Open all seven days a week, this salon has a number of stylists working their. Cindy is fantastic and so is Jen, Jess, Britany. Always had a good and satisfactory experience there. Some of them are master stylists and an appointment can be made with them ahead of time. Their prices are a little bit higher though. When you walk-in they ask you whether you would prefer any particular stylist or the first available - you can request one also at that time and they'll tell you the wait time approximately. There are several stylists at this shop who really do good job. I recently started having color done and have asked the stylists (not the ones I've mentioned) if they could put something in the color which would negate the bad effects I get from it. Several times I was told no and sometimes not with the nicest of attitudes. (Don't ask me why I kept going there for color or kept getting color; I am vain, I suppose.) When I went in May, I told the stylist that I have problems with color (scalp burn) but I understand that there is not much they can do and she concurred. She colored and for once I had nice bright yellow highlights to with the color, which immediately had to tone down. Anyway, she rubbed the color in my hair and even though I reviewed my scalp problem, rubbed it into my scalp, or so it felt. The CUT she did was very, very good. I later contacted Hair Cuttery Corporate to ask if they have solutions that the stylists could add to negate the ill effects of the color. The corporate office sent someone out with an order sheet and told them they can use a product called "STOP THE BURN" for clients who have issues, so now this HC has STB and the stylists have used it twice on me and it really really helps. What irks me is that nobody contacted corporate to see what can be done; I seriously cannot be the only person who needs something like this in this area. Anyway, I got my hair cut there this past weekend and I showed the woman who cut it a picture, I told her I wanted the back more fringy and long, angled bangs. She said yep, I got it and then....proceeded to give me short bangs and the neck ...I can feel how SHORN it is and I hate it. I technically know this is a very good cut, but I cannot stand certain areas where it is short, so this is yet another salon with stylists that do what they want. I really wanted to give it a 2, but there are stylists who are good who listen - which should teach me to make an appointment so I can get who I want. Mixed review. read more

Here's the deal: it depends who does your hair! I've had great experiences here and also appalling experiences here (I've live right up the street for a decade). I guess the way it works is that the workers aren't allowed to accept appointments until they've been there for a long time, so that they have stylists available to do walk ins. This is, in my opinion, a crappy system, because then it's a crap shoot who you get. There was a lady here for a long time who you could make appointments with, and she did a great job and I used her for like 6 years. Then she left. I tried several other places (Regis in the Capital City Mall, a small boutique in Camp Hill which shall remain nameless, etc) and had no better luck than at this place, so I went back. Luckily I got a sweet young lady who did a great job. But while I was there, I saw some pretty awful hair-dos getting done lol! You are allowed to request a worker who is there when you walk in, but you might have to wait a long time (again, a crappy system). My advice is, to ask for the worker with the best hair (or the one with the style you like most), see how long it will take to get in with them, and then decide if you are willing to wait. For the record, the girl who did my hair 2 weeks ago is Kelsey B. I got a cut, highlights and blow dry, it was exactly how I asked for it to be. I think the price for that was around $100, not sure because I also got my eyebrows waxed and bought shampoo while I was there. So I give that girl 5 stars, but because of the dumb system of not being allowed to make appointments, I only gave the joint 4 stars. read more

I went in on Thursday around lunch time. The receptionist wanted my phone number so she could sign me in. I politely told her I don't give out my phone number. She explained that they use my number to keep track of clients, but I politely told her two more times that I do not give out my phone number. Then she rolled her eyes at me. I have been coming to this salon to get my eyebrows waxed for years and never have I been treated with such disrespect. I turned around and left. I will not be back. I am very unhappy with how I was treated. read more
