This is officially my most overdue Yelp review (okay - maybe selfishly)!! But it's time to share my secret, haha - Gio is the most talented stylist in every way one can think. My hair is not easily managed :), and I went through decades of trying to find the right person who has taste and skills... until I met Gio. I cannot count the number of people I referred to Gio, and they got hooked on him like I am. He knows how to make any hair look sexy and its best, period. As an example, my aunt from DC who managed high-end stores like Gucci and Versace for decades (and is so picky when it comes to hair styles) went to Gio a few years back. She later told me when she returned to DC she just tried to cut her hair in a manner that would maintain Gio's style for as long as she could. I won't even mention his amazing and funny personality, because I would go to him even if he was a jerk frankly, haha. He also serves the best espresso so you can stay alert and keep up with his jokes. Worth noting, he is clever and sensitive to listen to what clients want, but I tend to ask him to give me his own suggestions as I've learned he knows best. Hands down BEST hair stylist in the area !! Giovani is a color genius and completely changed the texture of my hair. I went to him a couple years ago for the first time, when I was 17,when my mom didn't even let me color my hair. However being a typical teenager, of course I rebelled.He transitioned my boring dull brown hair Into a beautiful dark merlot color. This is my first review EVER and its sooooo mandatory! If your looking for the best of the best this is your guy. He is incredible. I have been coming to Hair Guru Gio for years and every time i come out a well satisfied client but this time around it was jaw dropping. I am a long haired very dark Burnett whom chose to not dye my hair for two years. I came in needing color correction and color, i went from dark to the most perfect blond customized to my olive skin tone. It amazing!!!!! I can not be any happier and would have never thought i could pull off this result, its incredible! I have gotten compliments from EVERYONE I cant even exaggerate this enough, I love it and the time and patience he took with it to get everything just right is amazing. Because I went from dark to light he made sure to clear his scheduled because it took dedication. This man is a perfectionist with hair to the T. Gio is a must! Hair Guru for hair. He creates magic and I am always complimented after my visits with him. I am fairly high maintenance when it comes to hair and Gio never ceases to amaze me with his talent. One VERY important fact of the matter is I make dramatic and drastic changes from summer to winter and my hair has never been damaged ever. I travel a bit of a ways through traffic to be his client and I will travel any distance for his magic. I walk in share my vision and he gets to work and makes my vision into reality without a hitch. I appreciate his perfectionism if something isn't right he will MAKE it right no ifs ands or buts about it. An added bonus is the entertainment. HAHAHA... I couldn't imagine anyone being bored during this long grueling process of hair, his conversation topics are off the chart like no other. He is an original often imitated but NEVER duplicated.
