Worst haircut I have ever received. completely fucked up my hair. 10 out of 10 wouldn't recommend to even cut my dogs hair.

My dad and I have followed Alice because she is considerate, and I trust her expertise in handling our hair. She takes the time and effort to make sure every appointment is comfortable for us by asking if the water temperature is right, blowing away leftover bits of hair off before we leave her chair, and taking the time to listen what to we want as well as point out how she shaped our style. She is forthcoming when asked if something works or not which I appreciate because she cares about the quality of her work. Not to mention, her shampoo massages are truly magical (especially after a long nightshift)! She has a way with making the experience about and around you. I called this salon based on the positive feedback, and asked to make a same day appt. The person I spoke with said to just come in, they wouldn't be busy at the time I wanted to go in. So we arrived, it was just a quick kids cut... and we waited a half hour. They actually took other walk ins that arrived after us, first. And one stylist who was free was aimlessly walking around- she wasn't taking walk-ins apparently. Finally after I complained, someone took my daughter. She was fast, which was nice, but then instead of checking me out she went and helped someone choose hair products. I stood in line but some other custoMer who was behind me then got checked out ahead of me because my stylist wasn't there to check me out. So overall, it was clear that we were not important customers here. My daughter wants to get her hair dyed blue so we were going to make a follow up appointment but I'm going to look for another local salon instead. read more

They charged the tip (20%) for the shampoo/conditioner which I purchased after the haircut. My tip was supposed only for the hair cut service. Additionally, they refused to refund the unreasonable charge. Be cautious what they charge you! The best thing to do is ----just NOT walk in that place. read more

First, I called ahead to confirm they cut black hair. They said yes so I made an appointment. When I arrived and tried to get my curly extensions cut...the racist white woman says "we are not trained on extensions...the company would be liable is something if goes wrong." She's trying to tell me she never cut a white woman with extensions? I'm sure she has besides the website states that they offer extensions!!! Just say you can't cut black hair but don't feed me the BS. I live in Urbana and will be sure to share my treatment in your establishment. read more

I have gone there six times but only got my hair cut once. The wait is just far too long. Every time that I've gone the wait has been at least 45 minutes, which is far too long for waiting to get a hair cut. I think the problem may be that they're understaffed. read more

High level of professionalism at an inexpensive price. I'm switching to here. I didn't get anyone's names, but I brought my active 6YO boy and she was so patient and dynamic cutting his hair thru his wiggles. She was very detail oriented and gently suggested a real style when I basically was fine with just shaving it all over. Best haircut he's ever had. I told her I wanted a cut too, but was concerned about my toddler running around. She played with the baby while I was on the chair with the other stylist! I so appreciate it! read more

I went to this branch for the first time today. The Hubby and I have recently moved to the area and we're trying out the local businesses. I walked in and was helped right away. Eduardo cut my hair, and I have to give him kudos for his skill and professionalism. I've had bad experiences in the past with stylists because of my problematic hair and have sometimes left upset by comments they've made. Since then I've been reluctant to have my hair cut, and I put it off for ages. Eduardo was a true professional who discussed with me what I wanted, made helpful suggestions, and gave me a cut with which I'm very happy. I will certainly go back. read more

I was recently in this establishment to get my hair cut. I had a good experience. Today I took my daughter in to get hers cut and was told that there would be a length fee. An extra $10 because her hair was longer. It comes to just past her shoulders. My hair is longer but when I was there earlier in the week they did not charge me an $10. Also, I saw several other young girls with longer hair and their parents were not charged the extra $10. In hindsight I should have talked to the manager but I just wanted to be done. The $10 charge is not on the pricing sign. I will not be going back there anytime soon, which is a shame as it is convenient and they usually do a pretty good job. read more

Not reliable. We've used other Hair Cuttery shops, but this is the 3rd ocassion within 6 months at this shop that we've checked in, waited 30-45 minutes for the "appointment" only to arrive and be told the wait will still be ANOTHER 30 or 40 minutes. Makes it difficult when you're juggling several people's schedules within your own family. Also, last time my son was upset at how poorly the haircut was done -- he asked to have his ears "cut out" and she ignored him. (And honestly, the cut didnt look so great.) My son said he was willing to give them another try today. I'm not sure I'll be willing to take him there again though. read more

Absolutely terrible. The woman who cut my hair cut my ear and drew blood. Then she dropped the scizzors on the floor, picked them up and continued to cut my hair without hesitation. She also continued to remind me that they didnt pay well at the hair cuttery, trying to make me feel guilty. I dont normally write reviews on places, but I felt it was my civic duty to inform the public about this particular store. I decided at 3:00 Saturday afternoon that I had the time,and wanted to get my hair colored and cut, and thought to myself, just call over to Hair Cuttery and see if they are busy (I live not even 5 minutes away). They said there should be little to no wait if I came over very soon...so I went right over. She was right, no wait... Kristen took me right away. Without going through major details...I was thrilled with my hair when I left. Kristen advised me on color and suggested that I try something just a little different than I normally do, as I was complaining that my hair tends to look dull these days... She was absolutely correct!! The color is beautiful and radiant... She listened to every detail I told her in the beginning and did exactly as I asked!! I will definitely be going back to Kristen!! And just a note, she did say they were slow compared to a typical Saturday...so I got lucky! read more
