forgotten my time and my experience mattered. Delane's brought that back for me. The professionalism was on another level too. No games with the price going up if you don't tip in cash, which is honestly tacky and rude and tells you exactly how little they think of their customers. Nobody crowding me in next to three other people either. It was calm, it was peaceful, it actually felt relaxing instead of stressful. And the cleanliness. Towels were fresh, equipment looked properly cleaned, none of that murky blue water sitting in a dirty container that's clearly been there for who knows how long. Not to mention, when I arrived there were no instructions on how to get into the building. No signage. No way to communicate with her.
