She genuinely cares more about healthy hair than making a sale. She's done my hair for everyday appointments, special occasions, and even my wedding, where she also did my makeup. During Covid-19, the salon has gone above and beyond to take the proper precautions to keep clients and employees safe. Prior to each appointment, they send a form that asks standard questions like whether you've been in contact with anyone who has been sick, whether you've experienced any symptoms, etc. Upon arrival, you call the salon from outside, where you are greeted with hand sanitizer and temperature checks. Inside, stations are appropriately distanced, with partitions between stations and masks required at all times. It's been a wild year and getting my hair done is a small luxury that makes me feel good, even if I'm currently only showing off my blowouts to my husband in the comfort of our own home. I've had too many stylists who say they "get" curls and then do whatever they want. Kelly at Marie's Salon was the complete opposite. She took the time to really listen, asked smart questions about how I style it, what I like and don't like, and repeated everything back so we were perfectly on the same page. (The fact that she has gorgeous curly hair herself was an instant confidence boost--she clearly understands curls on a personal level!) I got exactly the cut I asked for: great shape, face-framing layers that actually work with my curl pattern, and it's so easy to manage at home. The shampoo and that incredible head massage were pure bliss. The salon is spotlessly clean, professional yet super relaxing, and the price was completely fair--no feeling overcharged like I've experienced elsewhere. About 15 years ago two of Tommy's sons moved to California and became celebrity stylists: Rocco and Jeff Serra. Most recently they were featured on the reality television show Split Ends. I needed a overall color and a trim desperately. Originally, I was told that they could fit me in for color but the trim would have to wait. Kim was able to color my hair and fit in my cut.
