I purchased the "expert scalp service" which included a mini facial. It ultimately seemed like they just don't cater to people with any scalp or hair issues, they don't ask you about your concerns or goals, and really they provide a one size fits all experience. I really wanted to optimize my hair and scalp care, and sadly came away with the opposite. If they knew anything about scalp care for thinning hair, they sure didn't share any of that knowledge with me. Pro: The person who did my treatment seemed very kind and she meant well, so I have nothing against her specifically. I am giving two stars just because they seem like they try, they just don't seem to have any actual expertise in scalp or head care. The scalp analysis was a few quick close up scans of my scalp with no real explanation other than "see, there's some build up". I have very fine, brittle and thinning hair and the tech kept brushing it roughly throughout different parts of the treatment, including when it was wet with product in my hair (great way to lose more hair). I cringed as I could hear and feel my hair breaking every time. The treatment table is super uncomfortable and my neck kept locking up as the tech worked on different sides of my face, scalp and neck. The facial itself was totally claustrophobic - they put the face mask on, then a big sheet of gauze with something on top to weight it down covering your entire face, including mouth and eyes. It stays there for an hour while they do the scalp treatment. I couldn't see anything and there was so much going on with the water - it totally freaked me out when I was lying there trying to relax and had no idea what the tech was doing. And at one point, all of a sudden there's all this water shooting out at my neck out of nowhere. I spent half the treatment bracing myself for jump scares because I couldn't see anything. But even worse than the hair breakage was that the facial irritated my face so much that I am now all broken out :( I take really good care of my skin so this is a huge bummer. I have no idea what they did to it - there was some kind of scrubbing machine at the beginning of the facial that may have stripped my moisture barrier - or it was the fact that they left the mask on for an hour while they did the scalp treatment and it clogged my pores. My face is now all red and bumpy and some of it is itchy. This has never happened before, and I have no allergies - I think they just messed with my skin way too much. I'm sure they did not consider any specifics of my skin type or age when they did the facial. I'm glad other people like this place, and I'm sorry I didn't. If you have any specific scalp or hair issues, it may be best to avoid H20 or like me, you will come home with a lot less hair than you started with (and possibly a broken out face too!)

Then that cool camera to the scalp area occurred and wow, first time seeing hairs that close up. Trippy haha. Apparently I have an amazing scalp and not much needs to be done, so I was here mostly for curiosity purposes and some relaxation time. If there are scalp issues or any issues you may have concerning your scalp, Monica is very knowledgeable and can offer some treatment plans and suggestions. After that, I changed and lied down on a warming bed. Ah so nice! Got an upper arms/neck/shoulders massage (if you don't want this, you don't need to change- I changed into some tube top robe thingy so that bra straps won't get in the way). Then comes the scalp scrub and steam. First time with scalp scrub. After that, I feel the need to buy some! Then hair gets rinsed and there was some time under the rainbow shaped water thingy. Very nice feeling. Had a warming eye mask on the whole time too. Brief head massage as well. After that, I was shampooed and conditioned, changed back to my normal bra and top, and then Monica dried my hair. I can never do it this great to myself haha. My hair was nicely straight and not all frizzed up, and it felt and stayed fresh for days. 2 Orangetheory classes later, and still going strong as I didn't get that must take shower feeling after the workouts.

I told her my concerns about my hair and whether I should try one of her new lines of products. Again, I did not hear from her until the 20th after messaging her stating "hi there? I haven't heard back from you." This back-and-forth continued until the 21st. After 3 text messages I sent out to her over the course of 6 days, no apology for the lack of communication was given. It took days just to get basic information about product availability, a pickup day/time, and to have my questions answered about my hair concerns, which felt very unprofessional. During this time, I asked a few questions about the different product lines because she previously recommended switching between them. Instead of clear guidance, some responses were vague or uncertain -- including "yeah maybe" when I asked if the scalp shampoo could help with oil buildup on my scalp. It made me feel like she wasn't familiar with her own products. She would recommend some products, but really wouldn't expand on the questions I was asking. When I finally said I was ready to purchase and could Venmo her, she told me I seemed unsure about what I wanted and advised me to wait until after the holiday. I had simply been asking the questions I needed to ask about my hair type and which product line would work best for me, especially since I had already run out of product. I explained multiple times that I just wanted her professional input on what would be most suitable for my hair, given that these are her own products. The service included a hand and arm massage with hot stones and warm compresses, which was such a nice touch. One minute I was getting a scrub, and the next I was waking up -- it was that relaxing. I explained that this was not a change of preference, but a color error. I was told customer satisfaction was the goal, and the fee was reluctantly waived. From the moment I arrived for the second appointment, Chakay Smith's demeanor was noticeably different. There was no warm greeting as before. Instead of being taken to the treatment room, I was instructed to remain in the front lobby while numbing cream was applied and told to wait 15 minutes. I waited closer to 30 minutes, while she disappeared into the back. When I was finally taken to the room, communication was minimal.
