I was very happily getting my hair done for about 2 years at a different salon but my stylist retired so I asked around and several neighbors suggested Monique at Hair Connection. She impressed me on day one and, as it turns out, she actually trained under that previous stylist at the other salon. Such luck! I have extremely dry, thick, wavy hair so I go to Monique for keratin straightening, color (hi, lo lights, ombre, balayage) and to get my hair thinned out. My color is extremely difficult because I'm trying to achieve a gray blend, but I also swim in a chlorinated pool almost every day. Somehow Monique manages to work magic and keep my color fresh. Family and friends tell me I've never looked better. The cherry on top is how reasonable her prices are, especially for this area. I send my best friend and my son to Monique now and they also have never had better cuts. This is a great salon on the Main Street! Hairstylist Clementine Sedighi (Tina) did my elderly aunts hair. She was professional, compassionate and did a fabulous job on her hair. Unfortunately, even though it says "walk-ins" on the door, evidently, this is not the case. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon to a mostly empty salon, and after waiting for a few minutes, a woman with pink hair sauntered slowly up to the front. When I asked if a stylist might be available to cut my child's hair, she said no and actually directed me out of the salon to the tune of "there's another one down the street." Upon reflection, I realized we were dressed in our Saturday casual wear, and perhaps did not look like wealthy clients they want from Claremont. She didn't bother to take our names, see if we could make an appointment for later, nothing. In fact, at 3 in the afternoon, she told us she was about to lock the door. Since their hours are until 7, this was a questionable unbelievable comment. She couldn't have made it any clearer we weren't welcome. Maybe they do a good job with hair, but we would not know because we weren't welcome as clients there. It was a depressing, angering, embarrassing experience. Will never go there again. Recommend you don't either. We went down the street and made an appointment at Aveda. They don't seem to mind taking our money. read more

Tom (owner) has known me and my hair since I was 32. I'm now 61. But Tom stays VERY current with trends and latest styles. He is the best colorist possible and I have never left there crying, wondering what happened to my hair? He listens to me and yet understands my hair better than I do! There have been a few times when has told me "not a good idea" when I suggest a certain cut (and he is always right!) because he knows it won't look good on me. I've been going to Linda for over 15 years and while living in 3 different states. I've had full foils, partial foils with dye to "reset" the rest of my hair that had been showing years of highlights and getting too blonde, hair styling for prom, cuts to both long and medium length hair, and microblading. She always listens so as to be sure she is giving me exactly what I've asked for. (Even when what I want is questionable, like the one time I went with those suuuuuuper chunky highlights. I maintain it was cool at the time!) She was just as detail-oriented as I was when doing the microblading, and I cannot stress how much I appreciate that. She keeps records of thre work she performs so she can easily reference it in subsequent visits--I love that commitment to service. I love the results each visit and still visit her for touch-ups. As luck would have it I was scheduled with Cindy. Wow! From the minute she saw me she was making mental notes of my present style. Combined with that and my explanation of what I wanted she truly 'understood' my hair and my requests, as you could tell in her feedback when I talked with her. The salon itself is great. You get your very own cubicle where the washing bowl is right there. You don't have to walk around from place to place with a towel on your head or other funny things for people to see.
