But my hair was absolutely butchered in this salon and people need a fair warning. Mariah was my stylist. Again, she was nice, but the manager Kyra had to hold her hand through the entire process. I'm assuming she's new in the industry. Anyways, I came into the salon for a simple balayage refresh. It was suggested that I lighten more of my hair to achieve my desired look. I did say I didn't want to go to my roots, but I ended up following the managers advice and let them lighten then tone more. This picture is what I was left with, even after a second attempt to fix the color. I was left with several different colors in my hair, a lot of it was orange, all of it was choppy and clunky. A ton of mismatched spots. Completely different colors from top to bottom. Like I said, thankfully I was given a refund. But in full transparency to anyone out there, PLEASE go elsewhere to get anything done to your hair- unless it is a different trusted stylist. I had to go to a different salon to fix the mess (Shoutout to Jessica at the Rage Salon. She fixed my hair and was a total lifesaver) but because my hair was bleached and processed so much at Ulta, I can't lighten it for a while. So now I'm set back on my hair plans, which kinda sucks. I booked an online haircut for "short" (there is no description for what short, medium, or long…read moremeans, I had slightly below shoulder length hair and wanted it cut to be above two inches). When I got to the shop I was immediately asked who I booked with and what it was for. They did not ask my name to look me up. When I said Michael they asked me to take a seat. Two ladies and Michael then gathered around the front desk 3 feet away from my chair and offered to take the appointment for him. He asked the ladies why it was booked for him and they said it was online. He sighed rolled his eyes and said "No I will do it". He told me it would be a medium cut as short was around the ear length. Once I got in the chair he was friendly. But he did not listen to me about what I wanted my cut to be and he kept correcting me on my terms for hair-cutting tools and how I did not want it done. He did it the way he wanted and my hair did what I told him it would (I have thick, fine, straight-as-a-board hair) it fizzed out and looked like someone chopped at it instead of doing layers or thinning underneath where it is not visible. That is the only way to give me volume and take the weight off without giving weird frizz lines in my hair. Then they charged me for a long haircut without saying why I was charged for long and not medium. It took 27 mins to do my hair and I have never been so ready to be out of a salon. Do not go here if you are looking for a cut. Do not book with Michael if you want the price you were originally told and do not come if you don't want them to comment on your coloring and try to upsell you to fix it.
