Back for another haircut and 10/10 would recommend. I had Jessica and she was amazing! My favorite part of the haircut is the shampoo wash, it was soo relaxing and Jessica kept me dry! This is a great place. My stylist is Anu and she does an amazing job with my hair. She gives cuts that are so easy to style and works magic with color and highlights. Give her a try. You will be very pleaaed! Prices are also quite reasonable. The salon is kept very clean. They use really good quality products too. A big plus is that when you are away from home and go to a different Hair Cuttery they can look up your color and cut info so the stylist there can do what has already worked well for you. I came in for a haircut and partial balayage and I believe my stylist tried her best which is why I wouldn't drop the stars, but I wasn't happy with the results. I was asked to pick a color from the book and I ended up asking if my stylist could do an ash blonde, to which she agreed and proceeded. After processing the bleach and tone, the color came out a brassy orangey color and one side was darker than the other. They were about to close and another stylist stepped in to assist and they toned my hair a darker shade just so it wouldn't be so orange when I left that day. I appreciated their effort to tone out the brassiness but she had gotten toner in my eye and the other stylist helped me. I'm also not sure if this is normal but my stylist wasn't wearing any gloves to protect her hands from the bleach and tone throughout this. I was asked to come back in another day so she could re bleach and re tone my hair, and I attached pictures of the outcome. I took these photos right out of the haircuttery, and I personally think it looks like my highlights grew out for a few weeks cause the blonde doesn't blend with my natural color and there's an abrupt gap. read more

Christine gives a great cut! She has cut my hair when it was long, and I went with a bob most recently which was also done wonderfully. She's as good as the $70 cut I get from milazzo and mattey! And for 22$ you can't beat that! (And let me just say I'm super particular with my hair). It has been... awhile... since my last hair cut. Over 2 years, if we're I'm being honest. Moved to a new area, got a new job, figured it's time to clean up the rat's nest on my head! This place was close, open early, and cheap (3 of my 4 requirements!) My cuts are pretty straightforward, so the negative reviews didn't sway me one way or the other. Hard to mess up "8 inches off the bottom, all one length, shampoo no blowdry." Walked in and was greeted and helped immediately (it was 9:30am so they hadn't been open for more than half an hour at that point). Anu was the woman that helped me. She had a thick accent and didn't talk much but that's OK. She was very quick and efficient. Used a tea tree treatment on my scalp to help my dry winter skin (felt amazing!). Told her exactly what I wanted and she delivered. No unwanted, pushy up selling... it was offered at the end but when I declined she left it at that. Whole thing: shampoo, cut, tea tree, and a leave-in conditioner was $18 out the door and I was done in 30 minutes. Would definitely come back here. Price is right, and if you're not looking for anything fancy there's no reason to go anywhere else! read more

It depends on who you are able to get. One stylist I like a lot, truly listens & will say if something may not be good for you. Others, just say yes,yes, yes & then do something different to what you asked for. Kind of upsetting when it's a hair colour & cut. Try to make an appt if you find a hair stylist you like. Disappointing, quite bad experience today. These people will almost beg you to buy those Paul mitchell products off their shelves, but when it comes to service only a very few stylists would feel you welcomed. My son and I walked in today, the salon was deserted, there were 4 stylists in view however, after having us sit for 10 mins we would know that they can't take us!! Just because they were waiting for an appointment at 12.30, which was still about 15 mins away when we walked in. Not coming back again for sure!! I have to disagree with a previous reviewer, I don't know who her stylist was, but my claimed to know how to work with curly hair, but the result was disappointing. Love this place! I have been getting my haircuts here about once-a-month for about five years. I know most guys' haircuts are fairly straightforward but this is a great no-nonsense place for men to walk in and get a quick cut or trim. I used to go to an overpriced "fancy"salon in Princeton but the results at Hair Cuttery are the same and for a fraction of the price. The stylists are always friendly and helpful and always greet you and check you in as soon as you walk in the door. The only negative (I would take off a half a star if it were possible) is that sometimes there is this elderly lady named Cathy - I think she is a manager - who has the absolute worst demeanor. She is curt, snippy, and doesn't look you in the eye when she speaks to you. I rarely see her with a client so I do not understand why she always seems so frustrated and harried that she can't be as pleasant as the other ladies. But overall - a great place for men, women, and children to get reasonably-priced hair services with a friendly staff! read more

Chris from this Hair Cuttery is out right discriminatory. I am a person of color and I walked in with my son for a quick clean, Not a Haircut up at 1:18 pm today. Total number of Barber's-3 Number of people working- 1 (Chris and Sharon were free) Chris: Do you have an appointment? Me: No! Chris: Let me check, looks at the computer and goes "we don't have anything until 4 pm today. I have an appointment coming in at 1:30 pm. I have nothing at this time. Goes inside and I can hear her talk in the back Me: Glancing at the time. It's just clean up, not a hair cut (Politely) Anu: While working on someone...just clean up, I can take care of him (looking at my son) So we wait for Anu to finish. A Caucasian male walks in at 1:26 pm. Chris walks up to him. Chris: Do you have an appointment? White Male: No, I wanted a HAIR CUT, (not a trim/clean up). Chris: Can you come back at 4:00? White Male: NO!!! with a chuckle Chris: Looks at the clock! the time is 1:28 pm. I have someone coming in at 1:30 pm. Hmmmmm! thinking for 10 second...Alright, I can squeeze you in. HAAA! Anu cleaned my son's hair. We walked out in 12 min, 1:42 pm. Meanwhile, Chris is still cutting the White male's hair and I could clearly see, he was half done at that point. I didn't have a good experience in the salon. The staff was condescending with the hair stylist that was assign to me and shortly after, I learned why. This stylist was not a good communicator and didn't explain the steps she was taking. She did a poor job with my shampooing and didn't seem to know how to blow dry my hair. I ended up leaving and drying it at home. I gave 2 stars because the color is okay. I really wished the other stylists that did seem to be doing a better job would have addressed my needs. read more
