She did a great job and I'm a picky person. I'm the type that likes to find one solid stylist where I live and stick with them for life instead of bouncing around from stylist to stylist. I've been getting my haircut by Pati now for over a year and I was sold by the 2nd cut (first cut was perfect, but you have to be sure they are consistent!). I was worried that most of the photos that I saw were clipper cuts and I don't look great with super short hair, but Pati listened to what I wanted and gave me a great haircut using scissors and a razor to texturize and thin out some of the bulky areas. I have really coarse, rough Asian hair that's pretty uncommon and very difficult to cut. Every barber I've met, from California to Kansas to NYC, never understood how to cut it properly (to be fair neither did I) until I met Pati. The moment I sat down in her chair she understood everything about the texture of my hair and proceeded to cut and style it better than I thought was possible for 23 years with my type of hair. She knew how it would react if it was cut improperly, figured out where other barbers had gone wrong, and over the course of the 10 months I lived in LA she styled my hair to the best it's ever been. Like, I'm not going to sugarcoat it, I looked fresh as hell when I was seeing Pati. She also gave me clear instructions on how to style my type of hair with a combination of two products that I still swear by nearly two years later. She knows so much about all kinds of different hair it's incredible. She was explaining it to me one time but she even knows how to like...tattoo thousands of hair follicles onto bald heads or something of the sort. Pati does it all. Besides her own wizardry and knowledge of all things hair, she's also incredibly chill and so great at communication.
