Seriously in need of a change in salons and hair philosophy I wanted to try someone different so I took fellow Yelper Sari Marissa G's suggestion of trying TNT. So glad I did because she was spot on in her review and in the suggestions she gave me about trying TNT. The salon is right off of Bustleton Avenue and you may drive right by it because it's on the second floor. But once you find it there's plenty of parking in the back and some out front. The salon is really pretty and set up well. Separate areas are set up for shampoo, coloring and styling. I actually like that. Not being stuck in one place for a couple of hours while The coloring process takes place. Everyone there was very friendly and it seems like a happy place to work. Trish my stylist has been with them many years and I must say the way she worked on my hair she impressed me as being an artist in her chosen field. She took the time to listen to my hair concerns about what I wanted to accomplish, what I had done in the past and how I needed a bit of a change. We talked back-and-forth about what to do and I really felt confident that I would be happy in the end. One thing that I really loved about Trish was she really took the time when coloring my hair, separating the strands and applying the color and foils for my highlights. I have been to a few other places where the stuff was just kind of slapped on. Not here. It was just a very pleasant experience. She showed me a better way of applying mousse and working it through and I watched her as she took the time to style my hair. She did A really fantastic job and I left there with a great cut and style and beautiful highlights. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the shampoo was one of the best I've gotten in my life. Lucy did a fabulous job there too. So on my way home I hit that inevitable cluster that is I 95 south at rush-hour and it took me an hour and five minutes to get home. I like TNT so much that it will not prevent me from coming back to see Trish again. I'll just get an earlier appointment next time.

Ended up with an old fashioned fringe as thick as a painters brush. HOWEVER...Frank, the owner asked me to come back and give the salon another shot. He promised he would be the one to do my hair this time. So I did, and I am glad I did. Honestly, he did an AMAZING job. I walked into the salon that day feeling like a mop, and walked out feeling like a supermodel. My boyfriend couldn't take his eyes off of me for days afterward. He helped me choose a fantastic color, that I was very happy with, and my haircut and style was done perfectly. He entertained me the entire time he was doing my hair. Time went by very quickly and the result was great. I waited to leave a review to make sure the color doesn't just wash off in a day. It has been a month, and it is still in pretty good shape. While my hair color was drying, Tracy gave me a gel manicure...and It wasn't the most amazing gel manicure in the world, but it was good. She was a pleasure to get a manicure from. She took her time with my cuticles and painting my nails. She was very nice and professional. My nails looked great. The color I chose did begin to chip off a bit after a week, but that's not exactly her fault. The nail polish brand and cleaning supplies I used that week could've made the polish more brittle. Overall, I am extremely happy with my visit and would come back again. Here are the only few cons: 1. Rachel (Just avoid her and your experience should be great) 2. Price: This salon is still very expensive...(It should be marked as $$$) but Frank did explain to me that his rent for the salon went up by a crazy amount unexpectedly, so I'm assuming that he is just trying to make up that difference. I would still be wiling to pay a little more to have him as my hair stylist. 3. (NAILS) No plastic pre-colored nails to choose color easily. You have to pick up each bottle of polish (and there's A LOT) and hope whichever one looks good in a bottle will look just as good on your hands. Otherwise, this place is great. Just make your appointment with Frank, specifically, and you will have nothing to complain about. Give it a shot! :
