I've visited some barbers in the past who didn't listen to what I asked for, gave me a bad haircut, and had the audacity to tell me that it looked good. It's been some months since I've been here, but I really wanted to write a quick review to let others know that they can trust Audrey's. Very warm and welcoming service at this salon. My stylist was very patient with me when I told her that I didn't quite know what to do with my hair. I prefer to talk to my barbers, so I was glad that she made conversation with me during the half hour that she worked on my hair. I asked for a shave as well, but I learned that since they aren't technically a barbershop, they're not allowed to do shaves with razors. Not a problem at all. If I lived in Gainesville, I would come to Audrey's for my haircuts. I was very satisfied with the results and left a nice tip, which I always do for good barbers and stylists. I hope this business is doing well, because they deserve it.

If anyone would like to contract with a defensive business owner who isn't open to customer feedback to improve their services, then by all means that is your choice!! ................... I contracted with Moxie-To-Go in Gainesville for my sister's wedding which included 14 services (hair/makeup). Overall, the experience was a major disappointment. Moxie was quick to respond with a service quote but in hindsight, after signing, I realized the makeup artist assigned to my contract didn't do airbrush. The service menu said "traditional/airbrush" -- it should clearly state which service is being provided if both aren't available! Check this before you sign with Moxie. This caused a major issue down the road for us. The bride had a poor experience at the trial and Moxie told her the makeup artist assigned to our event didn't work well with mature skin so they had the hair stylist (who knows how to airbrush) do makeup for the bride. So Moxie knowingly sent a makeup artist who didn't work with mature skin well, as we're all in our 40s. There were other communication issues related to day of logistics, like creating a service schedule, that Moxie wouldn't help with and said they never make schedules. It just seemed so disorganized. Nearly every email I sent to Moxie for guidance, a different person responded to me, which confused things further. It would be nice to have a dedicated support contact for a special event. The day of the wedding there were 4 of 5 bridesmaids disappointed with their makeup for various reasons but mainly color matching and foundation issues. The hair stylist on site offered to fix us all (we were very grateful for that and she did make us feel better) but then she had to manage 8 hair styles plus fixing makeup for 4 bridesmaids. I just felt the service/end result we received did not match the price at all. We found out later that the makeup artist isn't licensed. We put faith in Moxie based on other positive reviews, but they didn't deliver and caused extra stress for the bride and bridal party before and during the event. We ended up having to tip more because we felt bad for the hairstylist who fixed our makeup -- when in reality, we should have been getting a refund since the makeup had to be fixed in the first place. Our hair stylist was amazing. No issues with hair and she at least fixed our faces. For some girls she had to completely remove the foundation done by the makeup artist and start over.

She's the best. Now that we've moved to the "Natures Coast", I make special trips up to see the best hairdresser I've ever had. She listens to what I think I want and I always leave happy. She once saved me from drastically cutting off 22" when I was upset! She gave me a great cut, listened to me whine and cry, took off only 6", and gave me a style that I loved. Robyn is the best at what she does and is very accomodating to work with your needs and schedule, going in early and staying late if needed. I had met Chelsea briefly once before when I came into the shop one time. She gave me her card and said she would be happy to have a new client. I made an appointment 1/31/23 and went in to get my waist length hair cut & styled. I had to wait a couple of weeks to get in as she doesn't work weekends and after 4pm is challenging to get an appointment. When I got there on time she was running 30+ minutes late. No worries I waited it happens. I brought in pictures of what I might want. I decided after talking to go back to the heavily layered/feathered look I had previously. Just below my shoulders. (Which it is not) My bad.... I should have had her take more off then and there. Since it was our first interaction I gave her grace and figrued I would fix it myself and see what I thought. Again my bad..upon looking at it after she took pictures I was not happy with it. Entirely to long, looked all chopped up and uneven. But ....She told me if it was to long or if I needed it adjusted to just give her a call and she would fix it. So I figured I would work with it and see then have it recut if it didn't work for me. I called her the beginning of the next week to come and have it shortened and layered more. She was either not in or already gone the couple of times I called that week. I tried again week 2 and left a message asking her to call me. She never did. Finally I sent her a text as a last resort to see about getting back in. Monday 2/13/23. She replied telling me how crazy busy she had been and she would work me in at 12:30 on Wednesday. I work 8 -4 MF and I replied as such. I could be in anytime and day after 4:15. And I would be off all day Monday 2/20/23. No response. Thursday 2/15/23 I sent another text saying thank you anyway Have a good day. She responded at 8:45 pm are you still off Monday. I replied yes... crickets again. I waited a couple of more days 2/18/23 and texted her ... I m moving on now but thank you for the time you spent. No response what so ever. This is absolutely NO WAY to operate a business and very unprofessional. I would NOT a recommend Chelsea as a hairdresser in any way shape or form.
