I called to ask what the price was if I didn't get a shampoo and condition with a standard cut (which i was answered with- it is still $26 dollars). That wasn't my problem, my problem was that during the call she was not very friendly and was very blunt and repeated her answer twice even though I said thank you in understanding, at the end of the call after I said thank you, the lady working said bye and immediately after said "Oh my god-" like she was about to rant to her coworkers, or maybe just mumble about how stupid my question might have been. I have had my fair share of silly questions asked while working with costumers, but never have I immediately (while still on the line) started going on about how annoying they were! I was absolutely disrespected. I put 2 stars because I have had a great cut here before for very cheap (with a coupon), but I was just outright disrespected. read more

I went to get a professional coloring instead of do it at home. She used nothing to keep it off my skin my son uses vasoline before he dies his hair n constantly wipes . She left it on me came back about 8-10 mins n tried to wipe a drop or two n on my cheek. It already set . It's all across my forehead my ears my side burns like a sloppy job. I thought being a professional she might know what she's doing. It has a trick to be able to get it off like no big deal but I was wrong it's not that she didn't know what she's doing. It was no big deal to her me walking out looking like an idiot, I even gave her a $15 tip. I wish I didn't I have pictures. It looks so unprofessional all over my face all over my side of my cheeks etc disappointing big time money I paid but I've been tell the places to pay less and got a better job done. Recent transplant to the area. Scary looking for someone new to cut your hair. So, I googled hair salons and came across the review for Hair Cuttery and saw the RAVE reviews for Claudia. I called up and spoke with Claudia and she was able to get me in. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. First, Claudia's customer service is on point! Secondly, her skills to listening to me first and then offering her professional suggestions meant a lot. Third, Claudia has superior skills with those scissors and color. Do not visit this place if you love your hair go somewhere better please.This is the single worst haircut I have ever gotten when I asked the women with curly orange hair to cut my hair two inches below my shoulders she ends up cutting it to my shoulders making me look like a pilgrim. Do not bother to go to this salon! No smiles offered here. Made an online appointment the night before. I arrived on time for my 1:00 appointment & they checked me in. Since it was my first time at this salon, I didn't know what my stylist looked like; just her name. 50 minutes later I finally said: "I had a 1:00 with Kaylee". The girl said: she's almost done. I do not recommend anyone going to the Hair Cuttery on Broadway in Crown Point, IN. My wife and I had been going to the Hair Cuttery by Strack and Van Tils for about a year now. My wife had her Hair Cut today and I noticed that they cut an entire chunk of hair off of her left back side. My wife asked me to look at it to see if there really was a chunk of hair chopped out, I looked and sure enough there was a chunk cut out. On top of that the Price for a Regular Hair Cut & Shampoo is $20. They charged her $30 for the hair cut, she asked why so much, the sign said $20. They told her that her hair was long, that it was midway down your back. The Hair Cuttery should be more professional and POST a sign letting customers know that if there hair is very long that they will be charge an additional fee! We will not ever go back to the Hair Cuttery for a hair cut! read more

I cant remember if her name is Vanessa or Victoria Alvarado, but she was my stylist. I have no idea why she was so rough with my head & hair. Tell me why she was going through my wet hair with her fingers while blow drying. My hair was getting knots and she would just rip right through them with her fingers. It was hurting. She would also keep the blow dryer on one spot with it on a high heat setting. I had to tell her multiple times it was too hot. I have long layers, and at first i thought my hair looked fine after, but i shortly realized my layers were now choppy. It looks like i cut it myself. They do not blend. I have never complained about my hair when i get it done at ulta and never have i felt that much pain. My hair is never knotty after I wash it, she was careless. I understand your head gets pulled around a little bit while blow drying, but my head was being pulled in every direction like a rag doll. She should find another profession. read more

Went into Crown Point salon with a picture of a cute, sexy long layered medium length hairstyle...walked out with short layered haircut, too short to even put in a ponytail and looking nothing like the picture. It will take 4-5 months to grow out to the length I wanted it at. I did get my money back but I curse that stylist everyday looking in my mirror... I wish I had read reviews on here and Google about this salon before going.... Stay away!!! read more
